Cheers mate. Honestly, it’s a lush hike. A bit of everything. When planning it I planned it backwards, what with the tide times at holy island. They’ll have the timetable up now.
Firstly the colours on your video are incredible Steve. Is that a go pro?. Secondly. Ya cant half tell a rippin yarn 😂😂creased. What a lovely first section of your trail. I loved the tweed but yes agree it is a long stretch mind. Granted i only got to morebattle when i did it last year as i did me back in tripping on a tree route. You certainly had the weather 🎉
@@strollingsteve4271 I’ve just used mine on the Cleveland Way it’s a pretty brilliant tent really, spacious for one, a bit of a palace tbh. You happy with yours?
Thanks for sharing the journey. I’m hoping to start some training to do St Cuthberts Way later this year but I need to lose some weight and definitely get some distance walks in. It would be good to hear what you’ve brought with you, how you prepared for it, the weight of the pack etc if you get chance. Love your way of chatting to the camera 👍
Deliberately didn’t weigh it out, all I know is that the tent was 1.7kg. Didn’t want to obsess about it, but I certainly could have got it lighter. My boots were the main thing for me. Salomon X Ultra 4 Mid Gore-Tex. I done a few 10ish mile walks with the full weight before doing it. Making sure it was a varied walk with hills, etc. but I still found the first day a little tough. I found it easier after that. Just make sure you’re as comfortable as possible. Thanks for watching Greg mate. Much appreciated. If you need to know anything more please get in touch. It’s a lush enjoyable walk. So varied. What I’ve done is copied my tick list below (which is worth doing because I’d always forget something if I didn’t). Seems like a lot but wasn’t really. @@strollingsteve4271 that's a good point 👍
Great video mate
Thank very much mate. 👍🏻🥾
did you notice the sunburn shape on ya heed from your backwards facing cap ☀️🤣
😂 as the day went on I realised how warm and sunny it had been. But I hadn’t realised how bad the sunburn was until I started videoing in the tent. 🙄

Its just my iPhone 12. I think the weather made it look better! 😂
I’d love a go pro mind.
I’m adding this one to my list - I was thinking my next trip might be St. Oswald Way but now you got me thinking….. 😂
As I was approaching Holy Island I passed a few people starting the St Oswalds Way. Been thinking about doing that one myself.
@@strollingsteve4271👍btw I think we may have identical tents 😂
@@stushikesandrides I got mine for Xmas last year and that was its first real test. I loved being in it.

@@stushikesandrides more than happy. Like you say, really spacious. A doddle to put up as well.
