Very helpful guide for someone who hasn't played this game in 15 years! A couple of things I noticed: 1. You don't need 47 STR for the Ancient's Pledge runeword. It inherits the Str requirement of your shield, so a Large Shield would require 34 str, for example. 2. You can easily create the Ancient's Pledge runeword in act 1 by farming Countess for 4 Ral runes and a Tal rune. She drops these very commonly (in my experience, much more frequently than even Tir, which is lower level). Combine 3 Ral to make your missing Ort. The two Tir runes you mentioned are extremely helpful. Killing 4-5 enemies returns the cost of the Nova spell for me right now. It's much better than Mana Regen at the early stages!

I somewhat agree but i really hate the potion chugging until you get the higher rune words. Dumb question........how in the hell do I go further than like....30 feet without needing to go back to town for mana pots?! Im at level 23 and I have slowed down significantly for constantly needing health/mana.
Raise your energy stat and start raising the warmth skill. I usually get 40 vitality, no dexterity, only enough strength to wear my armor, and the rest goes into energy. No Mana equals you are dead. Don't worry about running out of hell so worried about running out of mana.
Not stopping to fight every monster is helpful aswell. Pick your battles o know you probably figured it out by now but just in case I play with the sorcerer I need mana is a issue a bit still but I’m learning to

Also how come y'all didn't mention getting Insight for your mercenary? Literally the only reason I've been able to make it as far as I have. But I have made like 8 stealth and have them all divided up between my characters and everything so after I beat the game on Hell? I'll be set up to get my next class through it... I'm trying to get as much of the Platinum as I can get done on the PlayStation as possible
i have a question , me personally i make fire sorc with a leaf till respec to cold , why you are using meteor instead of firewall? in hell with cold immunes you cant slow down them to reach with meteor , firewall seems its better idea {no offense just my opinion} if you can explain me why meteor maxed and firewall not i will appreciate it , i enjoy your content , have a nice day.
Dumping points into warmth and shopping a +3 inferno staff makes you way stronger at level 6-19. Even if you only put one base point in inferno on your way to firewall, it still hits harder than anything else until 18. Make a leaf staff with +3 inferno at 19 and you’re doing 300+ dps with inferno with only one base point in it, and you can focus on firewall. Having 300% regen on warmth totally eclipses many other options. Not sure why people are using charged bolt or these weird hybrid setups now that inferno is fixed and firewall gets senergies from warmth.
Pretty much the way I go, and I was always experimenting and found that frozen orb/firewall on a brand new ladder character ended up being the strongest all round and a low point investment required
Speed runners focus on nova. Because it takes less time. So, the meta has shifted to lightning. I’m doing lightning and missing the power surge of leaf. The rune word boost is designed with casters in mind.
Thanks Rhykker, love your guides. Picked this up as a result of all the drama over Immortal. Good move dropping the cancer that is Diablo Immoral! Nobody should support it in any way - we must preserve the integrity of PC and Console gaming at all costs!
There is a unique charm now (or how they are called in english?) that makes cold immune no longer cold immune, it has also -75 cold resistance but since that item exist (I don't know since when but when I played before diablo 4 released in early 2023 I think it didn't exist), this charm should allow us to kill everything with blizzard or?! means we don't have to spend points into fire and don't know if we need a merch that has an aura which doesn't give us anything, I remember that at least for non-sorcs that cold aura which slows enemy down was always nice and could be nice for sorcs too as it slows enemies down, so the chance that they attack you is much lower when you teleport for example, but thanks for the first 11-13 minutes! I made tomb runs until 25 but was lucky to get a free spirit-sword (no cristall sword but who cares, 47 str) in my first baal run, the guide really helped me compared to my first sorc which I started with ice blast as my main dmg skill which works too but nova is way better and the armor and tir+tir helmet are really nice :)
I think going fire first is the best. The damage Leaf is just too hard to ignore. Plus it’s very easy to get a decent base using Drog in a2. +3fball +1-3fbolt But if you don’t wNna spend a large amount looking for both +3skills then just go for +3fball
IMO best way playing sorc is: 1-33 fire skills tree, 33-66 cold skills tree, 66-99 lighting skills tree. Static field, energy shield, cold shield, cold armor, teleport asap but just 1 point. Then use equip which maximize sorc skills. This build is OP trust me. And as weapon use the Razorswitch for max resist and being even more OP. For merc def merc act II with reaperstoll ohm and a andariels visage helemet. Some tanky armor for merc. In best way ethereal for merc. For sorc just max lv runewords.
