- Lewis and Clark by Tommy Emmanuel. I have been working so hard on Endless Road and Pink Panther that I needed a break and play something else. And I remembered that some of you have been asking for my cover of this song. From picking up the guitar to uploading on UA-cam, this was quick work and done in less than an hour...

Kudos Tim for this fantastic song! It's one of my favorites of Tommy. You did an outstanding job playing it! I've spent hours each day the last few weeks trying to learn it from your lesson videos. For me, it's one of the hardest Tommy songs I've attempted.
It's deceptive, isn't it? In terms of technique it's certainly not his hardest song, but it is so elegant and fragile... The amount of control needed, both in playing and dynamics, is considerable!
After practicing daily for weeks and using good practice techniques (playing slow, going over difficult sections in small segments, learning timing) I'm really starting to get it down.@@TimVanRoy

I have played "Train To Düsseldorf" in the past, and I expect it to take quite some time to get that back up to speed. But I'm sure it will be done in the future!

Thanks Marx! I think the build of the guitar is a big part in that "trebly" sound: this model has maple back and sides and sounds really bright. Tommy plays maple guitars too, that is probably why it sounds close!

Nice job!! On average, how long does it take you to learn these arrangements? How long do you practice on a daily basis? Or have you learned there from a while back? You put them out fairly quickly?
This one I have been playing for years! It was only matter of setting up the mics and pressing "record". Most of the recent tutorials are new songs for me however, and the time it takes to learn really depends on the song. I'm currently working on Endless Road and it is taking forever, with new parts around every corner. I started work on Man With The Green Thumb just to play something else for a change, and that song took me less than a week. So it really depends on the song...
@@TimVanRoy endless road I struggle on the strumming mixed with the hybrid picking very difficult and frustrating.
@@austin9644 That is a very specific technique Tommy is using. I am working on the tutorial, but it is turning out extremely long. Parts 1-3 are already online on my Patreon page, and looks like this will be a 5- or even 6-part tutorial in total. So help is on the way 😎

I'm using a pair of Neumann KM184's (one at the bridge, one at the 12th fret). They aren't cheap, but you won't have to search for long to find much more expensive mics either!

I do have a few old originals (they are on UA-cam as well), but when the channel grows some more I'll rerecord them in a way that is up to modern standards!

Dag Arnold! Altijd Elixir snaren voor akoestische gitaar. Ik hoor weinig of geen verschil tussen de coatings of legering, de dikte is altijd 012 voor standaard stemming.
Not quite TE's hand strength and upward thumb strumming, but pretty fine just the same.
