I’ve got a Miele washer 20 years old,it’s AWESOME!!! Water here in Vancouver BC is really soft so only a small amount of soap is needed to achieve excellent cleaning ! Mine spins @1600 rpm, it does sound like a jet engine. Water plus , adds a couple more litres of water to the main wash! Miele makes very sold machines/ appliances, it’s a win win sitiation👍👍👍

Hi Roger, hope your all keeping well, another great video thankyou! Iv had 2 Miele washing machines since 2002 and would have nothing else. Just to help you. Smoothing is for maybe shirts that have been in storage, you put them in and it really does freshen them up and take out creases. Rinse out fluff cleans the condenser on the tumble dryer section. Automatic is a sensing program for mixed loads that senses what has been loaded and adjusts washing, rinsing and spinning to get the best performance. Water plus can do certain things and can be adjusted in user settings. You need the instructions for this. Its main function is to raise the water level in the wash and rinses and can be programmed to give you 4 rinses on the cottons programme. Low temp is just that when using the tumble dryer. Load and detergent % can asses the size of the load and tell you how much detergent to add. PC is for engineer use for diagnosing faults and updating programs. Hope this helps. Love Lee. x
You can use white vinegar in place of softener for the towels. This will break down the detergent, which leaves them feeling stiff, even with several rinses.

Because they train even standard engineers to fix Miele's, what you are hit with however is the service call out fee from engineers, which Miele do not charge you. Also if you have a Miele, you would realise you have a guarantee with your machine so, an engineer callout is free of charge throughout your 10+ year guarantee period. Yellow pages are practically no use when you've got the internet. Might also consider buying many other newer machines, you'd be calling out an engineer twice as many times
The Load%/Detergent% (LD) button is used to check the load for the respective cycle and also recommends the amount of detergent required. Before loading any washing, with the door open, press and hold the LD button. It will beep three times, then display "Zero setting OK" which is like zeroing a weighing scale. Once the zero re calibration is correct, the LD button can be pressed before starting the machine to confirm the "Load", ensuring economical use of the cycle but without overloading the machine. Likewise, the "Detergent" display recommends the amount that is needed, though one definitely needs to take into consideration water hardness, staining, wash temperature etc.
I have the same in my holiday home. It is much better than newer products. It is quite fast at washing and drying too. The light in the drum is rather dim but other than that it is a wonderful machine
One tip: when you will loading the washer, please press the load, detergent button. It has an active load sensor. That can tell u, how much load u have in a machine and will change, when u will loading up. When u overloaded the washer, 100% will start flash to tell u to but some things out. It is a same principal like your AEG load sensor...
I used to have the washing machine version of this without the drier. I was shown some features and how they helped to save time and energy by Miele in my home.That short button most of the programs you can cut the time down using it. For example on mine the cotton wash at 60c took 1.57 mins by pressing the short button it did everything the same as the long wash but cut the time by half to around 55 minutes and still doing a full 1600 spin speed.This is designed to use the exact amount of water for each wash keeping it to a minimum for water meter users by pushing the water plus it increases the water amount going in on the wash and the rinses.
Real buttons instead of that darned capacitive rubbish - love it. And an unlock that unlocks instantly with a door that stays open 180 degrees. Americans always complain about how long the front loaders, especially the European ones, take to was a load. If you want clean laundry that doesn't waste water or beat up the cloths with an agitator, it takes time. Oh how I would love a set of these. But at 4K USD for a set of top of the line models, it's a tough pill to swallow.
ibaisaic, the Detergent/Load % button simply gives you an estimate of the load in the drum and recommends how much detergent you should use for the load, it's part of the "be economical" initiative most modern machines are going by, like using a teaspoon of water on a Cottons load against a water level that reaches the door seal. Minus my NaviTronic, Lavamat Turbo & JetSystem WJD, I pre-fill all the others to their max water fills to ensure good cleaning results and quick detergent penetration and dissolving. With the machines that have easy access service cycles or rinse out fluff cycles as the WT above has, I use them as quick refresh, super fast detergent mixing or turbo rinsing cycles when needed, they're really good, with either 250RPM or 400RPM spinning tumbles.
Cast iron drum weight. Normal washing machines are cement. Most also come with 10 year parts and labour guarantee. Scratch resistant body work. These are just to name a few benefits of Miele washing machines, dryers etc. Thus the price 😉
For people that knock the Miele saying costs are high when they go wrong, I agree if you book a Miele engineer. Most if not all are trained to diagnose a fault in completely ordered way and swap parts as they go in a strict fashion stipulated by Miele and use the PC (light) function to diagnose/test/initiate machine and they are required to charge the 'Miele' labour rate. If however you get a good engineer who knows his onions and been in the trade 20 years, you don't need the Miele engineer or his specialised test gear, you have hacks and can also diagnose out of warranty faults easily too that the Miele engineer won't see enough of. That good alternative engineer will more than likely also know a specialist electronics engineer who happily refurb's boards with better product and repair other known board failures for good measure even superior to the spec of Miele product off their line. A Miele engineer will swap out for new boards if in warranty or out of warranty and still available, as by contract, he cannot replace with second--hand. A decent engineer will charge an average of £80 for call out and so they should. It's a hard life being a washing machine engineer..... New pair or knees anyone? Sure there's not a huge amount of great engineers about because, for one reason at least, so many peeps these days would rather do office work or at least work where it's comfortable and not going to get too dirty. Being an engineer and having the task of getting a washing machine down three flights of stairs, isn't fun but it's all in a day... Rather than get your kids computer games or phones all the time, encourage them into something useful and buy them a set of screwdrivers or spanners.
It tells you how much detergent you have left if you decide to use the Miele detergent by them. They have specialized detergent for whatever you are washing. They have detergent for wools, silks, cotton, proofing, etc.
Why do you say that the dryer can't handle the full wash load? I owned an Asko W/D combo here in the States in my condo; one of the BEST conveniences was being able to press Start and simply remove clean, dry items when the machine had finished both washing and drying. That load of assorted towels you washed should not present any problem at all for the dryer function.
I think it’s just because the dryer will struggle with it, it’ll dry unevenly or not fully etc. Most washer/ dryers I’ve seen say they can dry less than they wash 8kg/6kg etc.

