That mural is absolutely STUNNING!!!!
I just love how it looks, I want to create one somewhere.
@@dharmaqueen Really!! Looking at that "Mural" for any length of time would Drive a Person MAD!! It's "Dizzing"!! Is this this Permanent Decor.??
And how about THANK YOU FEDX FOR GETTING THE PANELS OUT THERE!! WAY TO GO FEDX!!!
That’s what my comment said
Thanks to him their about to shine light on their property 🎉
james is one of those people who is so knowledgeable in every thing and can figure stuff out so great...he is priceless to have as a friend and neighbor...everyone needs a james in their life :)
My FIL used to work for Overnite and UPS, and I can't imagine him refusing to deliver. Glad you were able to get the setup. YT can make things seem easier than they are, but watching Barron install those panels during the rain on your metal roof after hauling each one up a ladder was a reality check. Y'all are stronger in so many ways because of how you've allowed this life to teach you.
I am tired just watching Barron climbing all over the roof, and then having to take apart the car. I'm in awe of all the both of you do!
You are absolutely gorgeous and don’t need makeup. You and Barren are awesome
My thoughts exactly. She is so naturally beautiful!
omigosh, elsa -- remember when you guys first got into this and one of your youtube golden rules was to always show up as yourselves. it hurts my heart to hear that you are feeling pressure to change that to compete. as a mother of a daughter, I am always reminding her and myself to resist the societal expectation to 'beautify ourselves'. be strong, friend!
When I catch myself doing a classic Elsa "woooopdiddlyoooo", I giggle & smile! 😆😘🫶
Me too 😁
Always a kick watching James and Baron work a project.
You two are just so good together. I mean you guys spend so much time secluded and together and remain best friends. I know it’s not always easy but you just make it work.
And you both have such beautiful eyes. Not being weird because I’m an old grandma, just telling the truth…❤
Pretty impressed with the house so far. Cant wait to see what’s in store the rest of summer. I also love the relationship you’ve built with James and Doreen. They are such great people!
We have an overabundance of Black walnut trees. I have been harvesting the walnuts in the fall. Small batches as it is a lot of work. Also, I have been researching how to make Black walnut syrup. You can harvest from different kinds of trees to make syrup.
Seeing sugar maple tree tapped in the spring is amazing. Even more visually stunning is the trees in the fall. Absolutely gorgeous colors ❤️
Critters that chew are endless! We've had damage to all three vehicles, living in a similar climate, also with no garage. Instead of scents we use ultrasonic rodent repellers, which flash strobes and generate very high pitched noises. In my RV, I have a Loraffe unit wired to the engine battery. I use a solar panel on the roof to run a 12V charger to keep that system nicely charged. In the Tacoma and Bolt, we have battery powered Loraffe units that run on pairs of C-cells. We got lithium C's that have a USB C port for charging, and they last about 3 weeks on a charge. This mostly does the trick, but Frank also added some 1/4 inch welded wire screen on top of the cabin air filter in his Tacoma. It got invaded much like your Subaru did, they built a nest on top of the filter. I wish vehicles were designed to keep rodents out! It's just one of the difficulties of a rural lifestyle. By the way, I have a spare Loraffe unit, the kind that runs on C cells. You could try it out really easily, and order some for your own vehicles if you like it.
Loved the rainbow! Everything looks great! Time to clean up your yard.
Baron. You can add a resistor(s) to reduce fan speed to suit. Borrow a bench power supply. Adjust voltage to the desired speed with car running. Note the voltage drop you need. Note current, too. Divide the two to get resistance. Power rating is current squared times Resistance. Amazon will sell you resistor(s). Drone will deliver, oh, not that far out.haha!
Put peppermint oil in your car it will keep mice away put on a cotton ball and place under the hood. We had mice problems in our home, I read up what can keep them away. We ended up catching them all then put peppermint oil all over the house. In corners etc. This was in the house but I am sure it would work for the car too. We have not had a mouse in the house since and that was a year ago. So try that. Worth a shot.