I really wish you would have included that farming Countess for Runes is best done on "1" instead of increasing the player count as she drops MORE RUNES on level 1 :D had to learn this the hard way.
If playing online: Dex: 42 if you grab an Alibaba...Gull never drops, but Baba does...people trade them cheap. Runewords: Stealth...good stuff. Ancients Pledge is fine too. Make Spirit and Insight ASAP. Fill an armor and helm with Flawless Topaz, or make Rhyme/Splendor ID blue rings for some FCR and or mf, try to get a skill ammy. Buy or find some mf gloves, easy. Get some R/W boots. Go full Blizz, dont bother with Fire until youre doing Hell. Just farm meph, do some baal exp runs until 75. Do this, and all of it will be replaced within hours with the stuff you find.
I suggest you put more points on mana or equip +mana gears until level 30. Sorceress is mana driven character and it will be more safer running in dungeons...
I personally prefer Fireball Sorc to level through normal. Leaf staff is OP and awesome for mana management. You can teleport around more too. Stealth also grants mana regen so between leaf and stealth you should have way less problems with mana upkeep.
I'm playing on console and Blizzard + Meteor unfortunately is not viable with controller, because you can't properly aim them. Can I go with Orb + Fireball instead? Sure hope so, because that's what I'm doing so far :D
im curious why you don't invest 1 point into warmth. 30% mana recovery rate passive is pretty good no? most other guides I have watched tend to invest 1 point there
@@michaellao7264 gotta have those 1 point wonders man, warmth, telekinesis, teleport etc. extremely vital when u get to hell. plus if you get charm skillers or skiller gear it boosts them a bit too which is always nice. atm im running tal rasha set with spirit monarch, 1 fcr ring and some resist stuff and then waterwalk boots with magefist gauntlets (+1 to fire skills) and im literally blowing through hell. only played this character for around 20 - 24 hours and already im at kurast bazaar hell difficulty (a lot of that time spent farming nm mephisto and such). also got insight and treachery on my merc
@@michaellao7264 best advice i can give you since im sort of in the same boat as you. Trading discords are your best friend when u reach act 1 hell. can get a nice head start if u farm p.gems unes beforehand or if ur fortunate enough to get good skiller charms thats also a good way to get ur character going trading for some nice gear unewords. 4os polearms are quite high demand also depending which you get. Also farm a lot of countess in nm\hell, runes are one of the most important forms of currency
Nova is real good but I would suggest Fireball. Grab Telekinesis, Teleport, Static, Warmth and maybe Ice Armor. Put a couple points into Fire Bolt until level 12 and then dump every point into Fireball. Shop a +2-3 Fireball 2-socket staff, Tir-Ral and suddenly you have +5 or 6 extra levels in Fireball right at level 19. That’ll double the damage Fireball does and will last you to Hell if you use your Merc to handle the few mandatory Fire Immunes (Lord De Seis, Ancients and first Baal Wave). Replace Leaf with Spirit-Spirit/Ancient’s Pledge/Rhyme when you change to another spec in Hell, or keep going Fireball and just ignore any non-mandatory Fire Immune.

Your videos have really helped me get into and learn the game well. I ended up using the guy who puts sockets into an item early without knowing how helpful it could be. Is it possible for a crystal sword, or even just a regular sword in general to drop and have 4 sockets?
I'm level 17, don't play online and I don't have the cube. I'm in act 2 and may go back and farm after watching this. Trying to decide between using a 2hndr or wand and shield.
Usually i start as fire (with nova i was usually stuck in animations, enemies where hitting me and I couldn't cast anything). So maybe I will try hydras. I go like this: fireball -> frozen orb + firewall - > after 80lvl i have enought points to invest into blizzard + firewall
I play the old diablo 2 not the newer resurrected version but I love to play it I don't think I should still be a in nightmare with my level 56 sorceress but it works
Guys what's an alternative for someone who made the build exactly like it's being said, but don't want to respec into a Blizzard Sorc, because I don't like the how the skill works. What's the alternative? For someone who wants to reach late game and proper play through all difficulties? What's another sorc which is begginer friendly, easy to manage and not to expensive in terms of itens/grind? My question really is, what should I respec other than blizzard around the level 24?
