Yeah pylons are essential for the Don’t Dig Up seed. Which is all the better that happiness doesn’t exist in the seed, meaning that NPCs will always sell them.

The Shimmer Cloak is close. Most of the world pains are about to be mitigated.

at that point most of the challenge will be about the remix seed, unless its use gets mostly prohibited like the lava shark did

I like the Volcano. The other components have names that really sell that these aren't your average run of the mill swords. The Muramasa, the ultimate blade forged by Murasama, the Light's Bane, the end all be all cure to holy forces, the Bloody Butcherer, a weapon of mass goring and carnage, the Blade of Grass, a punny sword that embodies the natural forces of the jungle... and then there's the Fiery Greatsword, which is a fiery greatsword. The Volcano indicates it has power comparable to a volcanic eruption.
Volcano also really fits the explosion it has, which is a nice touch

The name Volcanic Greatsword would absolutely be the best of both worlds imo
This is extremely important! The ultimate absorbent sponge(all sponges combined) can soak up ANY liquid even the SHIMMER!!!! You should probably grind for it if you can for the mechs and plantera and expertly for golem🙂
The regular sponge also does that, but it would require doing fishing quests, so we'll see lol

There’s something so funny to me about an immortal being, fighting the most powerful demon in the underworld, with a legendary sword, crafted from some of the most powerful weapons… on a shark.

@@pedroivog.s.6870 death is less painful than being forced to watch a cutscene as you descend into madness. not to mention your dugout caves essentially being the only way past it all, so easy to mess up and undo all of your hard work. Lava at least gives you the benefit of ending it fast lol

Shimmer is a fun word to say. Just say it out loud, in a whispery, slightly slower than average, almost mysterious (?) voice, "s h i m m e r"

I've been doing some building with Shimmer and it looks _amazing_ in the Hallow. I'd love it if the Hardmode Crimson + Hallow transmutation _also_ transmuted water in the path of the Hallow to Shimmer.

Without a doubt, the best tip I have for you is to set up temporary spawn points with a bed as you travel up.
So happy to see the shark come out again. It’s probably my favorite mount to date, with its massive contrast on land vs liquid.
And it’s adorable 🥰
Could I watch someone play this just for the gameplay? No. Could I watch someone play this because of the dream team music in the background? YES. You've got an amazing taste in music, showing that some things are just way better with good music to go with them.
I like the name change to Volcano. Makes sense in a thematic way. All the other swords that go into the Night's Edge have special names.

Volcanus or Vulcan would have made it stand out much better from the other types of volcano in terraria (like the decorations and geyser)

Eh, kinda. I don't think that one is just a descriptor because a single leaf of grass is called a blade. And the recipe of the weapon includes vines and jungle spores.
If it was called "Leafy Greatsword" then it would also be a descriptor.

Farming wall of flesh seems like an amazing way to drain out some of that shimmer in the underworld since it always creates an air pocket with the square of bricks, honestly could be quite a viable strategy

@@Lunarcreeper boss fight panic button. Fight the bosses near the surface, and if your health gets low you drop down to heal up a bit and then continue the fight in the underworld.

It shredded WoF in my master mode game a few days ago, I was so worried about being prepared and I stockpiled a bunch of beenades to help but the sword just melted all the hungries lol

Awesome video, I love how hard you're working for this challenge! I feel like I'm in the minority of loving to fish in terraria, it takes a long time but it's so relaxing! I just hate fishing in hard mode because I feel like the evil biomes are creeping closer and closer to me while I'm fishing and I don't have a clentaminator 😅

These playthroughs have a similar very scuffed and chaotic feel as my first playthroughs of the game, but for me it was a bad thing and made me want to start over, whereas you just roll with it and make it into something amazing and one of a kind.

I know I’ve left quite a few comments already (sorry if you would count them as being “spammed out” at this point, I just like to respond to different parts of the video individually), but I just wanted to say thank you for this video. It’s been a rough week, and something more chill like this (chill for me, anyhow, I don’t know how it was making it) felt very calming/brought me warmth/peace, particularly with the chill aesthetics and amazing music choice. So, well, thanks- I hope you’re doing well (both of you), and I’m happy you’ve both been on the channel as of late :D I can go to these videos for peace or ridiculous challenges, and Deadbug’s for laughs, general hilarity, and the occasional more out there piece. Here's a huge tip you probably already thought of, but here it is anyway; get a mana cloak, and toss it into the shimmer. You'll be able to walk in small amounts, but touching down will instantly make you fall through.

At this point liquid worlds and the lava shark are second in the Walls nightmares to only bunnies.
Jumping into space is exclusive to this seed (and the everything seed of course), also equipping an inner tube at the bottom of an ocean in a non-shimmer filled world like this launches you at escape velocity due to the lowered surface gravity.
It’s so lame that they fixed explosive bunnies. That was one of the funniest things you could do in the game.
Haven't watched yet, but my guess is that there's going to be some bullet bouncing shenanigans.

The Wall of Flesh looks so derpy with its eyes brought right next to the mouth lol, and goddamn you shredded that thing good job!
One thing I'd heavily recommend investing time in finding: water walking boots, you can find em in any water chest and they work on shimmer, which means no more falling onto it and jumpscaring you, obviously a star cloak is more useful, but still, you can also get them by fishing anywhere in this seed, and it becomes a permanent solution once you turn em into terraspark

It makes me happy to see someone do challenges in vanilla terraria! I have a challenge that I've always wanted to see be done. The Challenge is an event drop only run. That means anything you get from goodie bags/presents is usable, natural growing pumpkins as they grow naturally due to the Halloween event that terraria has, but everything else you gain from Goblin army (& Goblin tinkerer), blood moon, frost moon (& Santa), solar eclipse, pumpkin moon, pirate invasion (& Captain), & old one's army (& bartender)
Man you've got really good music tastes, super metroid music, minish cap music and more !
I actually really like how the meteor looks like it's bursting from the 3rd dimension into the 2nd one.

Recommendation
Try to get the Party Girl to spawn so you can get bubbles, this way instead of draining everything out slowly you can map out what portion you need to drain. Everything drains out without more flowing in.
One thing that kinda trivializes the challenge, but I'm surprised you didn't mention, is blocking aetherium block production. If you get a few tiles of liquid, fill them up with platforms or other background objects (stone platforms work for lava, though you have to place the platforms first), then pour another liquid on top, no combination block will form but the higher liquid will still be used up. This lets you clear out vast amounts of shimmer from the underworld.
I still had ptsd from the wheel of fortune run. You said to take out the brain of cthulu and my first thought was what horror was gonna come from the spin.
Anyways, great video as always. The shimmer world seems to really make you think outside the box, and it's great

I'm most certainly too late for that, but the Muramasa can actually always be found in the first generated golden chest, counting from the entrance of the dungeon.
