I always found the PSP GTA games to be quite impressive, especially Vice City Stories. I mean, sure, there are framedrops and the games are not quite as huge as the PS2 trilogy but having a fully fledged GTA game on the go back then was huge.

Love the switch for being able to play these big console games on the go but being able to play these console games on psp back in middle school just hit different. Blew my mind being able to play ps2 quality games like gta, def jam, mk description and many others on the go.
PSP was really impressive for 2005. I'll never forget in middle school a friend had a N64 Emulator on his and that blew my mind.

Borderlands on an overclocked vita was actually very good. Spent maaaaany hours smashing that game on my phat vita

Borderlands 2 port can be improved a lot upon with a hacked ps vita so it gives you a consistent 30fps and no crashes, Also just saying that while the vita shown in your footage is a thing of beauty (really love that color) it's a vita slim that has a LCD screen and not the fat or 1000 vita which has the OLED screen.
Tapwave Zodiac was a 2003 device. It had an unreleased port of Tombraider 1 and 2... 480*320 resolution. Better than psp and had a touchscreen.

How great it would have been if infinity ward ported cod4 to nds just like they did to wii I still remember the day when I played the cod4 mobilized I was disappointed seeing that it was completely different from original

Some games was really good on handheld but I think Playstation should stay away from handheld and leave that to Nintendo. Nintendo should also stop build console and stick to handheld
I think the Switch was smart for Nintendo, as it appeals to the handheld market and console market.

@@OrbitGametvare you mental, both the psp and vita are INCREDIBLE machines, have you seen whats happening with the vita even now? Sony fucked the management of those systems but the machines themselves are consistently better than anything that was out at the time

I miss Sony's innovation in the handheld market but my steam deck gives me more than what I imagine Sony would atm. (Still hoping for a vita 2 though haha)
Nintendo deserves to burn in a dumpster fire for how much they have held back the gaming industry, and none of that is clearer than with handhelds. Portable Gaming should have been a space to innovate but Nintendo sabotaged the entire industry with the gameboy and DS like by making them garbage hardware with tech 10 years before their release. Sony was a god king for not listening to this bullshit and releasing the PS and PS VITA. Hell the PS VITA is more powerful than a switch with some hard optimization despite being way older. I hope that with this new trend of mobile gaming PCs in a handheld factor, we can see companies try to make cool handhelds again.