So it don't matter if you kill the Cow King even if you do can you still run the cow level over and over?Used to be if you killed the Cow King you could no longer do the not so secret cow level.
back then in the day when i played the original and was farming the bosses on the highest difficulty you needed to be in a full game for the drops to be at their best quality/chance. how does D2R handle this? is it the same mechanic?
Hi there, on the written Maxroll guide for the ancients pledge you state to use the act 5 quest 1 socket reward twice. Once to make Ancients Pledge, and another time to make the Spirit base. Doesn't Larzuk only socket once per difficulty?
I'm sure he meant a5 q2 for runes and buy shield in act2. And use socket quest for cs/broad sword for spirit. Just make sure cows are not tz because cs will have higher item level and will get more then 4 sockets
Hello Rhykker and thanks for this video. I am new and complete noob to diablo and I follow this build. I was wondering if I could use the socket reward in act 5 to make the Insight instead of the Spirit that is recommended on this guide so I don't have to use so many mana potions. If Insight would work can I use any base staff or polearm that can take 4 sockets or I have to use a specific one? Thank you
awesome guide. will use this closely except for the meteor. I love blizzard + hydra so that's the only thing I will change (hydra for meteor) hydra just so cool it must be mandatory for me : D

The two Tir runes you mentioned are extremely helpful. Killing 4-5 enemies returns the cost of the Nova spell for me right now. It's much better than Mana Regen at the early stages!

You need to be in normal deficulity to shop after item that you can use to runewords :) on nightmare and above you can only buy blue items :)
I'm at lvl 76 on my Sorcereress... this guide has made that possible but Hell is definitely difficult... Act 2, just did Viper Temple.
Thank you so much. This made the game infinity more playable and enjoyable.
RAL+ORT+TAL at lvl21 ..
you can shop Large shield with 3 sockets from Charsi (ACT1)
3xRAL=ORT
Omg. I hadn’t thought of that!
i have a question , me personally i make fire sorc with a leaf till respec to cold , why you are using meteor instead of firewall? in hell with cold immunes you cant slow down them to reach with meteor , firewall seems its better idea {no offense just my opinion} if you can explain me why meteor maxed and firewall not i will appreciate it , i enjoy your content , have a nice day.
100% This. This nova build is 100x worse than just firewalling
Speed runners focus on nova. Because it takes less time. So, the meta has shifted to lightning. I’m doing lightning and missing the power surge of leaf. The rune word boost is designed with casters in mind.
Thanks, newb at the game, but i was looking at the skills and the mana regen from warmth seems nice.
Do you have a link to this build ? New player here
Hey Rhykker, have you done a guide video on how to get a torch ?
Please do a end-game socceres build guide as well 🙏🏼 I really like your D2 Res and D3 videos
I went for insight before spirit. I don't regret it. Not having to chug potions constantly is a huge quality of life improvement.
great video, thank you for the patience and love putting into this
Thanks Rhykker, love your guides. Picked this up as a result of all the drama over Immortal. Good move dropping the cancer that is Diablo Immoral! Nobody should support it in any way - we must preserve the integrity of PC and Console gaming at all costs!
That's the guide i've been looking for. Thank you!
As a veteran D2 player, I must say, good job man... Excellent guide!
Nerd
“veteran” what a loser
Normal fireball 1-30. 30-80ish frozen orb shreds normal and nightmare naked. 75-80+ go blizz.
I bet we will see more videos like this about other classes and so on soon!
There is a unique charm now (or how they are called in english?) that makes cold immune no longer cold immune, it has also -75 cold resistance but since that item exist (I don't know since when but when I played before diablo 4 released in early 2023 I think it didn't exist), this charm should allow us to kill everything with blizzard or?! means we don't have to spend points into fire and don't know if we need a merch that has an aura which doesn't give us anything,
I remember that at least for non-sorcs that cold aura which slows enemy down was always nice and could be nice for sorcs too as it slows enemies down, so the chance that they attack you is much lower when you teleport for example, but thanks for the first 11-13 minutes!
Man that roll on your spirit sword almost made me cry with only 26% FCR 😢
IMO best way playing sorc is: 1-33 fire skills tree, 33-66 cold skills tree, 66-99 lighting skills tree. Static field, energy shield, cold shield, cold armor, teleport asap but just 1 point. Then use equip which maximize sorc skills. This build is OP trust me. And as weapon use the Razorswitch for max resist and being even more OP. For merc def merc act II with reaperstoll ohm and a andariels visage helemet. Some tanky armor for merc. In best way ethereal for merc. For sorc just max lv runewords.
