You are one heck of an instructor. I am a teacher and am learning a lot from you about teaching as much if not more than painting!
That's so kind of you to say, thank you Linda! I'm so pleased you're enjoying the videos.
Thank you, Anna! This is so helpful! I am currently painting a super detailed painting and wanted to add a simple background. Thanks for sharing this technique!
Thanks so much for your great tips. Really appreciate your excellent instructions.
hi! thank you for sharing your knowledge! I started out as a watercolorist but after 21 years of watercolors, Pastels colored pencils, acrylics and ceramic tiles, I find that my skills as a watercolorist serve me best in my current art, hand-painted silks! It works just like watercolors and paper except the paper is more forgiving than the silk!!!
Again, thanks for sharing! You do beautiful work!
Thanks you Anna ... even better timing. I'm about start a series of painting featuring the heads of birds and mammals; however, my trial backgrounds were less than successful. Your method is straightforward and will give me the result I'm looking for. Thanks again.
Gorgeous! I love this tip!! I always struggle with what to do for backgrounds....it's kind of a relief to feel "allowed" to keep it simple, lol
Great tutorial. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for always inspiring me! Your art is amazing!
I'm so pleased that I've inspired you Terry. Enjoy painting!
I love ♥️ this tutorial I’m a new member to the school. I hope we get more tutorials with backgrounds or maybe a list of complimentary colours we could use to make backgrounds since I’m new I don’t really know colour theory yet.
Thanks Donna! Check out the Knowledge Base for some help with colour theory. There's a section about setting out your paints and I talk about the colour wheel in that section: www.annamasonart.com/school/equipment-materials/
Oh! Thank you; perfect timing as I just finished an Amaryllis and was stuck on how to proceed with the background. The stark white just wasn't getting it for me.This is very helpful.
