Actually, my bad, I actually found the info in my manual however, it’s very difficult to understand. 🤔 if I understand correctly, the lower, the weight, the lower the setting…is that right? Unfortunately, my weight is not listed in the Table. The lowest seems to be 1 for 160lbs, and I’m about 50lbs less than that. lol any advice would be super helpful man. 🙏🏼 Thanks for making this video. Definitely incredibly helpful.
That's essentially correct! And yeah they hit middle of the road on weights. If you stick with stock suspension I'd play around with that lightest setting and see how you do. But I always recommend aftermarket suspension. It's a great upgrade.
Thanks for this. I just bought a 19’ breakout and was riding with it set for over 400 pounds. Needless to say, at 220lbs, I wasn’t to impressed with the rear suspension.
I really have a question I couldn't find an answer to all over the internet. Does adjusting the rear suspension in Softail slim decrease the vertical gap between the fender and the rear tire? Does suspension adjustment change the bike height in any way? Softail slim is a beautiful bike but the rear fender is so high that it bothers me.
I’m 145lbs and own a 2020 softail slim. I just learned about suspension adjustment as needed and about needing a spanner wrench. My dealer did not advise me on this nor did they give me the wrench with my purchase. Was I supposed to get one with my bike? What happens if i’m riding at a preset #3 when I’m supposed to be at a #1? Thank you for your help.
Just go to the dealership and tell them they never gave you the spanner wrench when you bought the bike, they should give you one. They are pretty cheap.
I adjusted my 2020 Standard to it's lowest preload setting and it beats my 150 lb body to death. I'm ready to sell it because I'm in pain for days after every ride. I shouldn't have to buy a $1000 shock to make a 650 lb bike ride decent. Harley's monoshocks are junk..
Any idea where exactly in the manual I can find this information like what category it might be under the table of contents? 🤔
Also, my spanner wrench does not sit snuggly in the handle, very loose fitting. Not sure if that’s normal….😬😬
Cool video Bro! Where can I buy the wrench for the Heritage? Its the same as my Deluxe.
Also how many rings for a 200lb rider?

OMG!!!! I thought that giant cockroach that crawled under the front wheel was going to steal the bike. Dude. Call the freaking bug guy!!!!
Well... would ya look at that 😂

It may effect sag with the rider on. But it is not intended to lower or raise the bikes suspension.

At 3 the shock won't work optimum with your weight. I'd drop it to 1.5 ,also I'd run lower psi say 33/35 cold .

Can you pl share the link for downloading Owners Manual for 2018 Fat Bob
Hey man I don't have any links for it but there are several facebook groups that have that stuff for free. What info are you trying to find?
It does not matter how you adjust the pre-load the springs are just to soft front and rear one has to change the complete system Öhlins and alike.
Do you weigh 500 lbs? Mine rides like a skid steer loader.
