    Oh my God, I actually spent an entire week listening to this man's explanation of these design docs.

    I think the dead horses from honest hearts are a reference to the group that left the reservation and traveled to mesa Verde national park
    In honest hearts we learn that the dead horses come from a place called "The Res" and traveled to zion national park.

    what I do not get is how having low charisma helps you with these romance options, is it becuse ghouls are ugly?

      I mean makes sense in a way, if you are born and raised around people who look like corpses, the average look makes you handsome. While high charisma means, you look otherworldly and may even look uncanny to her.

    Hi Retcon, so far based on what you've read in the documents, how much of it do you think can still potentially be canon without contradicting established lore? In other words IF Bethesda ever decides to remake this game officially, how much of it do you think would they have to change? Could be an interesting video topic once you get through all of it :D

      Since it was made by the original creators, it is of my opinion that this has a higher priority of being canon than anything that came after. The fact that it's more interesting helps in that regard as well.

      That's not canon works

    • @Harvest133
      @Harvest133 2 роки тому +1

      @@steelbear2063 That is how it works. It's by presedence. OG creators have precedence over what is canon. Notice I said 'Precedence' not 'Iron Law' or thereabouts. Fact is Bethesda fundamentally does not understand Fallout at even the most basic level, and it's clear as crystal from their games that this the truth. Fallout isn't some Laughy-Gaffey Tee-hee 1950's Retro-Futurism poke at Americana. It's a genuine look at human nature, the meaning of culture, civilization, morality and ethics using the background of a post-nuclear world to ground this analysis. Bethesda sees the Raygun Gothic (while ignoring the Casette Futurism) aspects and mistakes it for being purely aesthetics instead of the Hauntological construct that it was.

      That is absolutely not how canon works, however strongly you wish it to be true, it doesn't change shit. Also get off the Bethesda hate train, it broke down years ago and isn't going anywhere. Your beloved original creators made Fallout Brotherhood of Steel and a sequel was in development, play that game and tell me they understood what the fuck they were doing. And original Fallouts were far goofier that what you describe, but I guess you'd rather cherry pick

    • @Harvest133
      @Harvest133 Рік тому +1

      @@steelbear2063 Interplay made Brotherhood of Steel, correct. However, none of the personnel that made Fallout 1, 2, or New Vegas was involved with it. So, why did you bring it up?
      Also, the humor in the original Fallout games was black, and not overbearing. It's an addition, not the main course. Lastly, it's not that I hate Bethesda. I only stated that it's clear they didn't understand the IP they purchased. Kind of like how Disney fundementally doesn't understand Star Wars. You're free to like Disney Wars or Bethesda Fallout. You're not wrong for doing so. They're just fundamentally different products from their namesakes that it's misleading that they have them share franchises. That's all,