Great Vid Rhykker. Keep bringing us Diablo 2 content. Currently playing Trapsin Assasin.
I really wish you would have included that farming Countess for Runes is best done on "1" instead of increasing the player count as she drops MORE RUNES on level 1 :D had to learn this the hard way.
If playing online:
Dex: 42 if you grab an Alibaba...Gull never drops, but Baba does...people trade them cheap.
Runewords: Stealth...good stuff. Ancients Pledge is fine too. Make Spirit and Insight ASAP.
Fill an armor and helm with Flawless Topaz, or make Rhyme/Splendor
ID blue rings for some FCR and or mf, try to get a skill ammy. Buy or find some mf gloves, easy.
Get some R/W boots.
Go full Blizz, dont bother with Fire until youre doing Hell. Just farm meph, do some baal exp runs until 75.
Do this, and all of it will be replaced within hours with the stuff you find.
Don't waste your time with dex for alibaba...gul dagger is so easy to gamble.
I suggest you put more points on mana or equip +mana gears until level 30. Sorceress is mana driven character and it will be more safer running in dungeons...
Yeah I usually go like 30 pts energy for my first fire spec, second respec gets no energy BC of finding enough sapphires etc.
i can recommend frozen orb as a better skill for nightmare - once in a3 hell respec into blizz (or hydra in 2.4)
Very beginner friendly guide, thank you!
There's going to be a ladder in the game now?
I personally prefer Fireball Sorc to level through normal. Leaf staff is OP and awesome for mana management. You can teleport around more too. Stealth also grants mana regen so between leaf and stealth you should have way less problems with mana upkeep.
Rewatching for the new ladder season thanks
Superior quality video Rhykker. Guide very well explained. Keep them coming !
My post sums it up in 10 seconds. Took that guy 20 mins.
@@forestcityfishing4749 I'm supporting his work, if ya ain't got nothin nice to say then move along
And your post explains nothing
Very nice intro to this video. Looks awesome!
The link to the build no longer works?
I'm playing on console and Blizzard + Meteor unfortunately is not viable with controller, because you can't properly aim them. Can I go with Orb + Fireball instead? Sure hope so, because that's what I'm doing so far :D
I can't help but wonder what was originally said at 9:49. :-P
Can someone PLEASE explain to me the Orange Arrow on items/sockets??? What does it mean? I see them on the website. Thank you.
im curious why you don't invest 1 point into warmth. 30% mana recovery rate passive is pretty good no? most other guides I have watched tend to invest 1 point there
Same I struggled following this guide until I point 1 point into it
@@michaellao7264 gotta have those 1 point wonders man, warmth, telekinesis, teleport etc. extremely vital when u get to hell. plus if you get charm skillers or skiller gear it boosts them a bit too which is always nice. atm im running tal rasha set with spirit monarch, 1 fcr ring and some resist stuff and then waterwalk boots with magefist gauntlets (+1 to fire skills) and im literally blowing through hell. only played this character for around 20 - 24 hours and already im at kurast bazaar hell difficulty (a lot of that time spent farming nm mephisto and such). also got insight and treachery on my merc
@@AaronWOfficial coming back into d2 for the first time in about 15 years. I don’t remember a single thing. These comments and vids help though 👍
@@michaellao7264 best advice i can give you since im sort of in the same boat as you. Trading discords are your best friend when u reach act 1 hell. can get a nice head start if u farm p.gems
unes beforehand or if ur fortunate enough to get good skiller charms thats also a good way to get ur character going trading for some nice gear
unewords. 4os polearms are quite high demand also depending which you get. Also farm a lot of countess in nm\hell, runes are one of the most important forms of currency
@@AaronWOfficial people don’t use gold for trading?
Great video and explained in a way which is easy to understand..will you come up for some content for endgame sorceress soon?
Awesome video! Can you do the same but for modded game which gives 10 attributes and 2 skill points per level?
I am a long time fan of your videos and content, and I would like to say that one of the reasons why I keep coming back to your channel is that I like the way your voice sounds, very professional. As a radio speaker and content creator myself I understand how powerful a good voice is.