Works for spiders too
I do that for our RV also. I place peppermint soaked cotton balls on each tire and around inside.
This! I did the same thing but soaked cotton balls and tucked them into all sorts of places and I haven't had a mouse since!
Will the peppermint oil hurt the dogs? I thought it wasnt good for them
Peppermint oil is poisonous to dogs, both ingestion and skin contact.
Oh the joy of living off grid 😐 Plus side it's unbelievably satisfying when you fix the problem 😁😁😁😁 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Love from the UK x
Cotton balls soaked in peppermint oil works like a charm to deter mice from certain areas. I promise!
I’ve said it before - The topographical wall is stunning.
Try Irish Spring soap shavings. That’ll keep the mice away!
Clean the yard up😊
Your topographical map is absolutely the coolest!
Thank you!!
@@ElsaRhae It's my favourite thing about your house.
Is that the local topography?
@@dharmaqueen it is their land that they live on and own ❤
You guys are amazing!! Elsa your artistic skills are crazy ! Baron, your ability to figure out any problem is crazy. Thank you both for your videos!!
Barron is a stud. I've built two off-grid homesteads and soon my third (and hopefully final one). I love the level of both you guy's go-get-it-done attitude.
"Barronica" thats so good
Awe, happy your solar batteries finally arrived. Loved the make package you opened, what fun and all of those goodies looked amazing. Hope your garden is thriving!
Nice to see you today!. So absolutely Love your Topo wall Elsa! Great job
Elsa! You don’t need makeup you’re a natural beauty!! Nice work on the subie Barron! ❤😎👊🏽
Maple syrup gives me Christmas vibes. So yes, Christmas trees 🌲. I love the mural, Elsa. Never played Tropico. But I think I would love to learn.
You can use pine syrup! Some like it more than maple! Try it. Tap a 5needle pine tree. Slow cook down to thicken. Cool low and slow.
Not a gamer ✋ but that game you and Barron were playing, the description alone sounded intriguing! Then how Barron gave a training almost epic!! And very easy to follow thanks Barron! 😂 loved it!
Also!! As a long time follower I feel like we have seen Kamp become an OG ♥️ it’s so beautiful the journey he’s been on with you guys to see him in your guys home at this point in his life brings so much happiness 😊😊❤
I’m early! Enjoying rainy pizza dinner with my hubby and watching! So glad the solar stuff finally arrived 😊
Your house is looking so cozy!
It’s always a good day when I see a new video by Barron and Elsa 😅
We had the same problem for years
We live in the woods
Have tried many things
Finally found something that works very well
Bounce Dryer Sheets under the hood and inside the car
Along with Irish Spring chunks on the ground under the car
Elsa you do not need makeup. You are great just as you are. Can’t wait for the videos about the ins and outs of the off grid life.
Just all of this brings me such joy. Love seeing yall build the life yall want.
You both have been blessed for doing it smart. I'm sure it's been harder bc of the long wait for it but too many want it right now. Keep up the smart wrk.👍👍
We live out of city limits, not quite out as far as you are, and found a product at Tractor Supply Company, brand name, Fresh Cab. It is a botanical rodent repellent that looks like a little bag of potpourri that hangs in the engine bay. It works for our vehicles. Not sure if you've tried something like this or not, but worth a little research.
Well you have done an amazing job on everything and I can’t wait to see more. ❤❤
Barron is a beast, great job!
Your mural wall looks SO amazing ❤
I love the game Tropico! I feel like you can get a lot of life lessons from it. Also, that mural you did is so cool!
I LOVE Tropico!! I have been playing it for years! Excited to see others play it too!
