    Hi Fares,
    just discovered your channel a month ago or so. High thumbs up for everything you do here on UA-cam, i really do enjoy your videos.
    I discovered your channel for the reason, that i just got back to swimming. Since i went to the local swim club (in south of Germany) with my twin babies for baby swimming, i saw the masters group and felt the big desire to get back into swimming myself.
    I was a swim athlete in my high school time (~10h training per week), but quit afterwards when i went to college. And really as an average good swimmer (from swim athlete point of view) there were not so good opportunities to continue swimming in college.
    I guess you probably already trained swimmers which had long breaks like me?
    So in your experience (or also other commentators here on the channel), if a swimmer like me who had a break of 20 years (quit with 17 continued maybe a year or two with low amount of training, now I´m 37), how close can a swimmer get to the old swim times if the general fitness is still good. I mean i trained other stuff to keep myself fit (running, bicycle, gym etc.) i´m overall in ok shape for my age.
    For example with 17y old i swam 100m Free on long course (50m pool) ~00:55. How close can somebody get with ambitious training to old times (maybe you have some experience)?
    If you find the time to create a video of masters swimming and how the swim times drop on average over age would be great in my opinion.

    Fares, do you have a video which shows us how to roll over from back to front? I can turn from swimming to floating on my back but not to rolling over to face down. I don’t know why I am finding it so difficult! Thank you!

    Hi!! I teach kids lessons.
    How do I get young kids to understand and do streamline well? It's mainly the head position. It's always sticking above the arms. They do streamline one side well and not the other way.

  • @henrybrill4354

    For the arm position in streamline how can I control my arms? I feel like I am hyper extended and over rotating my arms

    How would I push off the wall for backstroke when the pool is just 13 yards and it’s done without a normal turn ?

  • @helenheggadon6324
    @helenheggadon6324 Рік тому +2

    How would you describe the turn itself? It looks like they are ‘folding over’ then kicking the wall and then correcting back to swim position after. Is that right? When I try I seem to get too close or too far, a stray leg will pop out the water, if I kick as I turn I’m upside down and if I twist back around before I kick I look like an amputated octopus! Would love to see a simple short on how to do the turn part itself. Thanks.

      Hi Helen! I would describe it as a somersault in the water. Check out this Short on 5 steps to a flip turn: ua-cam.com/users/shortsg_d5pQ47WoM

    on the open turn breast and fly isn't it mandatory (or face disqualification) to touch the wall with the 2 hands "parallels"? I see the lady on your video touching the wall always with one hand above the other!!!! would this be legal on a meet?

    • @FaresKsebati
      @FaresKsebati  Рік тому

      Good question! The hands don't have to be in the same plane, they just have to be simultaneous :)

    I am beginner always trying streamline at shallow water of the pool 😅. And this would make other users annoyed 😅
    Some say I block their way. 😅 And they keep asking me to swim longer distance cross the deepest of the pool where I feel lost of confidence or panic 😅

    With the over arm side stroke that I swim, I see everything in the pool, the good, the bad, and the down right ugly. I would say that 99% of all the swimmers in the pool, including the kids on swim team, have a slight to big arch in their back. The young woman in the yellow suit has a slight arch. It doesn't take much to get a big increase in drag. This comes from our natural reaction from walking upright, that when we lay on the ground, we lift our heads and arch our backs to see in front of us. From a coach at Speedo, "Suck in your gut like you are trying to put your belly button on your spine." If you have had a gymnastic back ground, you actually try to go slightly concave rather than arched.
