- Terraria Skyblock, now with shimmer. This allows for a lot more creativity in how you approach this challenge, such as fishing up dangersense potions and uncrafting them into cobwebs to make beds. This was streamed live, the full streams are on the playlist below:

Actually, it is one person controlling two characters. They are just changing their voice whenever they speak as the other "person"

shimmer makes terraria skyblock way better, with stone and sand now you can get all the overworld biomes, desert with sand dupe, jungle seeds can turn into mushroom biome seeds and snow from ice globe for ice biome.
Plus with stone you can spawn rock golems to farm them so you can get more stone for underground hallowed biomes, this has more potential than last time.
What I really like about shimmer is that if your character is a mediumcore character, and the world is in expert or higher, you can progress by having only shimmer. Decraft your starting tools into wood and copper, and decraft the copper into stone into dirt. Die, and repeat. Eventually, you will get enough blocks do do stuff with. Then, once you get the merchant, get iron from decrafting anvils, make a bucket, kill lava slimes, scoop up the lava, and shimmer that into water. The jungle grass can also be obtained by placing mud, then placing corrupt seeds from the dryad during a blood moon, and purify it to get jungle grass.
Unfortunately, you do still need an altar and lihzahrd bricks placed somewhere in the world.
You can get stone just from gemcorn trees a lot faster

@@Peastablehe was talking about stone, not gems. Though, I agree that is a pretty effective way of obtaining gems.
@@TIwdaymif you put the merchant in the jungle he sells furnaces for like 2 silver, shimmer them and you get tons of stone, saves farming 20 at a time from gemtrees
Half of the game mechanics are missing because there’s no world, and it’s still more fast paced and proactive than minecraft skyblock. Here I was expecting the worse, but I imagine shimmer plays a massive role.
Terraria is more combat-oriented and the new updates added a lot of renewable resources and alternate ways to get them, i.e. magma stone -> lava charm (in shimmer)

thats cuz half of minecraft is exploring the world the only real way to get other unobtainable stuff in skyblock is making slab bridges randomly all over your world to find a biome you need (fishing in jungle gives 2 additional items (bamboo and cocoa beans)) and making mob grinders and getting villagers.. other than those 3 things theres basically nothing to do
@@bossSHREDDER210actually there's a secret 4th thing, overloading a chunk with bees and making the chunk reset grabbing you ask the stuff in it, there's a video about doing it in a one block world somewhere don't remember who it was tho
Adding shimmer to the mix makes it a lot more interesting since you can utilize the item conversion tricks it offers.

I love that there’s voices here because I usually love these videos but im often doing something else, which makes them hard to watch. great video
this is relatable although this is an edit of a livestream where they always use their voices (for obvious reasons). I don't think they release livestream cuts as videos very often so i'd recommend tuning in to some of the streams/VODs on the Wand of Frosting channel

Damnit, who keeps spreading the rumor that you need a hammer to dupe water?! You just make a "U" shape out of blocks, then hold click over the top of one side. The hammering makes no difference. People who play my maps keep asking in Discord how to get a hammer so they can dupe... You don't. Okay, otherwise... well executed, No other faults in the run from what I see in the clips. The focus was on fishing power, quest fish, and blocks. That's a large part of the grind done. Yeah, some quality of life mods go a long way in skyblock. If you were ever going to do it, and they get updated, I recommend the Reduced Grinding Mod, and Autofish. Magic Storage actually opens up some interesting progression with it's extra crafting stations.

Fun fact: if it weren’t for the murumasa the zenith would theoretically be obtainable due to other chest items being fishable, shimmer-able or craftable from boss drops (you get cholorphyte by shimmering lumanite down into it

Here we go again... I'm a skyblock map maker (Shimmering Skies, Brutal Skyblock), I'm always looking for vids of people playing skyblock, but sad that most folks don't research or shop around before they just start making their own. Time to debunk! Right at the start before deciding to add shimmer.... The jungle grass is totally unneeded, corrupt/crimson seeds = jungle seeds. Without Shimmer, 25 dirt is not technically required, but makes for rough block farming and Plantera seems to not like spawning. Simply having a pool of shimmer and enough blocks to spawn mobs opens up most of the game.... Yes skyblock has a good bit of pain and tedium, but with some creative design, even a minimalistic map doesn't have to be this grindy.