I am the same when it comes to the Maple -Pine thing. Like I know maple syrup comes from Maple tress but my brain always associates Maple syrup with pine trees. Brains are so weird. 🤣🤣
I did not realize I had this association until Barron started talking 😅
Elsa you are beautiful with or without makeup! Thanks Barron for the tips on solar! I put it in my notes. Had no idea the difference between parrellel or series! You both are so awesome and I love how hands on you both are.
I loved the conversation at the end. Good stuff.
Your walls look so nice!! I’m glad you got your solar batteries!! Poor Subie!!
Blessings!!💚💚💚👫🐕🐕
Love your videos !
Please make a video on the pros and cons of living off grid I would love to see that:)
I love listening and watching me work!
You guys are amazing! 💜
What a cool episode, it had so much packed into it, I loved it!! ❤️❤️
Hey guys I’m from Central Oregon. Lived off grid for a few years tons of downs but some ups that make it a adventure - I now live in a tiny town on grid
Love that mushroom chair!
It is crazy how often mice cause absolute havoc! I make UA-cam videos in a similar spirit as you guys and after over a year of roadlife we bought a vintage caravan that we just renovated out in the middle of nowhere. The number of times since we've been out here that we've had issues from mice/voles is too many to count. We actually just discovered this week that mice are getting into one of our cars... love learning from you guys! Keep on keepin' on!
Hey guys! Remember that you may have to do maintenance, repairs, or replacements on your lithium/solar electrical system, even under difficult weather conditions. When you're choosing where to house the stuff, you may want to consider everything and do some work arounds in order to locate your system not too far away from your home. Just a thought......
Elsa munching on peppers watching Barron play :) LOL Great video as always guys.
Ive been watching you two for a long time (off and on).............Yall have came a long way.............Glad for yall too see some of the benifits.............Im old cant spell anymore..............your house is really nice for how ya:ll live............. Cant say enough good..
Barron. Get 2 cats and you won't have mice or rats!
The coyotes will think the cats are a snack.
Buy 2 airdale terriers
Cats will decimate all of the local critters, not just the mice. They’ll kill the birds, bugs, rodents. Not good for the ecosystem.
cats wont last out there...too many predators...only indoors if i were them..
Elsa…your hair is gorgeous!!!👠🚌👠
Elsa n Barron I fell asleep during live been watching now so happy for you guys getting solar! How cool 😎 We love Maple Syrup here in the South 😆
You 2 got this!! Thanks for sharing this moment in time and adventure with us today!! C ya in a bit!!!!
EDIT::: YAYYYYY!! Success all around!!
A/C got fixed..solar installed.. aaaannnddd.. we got to see Barron,n, Elsa...be creative on many levels!! ---- And---- we got to enjoy James' energies!! Awesomeness..c ya on the next video!!!!
Byeeee!!
👌🐺🤔🦊🤙
You have a great home, very artistic ☺️. The hard work is worth it 💯
OMG…Tropico! I played the crap out of that game back in the day. “ Exelency …the people are tired of watching the grass grow” 😂 looking forward to seeing the solar system come together. It can be daunting, but once you got it dialed in, you’ll be so happy. And you can always adjust it for your needs. ☺️✌️
LOVED this video!! The mixed content of you guys enjoying life as well as the updates on the build progress was so interesting. I do have questions - do you recycle your grey water? And do you collect your rainwater?
Congratulations to both of you!! Going completely solar is excellent!! you’ve made it possible with all those extra solar collectors.. you can have your washing machine!! Yeh!!
❤❤❤❤
The mural is spectacular! Truly talented people. ❤
We have that little tool kit too, it’s so cool!
Glad you could get the car fixed and Baron has good skill set. Elsa you look beautiful.. I know if I lived off grid that I would be so happy to be able to wash clothes at home! Do you have a wringer washer? See you soon
Ahhhhhhh Tropico!!!! I haven’t thought about that game in yyyyyyyyears!
Baron, you’re highly intelligent- have you already given consideration to the amount of snow you get in winter and how it’s going cover up your solar panels?
