Thanks Brandon! You (the supporters on Patreon) are really carrying the channel at this time. I (and hopefully everyone enjoying the tutorials for free) can't thank you enough.
I absolutely love this song, and I agree: it should be on his greatest hits. This was the song that made me finally stop the "Live at St. Louis" DVD, get my guitar and start and try to figure out what he was doing.
How come you didn’t add the casacading harmonics if this is based on the performance at Sheldon hall. I’m only asking because that’s one of Tommy’s signature things. I’ll be using your tutorial regardless and I will figure out the cascading harmonic myself as there simple
I thought I'd like to learn this beautiful song, but then I then I watched you make that five-fret stretch in the intro...🤯 There is no way my 67 year old fingers are playing that. Maybe I could play that E note on the 5th string/7th fret?
Thumb picks aren’t as good for certain types of picking patterns, especially when skipping strings, lots of upwards picking etc. you could totally do a facsimile of this song with a thumb pick but it likely wouldn’t sound exactly the same.
Yep, sort of what Julian says: (flat)picks are easier to handle when it comes to picking across strings, like the arpeggios you see in this song. But I'm pretty sure Tommy could play this just as well with a thumbpick 🤨
The tutorial for this song was one of the very first tutorials I made! You can see I'm still very nervous about talking on camera and all 😅. If you search for it on my channel it should pop up right away!

I have to admit when reading this comment my first thought was "Are there cascading harmonics in the Sheldon Hall version??". I went back to check and you are right! As soon as the part came up I could remember playing it myself, I guess it must've slipped my mind somewhere over the years. So well spotted!
I’m so happy you re-recorded this song. I believe the earlier cover you did on the parlor guitar didn’t have the full intro on that particular version. I could be crazy but don’t think I imagined it. Beautiful song and as with all your covers so well done.
Indeed, the previous version was without the full intro: the parlor was setup for a bit more "heavy hitting", and that huge stretch simply wouldn't sound out right! Good memory you have there 😎
I know, it's insane, right? The first time I saw Tommy play it I thought I by myself "that couldn't have been what I thought it was.". But sure enough 😅. But I do provide an alternative in the tutorial!
Meraviglioso chitarrista e meraviglioso insegnante...oramai non posso piu fare a meno dei tuoi tutorial. GRANDE TIM!!!!!
Grazie, very nice to hear! I'm launching my own website soon, with all my videos and new material that will be added. Stay tuned :)

Amazing as usual! 👏 glad someone can bring this level of quality to tommy emmanuel covers. Anything else never does it justice.
That's a big compliment! Thanks Benedict!
Bravo, my friend Bravo!!
Such an underrated TE song. I’m always surprised when this one doesn’t end up on his greatest hits records. Amazing job as usual man!!

Good afternoon, please tell me what model of guitar this is?

bravissimo!
Wow beautiful. What's the difference between hybrid picking and just using a thumb pick ? Also, what an outro!

This time you did the large stretch 💪
I had to, the video had to be 100% correct for the Soundslice file 😅
If you will make a video tutorial for this song, it will be so awesome. Because this is a really incredible song.

@@TimVanRoy it’s my one of my favorite details that Tommy sneaks into his pieces he adds somthing different that most composers dont
Awesome so delicate!
Btw have you plans to work on "Eva waits" Tim?
The song drives me crazy and not being able to play it crazier🤪
Thanks! "Eva Waits" is not yet on the schedule, but I'll put it in the list with requests... That is list is getting really long. 😅

Круто, Тим! 🙂
lekker gewerkt tim
Jeetje... man man wat speel jij relaxed
Daar zit het slaaptekort door de (hele) kleine kinderen hier thuis misschien wel voor iets tussen 🤣
Have toturial ?
Yes, it will be reposted soon! The licensing for the parts has to be cleared first!
Espero muito que entenda português, mais grande parte das musicas do tommy devo tudo a você.... muito obrigado!
Para nossa sorte, existe o google translate... and if that sentence isn't correct it's googles fault 🤓 Thanks a lot Luis!
That is a massive stretch in the Intro for certain! LOL

приємно..
Dumb me, i thought he want to do lesson xD
The lesson is already online! Just have a look on my channel, the full tutorial is already public.
