These features are worth the extra $$$ IMO .

Hi, I bought hands free power tail gate sensor, but doesn't work. I have 2017 EX-L model. I do this by myself. I need the hands free power tail gate attachment kit or not for this model?
I just bought the 2018 EX-L (no navigation). There's no need to add navigation as you can feed it through your phone via the Apple Play /Android Auto that comes standard. I paid an extra $750 to add roof rails and crossbars and about $350 for the hands free lift gate. The other stuff didn't really matter much to me. So I paid an extra $1100 to get all I wanted vs paying an extra $3000 to upgrade to the touring.

Excellent video and extremely informative. I'm actually thinking of purchasing the ex-l trim with optional hands free lift gate. Now that I know I can do that for only around $500. As opposed to spending almost 3k more for touring model🤔
Back in July 2017, I was about to buy the CR-V and narrowed it down to these 2 choices. It was your informative video that made my decision very easy for me and I was able to go into the dealership the next day with a very confident attitude of knowing exactly what I wanted. I bought the AWD Touring that day. 10 months later, I can truly say it is the best car I have ever owned (owned BMW, Lexus, Acura, Jeep Cherokee, Fords, Toyotas, Buicks, Accords, Mustang, Jetta, Subaru, VW in the past) by far. I think it is the PERFECT SUV and I have zero complaints although my list of things I'm impressed with is miles long. I wanted to thank you for having this video out that made my choice easy that day. By the way I'm on pace to put on 25,000 miles in one year, and have loved every minute of it.

The problem with both of these models is the turbo charged engine. There is an issue with these engines “adding oil” meaning that they are having gasoline getting into the oil. Honda doesn’t want to address it and doesn’t know how to fix it. We bought the lx model because it doesn’t have the turbocharged engine so no gas in the oil issue. It is still a great vehicle with plenty of power and comfort and you don’t have all of those trinkets to break down in the future.

My last 3 vehicles all had the “beep beep” when I backed up and it really bothers me that I don’t have it on the touring considering all the blind spots in this vehicle. This is a safety feature that is a must if you have children. Make sure if you are looking to buy the CRV Touring that it has a backup sensor. Storage space on the Touring. I bought a Hyundai Kona and I couldn’t get hardly anything in the back with just the 20 sf of space. How is the crv touring space in the back without letting the seats down???? Thanks
I believe you push the unlock button on the key fob in some combo. Like hold it down for 3 seconds, let off and press it again?? I know you can do it to open all the windows and sunroof. To close them you have to put the key in the door lock, turn it to the lock position and hold it. That will close all the windows and sunroof. If you cant figure out the proper way Google it, I know it can be done.
I was surprised that the rear sensing (sound) was extra on the Touring. Thought it would be included. Is the roof spoiler available as an option on the Touring - or is it not in USA? I would like to make a list of accessories to find out if folks out there think worth it.

Honda screwed it up by only offered the 2.4 liter in the LX. Other model only available with a crap turbo engine. Honda corporate policy was to install the turbo to get more MPG for some of their gas cheap skate customers. So, I traded my 2014 CRV-LX AWD for a 2018 RDX AWD with V-6 engine, no CVT either. Unfortunately, they also screwed up the RDX by offering only turbo and CVT in 2019. My RDX with 279 HP only cost $4,000 more than a CRV Touring., and had many more luxury items as standard.

No problem! My pleasure!
I'm curious if the Touring has a power passenger seat, and if there are other differences such dual climate control and the sound system.
The Touring does have a power Pass. seat. Both models get Dual Zone Climate. The Touring also gets a subwoofer in the trunk.
I was surprised that the rear sensing (sound) was extra on the Touring. Thought it would be included. Is the roof spoiler available as an option on the Touring - or is it not in USA? I would like to make a list of accessories to find out if folks out there think worth it.
I was too, I don't think the spoiler is an option in the US, I haven't seen any
The main bummer with all these electronic gadgets is the cost to repair/replace if anything goes wrong post warranty 😱
Thank you for the video well explained, great quality and very helpful.
My pleasure!
Very good comparison
Thank you!
Which modelnhas the swivel headlights. I think it was the sport sensing model. But the top trim is theTouring so it should be wvailable on the touring, right? How much faster is the turbo in sport mode from 0-60? Most reviewers put the 0-60 time at about 7. 5. i am surevin sport mode it is much quicker--especially if you test the2017 model year or later since itnhas the grill shutters to make it super slippery. Can you make a video on how the traffic sign recognition works. I know the speed limit is displayed on the TFT screen, but is it wctive tech? Mewning will it slow you down if you arenexceeding the speed limit? Or warn you in some way. Thanks for your help. i also dont understandnhonda's real-time 4wd. Hownis it different from regular awd?
informative video and to the point. Good stuff
what is the difference between the exhaust on them, it is just the tailpipes? cuz i want to get the touring sport rear bumper on my exl and do some work on the tail pipe to make it look like the touring. would you think it will work?
Very helpful! Thanks for making
Glad you enjoyed!
Hi, thanks for the review. Can I replace a damaged exl rear bumper with a Touring one? To give it that sporty look. Thanks
I believe you can, but the Dual Exhaust tips would have to be fitted as well
1 significant difference : EX-L doesn't come with sub woofer, Touring comes with it
TheVasirev but unfortunately it adds very little to the already sub standard speaker systems. I am disgusted at the honda audio systems.
I’m so close to buying an exl but the audio system was severely underwhelming... and I’m an audiophile
Excellent job!!!!!!!!
Thanks!!
Does Touring have side camera as well as exl ?
Nope just blindspot monitor!
Can you open the back door from the key like when you are approaching to the car and press something on the car key to open it?
Yes, there's a trunk release button
Audoyn Villegas _Yes. The key has a bottom to automaticity open the trunk z
The crv touring comes with wireless charging? Like the civic hatch touring
Good job pal!
Thank you!
You failed to mention that the Touring also has an adjustable height on the tailgate if the driver has a low ceiling garage.
The EX L also has this. He was just doing a comparison between the two.
Can you install the Touring LED headlights on the EXL? Is it compatible?
Thanks I needed this!
Glad I helped!!
Thank you, this was helpful!
Thank you!
Does someone knows how much does it cost a Honda CR-V 2017 exl, now in 2021?
Great job, thank you. I just test drove it and i t's better than a Macan. lol
Thanks! Oh wow lol
Great video, my friend. I hope Honda shows some appreciation in the form of ad dollars. ;-)
Thanks!! I appreciate it!
What about the audio system ? Which is better the touring or exl ? Or are they the same ?
The Touring
Great video. God job :)
Thank you!
Great car! I like the tires, they are rubber
Great car but still can't get over that minivan gear shift and the design of the back end...
Great job !!!!
Thank you!!
