    The exciting prospect of the ghosting will be the ability to run my amps cleaner and lower, then dial in the Revival 👌🏻🎸👌🏻

    I just bought a used revival drive with the extra foot switch for a steal a few days ago and it’s worth every penny of it for the brand new price. I’ve been playing through the effects loop of one of my amps and I love it. I hate to say that I like it as or more than cranking up a non master volume amp.

    I'm sold. I was actually considering replacing my rig with a modeler such as an Axe-FX or Helix since I need a low volume solution, but the hell with that. I'll get my Fender/Vox/Marshall fix with this thing through a clean amp instead.

    You can eliminate ghosting on tube amp by adding a balance resistor on the mains.

    Pretty good indeed! This pedal is a serious game changer! Was interested in Royal Overdrive a few months ago but glad I waited. This blows it away imho! I have 78 JMP and 71 cab with Greenbacks and 79 Deluxe Reverb. There's a 68 Super Reverb for sale locally that might be the ticket with this pedal for gig versatility! Haven't heard how pedal responds with other effects however. Great demo!

      If you can gather the change, dont let go of the interest in the Royal OD. I have both on my board. The Royal is a completely different animal but just as good. It has a wonderful clarity and sustain. The "bloom" that everyone describes is there in spades. I will never get rid of either. Cheers

    So, ghosting explains that thick undertone in Maggot Brain, especially evident on the clean part, with the fuzz kicked off. I was trying to figure out how that happened.

    Nice pedal ya'll, really nice indeed. I would as others have mentioned, make a Rackmount version. That way it could set right above Effects, then a Power Amp of choice. I have seen some 80 watt Stereo Power supplies, (very inexpensive too) that work for a guitarist that wants his whole amp on a pedal board. A Rackmount one would get gobbled up like puddin!!! The Ghosting Effect I really like yet I would like ta see a lvl control for its depth. I think that would be a great thing ta look at next time around, or on the new Rackmount version, LOL. Great pedal tho now I can go get another Vox AC 30 because I loved the one I owned even tho it was fussy ta work with. Thanks....

      Hey! We have a few other pedal designs that we want to get working on next but we may look at a rack version at some point. It will make sense to a lot of players.
      The GHOST control on the pedal is acting like a level control for the amount of ghosting. Is that what you were thinking of? Thanks for your interest in the RevivalDRIVE!

    Hello Simon! I'm planning to get the HotRod Edition. I love all the sound of any amp this pedal can produce. I'm also planning to use it as a pedal platform for another pedal, a Friedman BE-OD Deluxe to be specific. So two questions, in terms of clean sound, how far can it go connected to an IR Loader such as Two Notes Torpedo Cab M? Secondly, is it possible to do modern metal from the Hot Rod Deluxe? Thank you! You guys definitely brought something out of this world.

      Curious about going ampless myself. Have you tried running this straight into a Torpedo?

    Disappointed this ghosting is not a feature on the compact version; pedal sounds good, but at the price point: I am not the demographic you are after...

    Hi, out of interest, what flat-response power amp did you use for this video? Thanks.

  • @napalmhardcore

    I've just had a look through the manual and noticed that there weren't any recommended settings or suggestions for plugging into the effects return of an amp. Would the settings for running into a flat power amp apply in this situation?
    I'm also curious about something. From the demos I've seen, even with the volume control set very low on the pedal it seems to overdrive. Seeing how you've basically incorporated most of the workings of an amplifier into this pedal, I was wondering if there is a reason why you limited the clean headroom. I ask this because I like the idea of using this basically as a preamp, but the lack of clean headroom could limit its usefulness (despite its impressive versatility otherwise) in this particular use case scenario.

    • @OriginEffectsUK
      @OriginEffectsUK  5 років тому +2

      Hey! Regarding the clean headroom, this is likely caused by the GB bright-cap being engaged which lets most of the signal through and push the power stage. Keeping the VOLUME control below midday will keep it pretty clean depending on the pickups used and playing dynamics.
      You will need to experiment when plugging into an amp's effects loop. Depending on the amp, the power amp could sound pretty flat and will require the PWR AMP EQ setting, or it could behave an obvious EQ and require one of the other REAMP EQ settings. If you have the CUSTOM you can get really geeky and make it sound really good.

    Is this a phenomenon in vintage amps only? Why don't new ones have it? Is it a side effect of an earlier design that was eliminated in later designs?

    • @OriginEffectsUK
      @OriginEffectsUK  5 років тому +4

      Hey! Yes, the capacitors available to amp builders in the power supply in the 50s and 60s weren't very efficient when pulling through a lot of power. This allowed the mains power to interact with the guitar signal when pushed which produces ghost tones. Change those caps to modern equivalents and you can remove the ghost notes.

      @@OriginEffectsUK Thanks for replying! Kudos for nailing the tone on the revival drive. I love it and if you guys plan to break it in two and sell the two sides separately, i would totally get one. I am saving up for the big one, in case you don't 😅 Merry xmas and happy holidays guys! Cheerio!
