Ps1 was better for me but ps2 is a close second
I play online more on my PS2 and PS3 since the Private server scene for these consoles have bee blown wide open, I highly recommend both platforms

Are there any players online as the ps2 online site shows maybe just 2 games active during the weekend?
@SyncMaster910T There can be. I found like 7 players on COD3 when it showed 0. I think it's not always the most accurate but worth a shot regardless.

I've been at the start of allot of these private server revivals on PS2 and PS3, I'm right there with you on killzone 1 and 2, with these games been revived I play online more on PlayStation 2 and 3.

The Monster Hunter games have the network config files on them too. You can edit the network config through the game menu.

Its also important to note that these games need to be in NTSC format. Being in the uk, none of my disc based games work online. Theres no patches for the PAL versions, which is a shame. Luckily my ps2 is softmodded and I also have the Series S...I have noticed the 2 consoles, although connect to a lobby, they dont like to play together.
That's not entirely true. I am one of the developers for PSRewired and we support most of the non NTSC region versions of the games that are in our list.
It's not like it makes it a huge deal breaker. If you are able to, please pass the message onto the team behind patching Need For Speed Underground 2 PAL. I'd love to use a peugeot 106 online,as the Honda Civic replaced it in NTSC. PAL versions of Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Tony Hawks 3 have been the ones that I tried and never worked. Thank you for bringing new life into the PS2!@@1updev

Dude, this video is amazing. I just recently started digging through my old ps2 library and was curious to know if any online communities were still on the go. I'm amazed that not only is it still going but people are still working on restoring old games like NFS:U. Really want to see about jumping into RaC online.
Much appreciated. Back in the day I missed on the PS2 online scene do to bad internet connection. Only experience I had was Need for Speed Underground and Mortal Kombat Deception. It was not taht great the connection was dropping all the time.

@@Snaaake_Beatercrt is way better when it comes to retro gaming. Component is serviceable if the game supports progressive mode. But CRT is best. The look and feel of it provides a more authentic experience

The Dns Numbers work with Jak X Combat Racing and Ratchet and Clank Up Your Arsenal!Also Ratchet Deadlocked ( This game was on Ps3 Servers before it Shut down and i played it against somebody it was Fun!). Tony Hawk's Underground has Online Too! Also Tony Hawks Pro Skater 4, X men Legends 2.

Great video, I did everything to play Socom 2, even had the test connection be successful but when trying to login to play the real game, I got a DNAS error and unable to connect

you forgot one, godzilla save the earth also has the network config on it. I know cause i have a ps2 and ps2 slim.
Another method you could use is if u have a Backwards compatible PS3, u can just connect to tye internet wirelessly and just hop online on any ps2 game, ofc youll prolly have to tweak sum network settings on the ps2 network settings but you shouod be able too, thats how i got online on bf2 bad company

Man it was really that easy. I wished I knew about this earlier when I 16 years old and less. I would have had a blast playing my call of duty games on it. Now my ps2 can't even display itself so I'm screwed.

The PS2,PS1 and N64 are like the only 3 consoles out there that won't be over $200+
@@PokeBurnPlease I don't want to abandon my old ps2. Plus I simply do not have the space in my room since I have a bunch of other old consoles.
N64 is in another league compared to ps1 and ps2. While i can get the ps1 and 2 easily for 10€ - 20€ the n64 will cost me atleast 80€.
It looks like the N64 will definetly get above 200€. I believe the prices are similar in the US.@@GoofyPoptart

I need to mention that after looking at gt4 online This game needs pc intervention much like ug2. I expect a bunch of other games have a process like this if anyone who reads this doesn't want to go through that at the moment ug 1, battle field 2 and Socom 2 work with the base ps2 and ethernet connection, not to mention some ntsc and pal cross playing problems you might face with other games. Hi im using call of duty finest hour on ps2 slim pal version.
how do i go past the page after inputting a server name such like 'ps2 online' like you suggested.There are left and right arrows either side,i can only go back not forward with the new server name inputed,so then it just reverts to its generic 'setting1' name.
Also after saving to card and then going to multiplayer and using the network setup ive just created (still called setting1) it fails at the dnas check,always does,both on my ps2 slim and fat with same game,are the servers finished now? Thanks clive

Awesome video, this worked connecting Pro Evo 6 online, but when you get online there are four options, one being, connect to lobby, however it asks for a user id and password which I don’t have. If you click on user registration you get an error message, any idea how to get round this/register to be able to login and access the online lobby?

Underground 1 and 2 had online, Most Wanted had online in beta but was cut, Hot Pursuit 2, Carbon, ProStreet, and Undercover didn't have online.