Rhykker better be doing this for every class
"manage from Old French manège horsemanship, from Latin noun manus hand.
ment, in Vulgar Latin and Old French it came to be used as a formative in nouns of action."
Basicly "handling".
I love etymology.
Love the intro and the rest of the video!
Is meteor better than hydra? I am lvl72 sorceress struggling a lot on hell act 2. I am very unlucky with dropping good gear although my MF is 150%
Just made my first spirit since playing lod ladder waaayyy back in the day... I made it in an etheral broad sword I found and it came out with 35 fcr!
i just made an ancients pledge in act 3. just cubed some runes until I got one ort rune then farmed countess for tal and ral. didn't even take me that long
Awesome and very helpful guide Sir but I do love how you say you may be at the cow level / finished Normal by a certain low level, I've never gotten to that point that low😭😂
Yeah I was 30 when I got out of normal
Thank you for this guide, but I think try this one and fireball. And fire ball much easy for leveling, realy )) You can take leaf from tower and apply it to staff with +2 to fire ball and totally you get +5 to fire ball. It would be great if you show alternative way in guides )
Thanks for the guide. In the beginning you said 45 energy and then after you had 35 again. How come? Didn't get it.
The new intros are awesome! Professional stuff.
I always only get 1 point into charged bolt, then shop a +3 staff from akara... they are very common and not that expensive ^^
2.5hours to Ladder WHOOO ! nova sorc here i come baby 2.4 bring it EVEN AS 22+years veteran D2 player I enjoyed watching the video - WELL DONE RYKER! more peaople need to get in this awsome game
Your videos have really helped me get into and learn the game well. I ended up using the guy who puts sockets into an item early without knowing how helpful it could be. Is it possible for a crystal sword, or even just a regular sword in general to drop and have 4 sockets?
i got a mana problem and always dead at act 4 i wonder what's wrong with it :(
Just hit the same wall as well. Upgraded nova chews through mana and the damage falls off.
Go with Firebolt/Fireball instead. Way more mana friendly if you make a Leaf staff.
I use a holy freeze merco as it allows more secure game by slowing down all mobs even the ones that are immune to cold.
followed this guide and is fantastic! but sadly got to nightmare and went through WP and died to the loading screen
Nm hydra is a pain. The damage just isn't there for a long time
@@Mike-om4tv I think you dont saw 2.4 patch notes... HydraSorc is tier A now.
Do u have to get stealth in the first act. Or can it be any armor with 2 sockets?
Fire leveling with leaf seems faster, no?
I play the old diablo 2 not the newer resurrected version but I love to play it I don't think I should still be a in nightmare with my level 56 sorceress but it works
how do yo put your skill beside the life bar
when to respec?
First time. At lvl 24 or 75 ?
Guys what's an alternative for someone who made the build exactly like it's being said, but don't want to respec into a Blizzard Sorc, because I don't like the how the skill works. What's the alternative? For someone who wants to reach late game and proper play through all difficulties? What's another sorc which is begginer friendly, easy to manage and not to expensive in terms of itens/grind? My question really is, what should I respec other than blizzard around the level 24?
how much better is blizzard than ice sphere? or ice orb, or whatever it is?
Wonder if there is any video where Rhykker didn't use the word "tremendous"
So it don't matter if you kill the Cow King even if you do can you still run the cow level over and over?Used to be if you killed the Cow King you could no longer do the not so secret cow level.
what number should i set my offline difficulty scaling?
As much as you can handle without loosing too much kill speed to gain more xp 😊
Dude ur voice tone is amazin
Why ice blast instead of Glacial Spike?
back then in the day when i played the original and was farming the bosses on the highest difficulty you needed to be in a full game for the drops to be at their best quality/chance. how does D2R handle this? is it the same mechanic?
More players means more drops, yes
I’m supposed to be in act 5 at lvl 21? I call bull. I’m lvl 21 getting owned buy everything in act 2
Crank it down to /p1, hamie.
Just make sure cows are not tz because cs will have higher item level and will get more then 4 sockets
with the changes/fixes to mana drain, Energy Shield will become new meta. just 1 point into ES is GG while leveling and hell farming.
Thank you
Can't wait for the FoH video :)
awesome guide. will use this closely except for the meteor. I love blizzard + hydra so that's the only thing I will change (hydra for meteor) hydra just so cool it must be mandatory for me : D
Does this guide refer to ladder only or single player as well