I think ALL washer/dryers are condensers and therefore require no need for open windows, that's why i much prefer them. There are times when i want to use the dryer and NOT have to open a window, it's the selling point for me over tumble dryers (i don't mind the lengthier time they take).
That'd be your opinion! My washer dryers ( I have eight of them), work & perform perfectly for my households needs & wants, even so far as a 6KG machine takin' on a double duvet. Never had any washing or drying result issues with mine, but they don't suit everyone or all scenarios, granted.
The spin at 1,600 leaves washing about as dry as they can get with spinning alone (i.e. without using the tumble dry cycle with heat). I seem to remember that tests show that 1,600 RPM leaves laundry with approximately a 41% water content. Spinning it faster at say, 1,800 or even 2,000 *may* leave them a little bit drier, but that is probably quite negligible. As an aside, when washing quite thick towels in our WT2670 on a Cottons cycle with the 1,600 spin, the towels are dry in about an hour under the hot sun! Of course, it's in a hot climate, tested in Brisbane and Malaysia!!
The "Anti-Crease" phase loosens the washing from the sides by tumbling slowly, not letting the load be left "stuck" onto the sides where creases will set in further. The washing will likely be left in a loose heap, waiting to be unloaded. It stops this anti-crease phase after 30 minutes to save energy, which allows sufficient time in most cases for the washing to be removed. Yes, the washing isn't as uncreased as some other systems that have "Variomatic" spinning (or similar) that use several short spinning phases interspersed with loosening phases. Also, each spinning phase gets faster as more water is removed. The downside is that the "Variomatic" option can add a considerable length to the cycle, which I'm not sure today's consumers would be comfortable with. BTW, I only use the 1,600 spin for things like sheets and towels, which is in the "Cottons" cycle. Shirts, trousers and other easily creased items are "speed limited" by the system to 1,200 or less on their respective cycles such as "Minimum Iron", "Shirts" etc.
The washer doesn’t move at all when washing and spinning. As it has been levelled properly and it’s a Miele with cast iron weights instead of a concrete block found on most automatics.
Every Miele W&D combo after the WT745 is pure trash. t. has owned four WT745's and a WT945, and he always went back to the 30 year old WT745 design because it just werks

I have a WT945S, the version that FlorenceBallardA3060 mentions, the HoneyComb care, or SoftTronic, it's not let me down once so far since I collected it from the place I purchased it from. I researched this model extensively before I plumped for it, like the WT745 you reference, it is a more basic version to the WT2670/WT2780, working more on the sensor cycles on the dryer than timed, like all but two of my other washer dryers. Granted, one of the main issues commonly reported is the dryer ceasing functioning properly, or at all, but this is, if it's not the heater, thermistor/thermostat or the cut out that's been flicked, it's mainly down to fluff and debris build up. I purchased mine with the dryer not functioning, after the first load it diid was dried, but since my NaviTronic autowasher's being serviced in a week, I hope the engineer may give me some advice as to whether it's heater or debris related, even though I've kept it exceptionally clean in the areas easily accessible/reachable Just because you had one or more in quick succession bad experiences with your machine, which could've been from an unknowingly faulty batch, doesnae mean they're all going to be rubbish, however, even I draw the line of their washer dryers since discontinuation of the WT2780WPS.
ibaisaic is correct, the black (looking in with the door closed), or with the door open, metallic silver, on the inner reverse side, is the sensor which doesn't just monitor moisture levels, but monitors the heat, I think, too, to avoid overheating. I think most of the washer dryers, WT945/WT945S, WT2670WPS & WT2780WPS, work more on sensor/auto dry cycle settings, my WT945S has only four timed dry settings, whereas the sensor settings there are four of five for both Cottons & Synthetics.
My parents wanted a Miele washing machine, as they are really good machines. But the Miele warranty are ridiculous about the number of cycles you use in a week i.e about 10 cycles per week. Which is one cycle a day. This is what put them off buying one. 😡 I would recommend Miele to change the warranty.

That type of liquid detergent is supposed to be used like that. The soft cup is meant to go inside the drum.

You know what weard this machine has a brushed moat in wash it you can't hear it in the spin you can mieles are weard about that
They have DC motors so they're almost inaudible at tumbling speeds but more audible during spin speed

My parents wanted a Miele washing machine, as they are really good machines. But the Miele warranty are ridiculous about the number of cycles you use in a week i.e about 10 cycles per week. Which is one cycle a day. This is what put them off buying one. 😡 I would recommend Miele to change the warranty.
Josh Matthews i have always Miele and the garanty is good i have now my new dishwasher and my echter and wasbeer machine al Them for 10 years of garanty and my blitzard for 5 years .i never have problems whit my Miele stufs.my old Miele washer last me for 25 and my old dishwasher for 20 and dryer olso