Can't he brush the snow off ? I am unfamiliar with solar and snow...
@@donnab9015but then he has to
Climb on the roof every time is snows. Maybe the track tilts?
When I was in Canada the most popular thing that was in the grocery store I went to was maple cookie’s. I still don’t like the smell of maple lol I smelled maple everywhere up there ( well it seemed like it especially after going to maple groves, they were HUGE!😂)
Hello, from Michigan!
The solar panel blow is giving N64 flashbacks. Been a hot minute since I’ve seen that move lol
Hahaha I thought the same thing!!!
i looove putting maple butter in my coffee, especially when i brew espresso over the top of it!
Well I live off grid in NH but 15 minutes to amenities, it's civilization off grid. I finally put the house on grid electric after 5 years but it's only a back up. I leave the main off at the box but it's a nice option. Still I have enjoyed watching and about to pull the trigger on a gently used 16 foot scamp. Cheers from Keene NH
Tool check plus is awesome , great handy acquisition
You are 100% perfect just as you are. Both of you are so amazingly beautiful in every way possible. I love you guys so much! Keep up the good work ❤
I am so excited to glean off of the solar set up!!!
lolol I'm a Vermonter and your maple syrup convo is hilarious.
I admire the topographic wall with each shot of area 🤗. Nice work of transporting those batteries, nd panel install. I could almost smell the car when you were cleaning it. Nice job by you and your friend on the blower 👍👍. I love pure maple syrup too. And no, I don’t think of pine trees when thinking of the syrup. 🤣
Hello from Oklahoma. Enjoyed today's video. ☺️
I would totally be down watching extended live streams of you guys playing video games!
like 3 hours from a home depot it gives me anxiety being that far away from things. you just never know
I’m completely with Barron on the maple syrup / Pine tree correlation. 🤷🏻♂️🤣
No makeup is a clue that this is worth watching.
Hi...gini, watching from the North coast of Scotland......❤
Hi, from Oklahoma 😊
Hi...central Texas
James what a LEGEND!
Hello, the Wera tool-check plus kit is made in the Czech Republic. It looks so handy, may purchase one for each our son and daughter. They are both outdoors zone people. 🤭🇨🇦
That contour line wall is amazing …….i love it.
You need to make a trip to vermont and visit these people who been sending the maple syrup and make a video of it
Fluoride is a industrial production byproduct, initially from nuclear production..(Manhattan Project) The US military industrial complex didn't want these byproducts to be discovered by "the enemy" so it was put into municipal water supplies and retail products, then propagandized through advertisements as health benefits.
Soft maple trees (sugar maples) are the source of a sap that is tapped from the inner bark during early spring when the sap starts moving in the trees.
It's then slow boiled to reduce to thick syrup.
About 10 gallons of sap = 1 gallon of syrup.
It's actually 40 gallons sap to one of syrup, which helps to explain why maple syrup is so expensive. Continued boiling and prep beyond the syrup stage, done right, will produce maple butter, and even further boiling to a candy stage will produce maple candy.
@@francesw.6774
Thanks for the update.
My homstead is full of soft maples but I've never tapped them.
I love ur music in background.
I used Battle Born batteries and Rich Solar panels along with the Victron components and blue tooth monitors. I have been very impressed. Hoping you have success as well.
Barron can fix anything❤ and James is just too cool he's such a good neighbor😊❤😊 I'm so glad y'all got the solar panels I can't wait to see the next video❤ the wall Elsa painted looks even prettier this time I love it❤ I can't wait to see what y'all do with the ceilings😊 cool game as well😊 I always enjoy the videos see you in the next one hug kamp and pilot for me❤❤❤
Ship lap or tongue n groove stained would be beautiful on your ceilings.
Was going to suggest a bucket trap and then you mentioned it. I let my husband deal with cleaning those out, but they are effective!
"Awh, there's a bird nest" 😂
