Steve I loved watching those videos! It’s one in the morning as I had to watch them all 😂 You’ve inspired me to start planning and preparing to give it a go. I like how you describe the route and talk about the landmarks and surrounding area as it gives context to your location at each point. I’m chuffed to bits for finding your series on this route and found myself smiling as I was watching! Down to earth, honest and friendly. Magic! 👍
Thanks Steve! We walked SCW in 2013 - our first multiday walk. Absolutely loved it. Watching your videos makes me want to do it again especially as we had such bad weather for Kirk Yetholm to Wooler that we could only see a metre in front of us. Your video for that day showed us what we missed. :) PS: we’re from another Newcastle (Australia)
G’day!!! Thanks for watching! I was so lucky with the weather that week. I enjoyed every day but that Kirk Yetholm to Wooler one would probably be my favourite, the views were cracking (sorry to rub it in! 😂). Get yourselves over again! It’s a fantastic trail.
Thanks Steve. I have very much enjoyed watching your St Cuthbert's Way walk. You had great weather and wonderful countryside to walk through and I can understand your delight, and sadness, when touching the wall of the Priory to complete the Way. I plan to walk the Borders Abbey Way later this month. Thank you again and I'll look out for your future walks.
Thank you so much for your kind words. The BA way is a one that I’ve thought about doing. It’s a gorgeous part of the world, you’ll love it…if the weather plays ball. 👍🏻🥾
Just finished watching all your SCW vids Steve as I’ve thought about doing this trail. Looks like you really enjoyed it and I also enjoyed sharing your experience. I’m pleased you grew stronger through the journey; always good to finish on a high 👍
Hello marra, just finished watching your tour, proper enjoyed it. After doing hadrians wall in May me and her indoors are looking to do cuthberts way next year. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated, looking at 6 days 7 nights, cheers, Jason .
Cheers mate. Much appreciated. 🥾👍🏻 Advice…don’t be put off by the steep beginning for starters. 😂 That being said, there’s a couple of climbs throughout the trail but the sense of achievement you get from getting up them is fantastic, as are the views. Plan your week backwards depending on the tide times at Holy Island. That makes all the difference. Also give yourself time to get back off it. Kirk Yetholm to Wooler is only 12 miles but it’s quite hilly in parts so give yourself time. Also there’s no shops in between so keep an eye on your water and food on that section. It’s a cracking trail. If you liked Hadrian Wall you’ll love this. Some of the views are stunning.
You're a fantastic guy Shaun ❤❤👍👍
Just found your channel, cracking journey mate 👍
Cheers mate. 👍🏻🥾
