  • In this video I review and demonstrate the AEG Lavatherm 8000 Series heat pump tumble dryer.
    Key Features
    8kg drum capacity - great for medium-sized households
    Efficient A+ energy rating
    Efficient Heat Pump technology uses less energy
    Settings are automatically adjusted for better results
    Dimensions (cm) - H85 x W60 x D60
    Product Overview
    Combining the latest technology and excellent performance, this AEG heat pump tumble dryer is a great choice. Its 8kg drum means it’s ideal for medium-sized households, and its A+ efficiency rating makes it kind to the environment too. With heat pump technology, the hot air created inside the drum is recycled to dry your clothes, instead of using a traditional heating element, making it the most efficient way to dry. Intelligent ProSense® Technology uses sensors to work out the best drying conditions for laundry too, by automatically adjusting settings to create a perfectly tailored cycle for the load.

    They both look very fancy and packed with technology. You should do a update video after 6 months, it would be nice to know if they both working fine. My washing machine broke down after many years of service. The engineer that come out to repair said once fixed should last for a long time. He said the new machines have to much technology but don't last as long.

    1hr 40 mins and the clothes are not dry ,this seems to be the issue with heat pump dryers ,they maybe super efficient , but bloody useless at drying compared to a standard condensing dryer ,some people are willing to wait an age for the clothes to dry and save money me I’d rather dry quick and pay more ,personally a large house hold with the washing machine on the go most the time ,especially in the winter the heat pump dryers are not suitable and would be running them 24hr a day to keep up ,
    Could you tell me how long to dry a duvet. ?

      I don’t often have the problem of things not drying first time. I tend to use the cotton programme and press the dryness button until the full sun symbol shows. Make sure the filter is cleaned after every use and of course empty the water container. Also make sure you don’t overload the dryer as that can result in clothes coming out partly damp.

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  7 місяців тому

      It’s a heat pump tumble dryer and will take a long time to dry, especially bigger loads. As far as I know, the cotton setting would be hottest, though the dryer doesn’t really get hot in the way a traditional high wattage tumble dryer would. I still use this machine and I don’t have any problems with it how long it takes, but I tend to set and forget it as it’s in my garage. Heat pump dryers will take a long time to dry items, especially a full cotton load, they are much kinder to fabrics but no good for people who have several loads to dry and want them dried in a hurry.

      He didn't measure the actual time the dryer uses for its work. We just see the estimated time, and then later the dryer is ready. Would need a separate stop to get the actual drying time. Also you can see that the garment was not really dry after the dryer finished its work. So to be fair, a comparison should show the same amount of washing dried to the same grade. Many heatpump dryers are known to not dry very good with default settings. It's just for the brochure...

    I bought one of these 2 months ago. Is totally crap. In fact, calling it crap would be a massive insult to anything else that is crap. Already it needed a sparky out to fix a loose circuit. On top of that, it doesn't dry clothes. Somewhat odd, as it's meant to be a dryer after all. There's noway i'd recommend one of these. Totally unusable settings and the need to run sometimes 5 cycles to get stuff dry. Any of the claims of the drying times are totally unbelievable.

    This is a dehumidifier with a drum - same principle, would like to have one as I like environmentally friendly things ☺️ said to be more greener than standard vented/condenser types. I currently live with my family (parents & brothers) and have a indesit washer-dryer IWDE7145S, mostly used as a washer - my mum only uses the dryer function to fluff up hand/bathroom towels - the rest is hung on the washing line/in the house. We avoid using the dryer function because of the amount of energy it uses - why the vented/condenser types are disliked. The type of condenser used in this is very old (deprived from the steam age) - a fan, column and mister;
    At the start of the cycle, a centrifugal fan turns on, blowing the air in a closed circuit, the washers heating element heats up the air, then drawn into the bottom of a long column - up the side of the drum, a mister (at the top of the column) sprays cold water into the oncoming air and apparently dehumidifies it 🤨, then the aforementioned fan (above the mister) blows the air back into the top of the drum. Beam engines from the days of old used this to condense the used steam (minus the fan). I don’t know how efficient it is as taking out the things being dried felt warm and damp until wafted in the indoor air and then it would feel dry, halfway through the cycle. Mum was confused with the cooling down cycle - the time remaining would jump from 1min to 15mins and would take the things out and stop the cycle.
    The other day when the machine had finished washing and I took the laundry out, had some left over after running out of places to hang them up and it was cold and raining outside. So I put the remaining back in the machine and put it on a drying cycle to see if it worked and it did - the wafting bit was done in the cooling cycle, though it a lot longer than what I did, (15mins as stated) and would come out feeling damp and hot, and after cooling down would then feel dry, the machine was hot and smelt damp. I also did a cupboard dry cycle; it heats the laundry and does a short spin before it starts condensing & heating?
    The misting is heard as a hmm (small pump) and it turns on the drain pump to drain out the water (done in intervals) and the fan is quiet - faint purr.
    The machine is in a cupboard and this doesn’t help with the cooling.
    We got this Indesit w/d when we had our kitchen replaced about 5 years ago?
    And it’s still going 😮 (wow, I’m amazed)
    Apparently I read in the which magazine that AGE had made/combined a w/d with a heat pump dryer function. Much more effective and economical ☺️ won’t be long as the other manufacturers will try to copy them? Maybe when the indesit dies, who knows what will be available?

      You again, just shut up with your nonesense comments. We won't look at Bosch with loose and filmsy control panels MADE IN GERMANY...

    AEG 9000 Lavatherm is awful. Finishes with damp clothes.

      These are know to dry perfectly in every way, among others due to the 3D-Scan technolgy. What model do you have?

    Thsi si the WORST most EXPENSIVE dryer ever sold. It does not dry anything. It stop when the clothes are still damp and refuses to continue.

      I’ve had this dryer 5 years now and that’s not my experience. You need to press the dryness level button after selecting the programme until a plus or a sun symbol appears on the display and the clothes should come out dry. This model is certainly not the most expensive dryer you can buy as when it needs replacing I am looking at a Miele that costs £1500.

      @@ibaisaic I think mine night be a later model with different controls. The whole problem is that it is computer controlled and you can't jsut switch to manual. I paid $2700 Aussie which is very expensive here. Cheers

      My model does have a manual timed setting, but I've seldom used it.

    Never ever I buy anything from Aeg. Have to send my unit twice a year to service. Radiator gets so dirty, it does not heat anymore and the dryer stinks....
