get some vic firth practice tips, put em on your drumsticks, boom, great for quietly hitting cymbals, or even just getting a different sound out of them.
I love this guys videos! He looks like an awkward movie store clerk when he speaks. 😂 Lol. Overall, my favorite pad of all time is the Invader rubber pad. Can't go wrong with Invader pads 😏
Eric, nice video and very informative. As the owner of RamPad, I can't help but notice that you have not included either our Marching Series or the Symphonic Series in this Practice Pad Review. Please contact me and we can help get you on board. Robin Orr
The Remo practice pads are great..they can be 'tuned' like real drums to give the desired 'feel' of the head. I have several of them in various sizes up to 10". I've had mine for years and because they are real drumheads, the coating has worn off in the center down to the smooth mylar underbase but that doesn't affect their playability. The original versions had metal rims but some years ago they went to plastic rims..too many rimshots and they get chipped over time. That female screw on the underside is threaded for standard cymbal stand threading so you can mount them on a cymbal stand if you want. I'm a pipe band snare drummer and the best pad I've found that most closely approximates the feel of a pipe band snare drum is the Hugh Cameron 'Cadet' practice pad it comes in three versions 'regular', 'medium', and 'hard' which equates to the feel and rebound characteristics of the surface.
04-05-2020 Quarantine Comment: Well, It's getting pretty crazy being HouseBound ... So, I am posted a comment for each NEW video I watch .... This is the 13th "NEW" video for me ... Hagin 247 this might sound weird, but my drum teacher told me that I basically just have to chop out and just play singles for like an hour, and not fast singles either
@@emabboud8942 yea I actually kinda figured it out the day I posted that comment, I did that same idea and it works but you still have to continue that practice to keep it. Thank you for your input tho
Never put a just opened invader pad on a glass table because it will never come off if you use hard hands. I opened a new invader pad out of the box and it stuck to the glass because of the silicone layer on the bottom of the pad so I used a metal scrape thing to get it off and it took 5 minutes
As a bass drummer, I feel a very primal pain as I see him playing bass with a snare technique. I was telling my baseline to choke down on their sticks all season.
What sticks do you use? I recently bought Ralph Hardimons and they're bigger that what i remember. Maybe I'm just getting used to (Buddy Rich)drumset sticks. But i want a good marching stick, just not as beefy.
EMCproductions what snare stick? Or are you using hardimons? Or, maybe you are using tenor sticks in the video and i just can't tell. Thanks. My eyes are getting old.
i use the offworld blue chameleon pad, and its pretty good, and it comes with a replacement middle, just in case the original sweetspot wears out. i ordered a Xymox snare pad recently and I am definitely going to make the xymox my main pad.

The thing with the putty pad is that you usually roll it out much more with your sticks.
