Glad it helped! A very solid overview Snareman! If you get a chance, I'd enjoy seeing an overview of the Carlos Botello Signature Pad from Beetle Percussion. (it's one I'm considering... He does some great videos featuring the Left Hand Path method online) I've still been using my old RealFeel from the 90s, and I'm looking to get a new pad. (Which is why I stumbled on your channel) Cheers!

This was absolutely without a doubt one of the best comparisons I've ever seen.
We're in the same age group, I never got to your lever "Blue Devils" although who knows, I may have seen you if you ever competed up in the North East. Anyway, I played snare in my high school marching band and all the other music departments that go along with it (jazz band, playing in the pit during high school musicals) I still play often and in my kitchen up on a shelf I have a set of Vic Firth corp master chop out, they have the rubber head on the tip of the stick. So while my wife is cooking dinner sometimes I'll pull them down and blast out some rudiments on the kitchen counter! lol Anyway, I do plan on buying a nice quality pad with that "snare" sound. Before this video I thought only Xymox offered that. Well two of the other ones you played I thought sounded great, and looked cool, so I'll be checking those out. Thanks so much. I watched the entire video and by the end I was "almost" following along! lol Pickup out the rim shots where necessary.

The drum solo was never written down. A few of us in the snare line made it up early in the season to replace whatever was there before. Not sure about the cadence .
