    Thank you so much for your video! I couldn’t figure out how this “new and improved” fastener system worked, as the wife was saying, “Sorry, this was supposed to be easy.” A complete fail by the manufacturer in not providing ANY instructions or illustrations of how this fastener was supposed to work. But for your video, we would have sent this back. Thanks again!

    Thank you for your detailed video. As someone who was born with two left feet & all thumbs, I had no idea what I was doing until I watched your video. I appreciate you being of service.

    Thank you for this video. The instructions that came with the seat were confusing as they seemed to include some strange unnecessary steps that made me doubt how simple it appeared to be, and as you have shown. Thanks again.

    Sir - just wanted to thank and bless you for this video. I'm a very unhandy, 70 year old woman who needed to replace a seat - as exactly your example. No instructions that I could find on the box. Your calm, clear, every detail step by step instructions got me through the installation. Before I found your video, i was starting to think I'd have to call a plumber!

    Like the other folks are saying, THANK YOU! No instructions in the box for this model of seat, and my old seat had a simple nylon screw and nut. Had no idea how to use this new fastener system, I would've never figured this out without your video!

    Thank you -couldn’t have installed it without your instructions. I don’t know how to get the soft pad tips on the toilet lid because they seem too small to fit over the “bumper”?
    I’m going on my 3rd Kohler toilet seat in 8 years … they
    have all cracked. Both previous seats cracked at the bottom, the top and had fracture lines in the middle!!!
    I asked the salesman at the plumbing warehouse about this problem and he said he had the same issues. Numerous customers have complained. I had no other option so I was forced to purchase this one again.
    I think the seat looks great. It’s very comfortable but as far as the quality of the material, it is fair. Not worth the cost $65!
    Kohler needs better quality materials for this price!

    I MUST send you a BIG Thank You for this video. I had the same problem with my old seat, except the crack was at the front instead of the back as your was. I ordered the same replacement seat which came with ABSOLUTELY NO INSTRUCTIONS. I did not find the installation process self evident at all, and I sincerely appreciate how you saved me a lot of frustration and time wasting. I also appreciated your tip about reusing the seat support thingies as the package was missing one! Thanks again from one weekend warrior to another!!

    Many thanks! The lack of installation instructions in the box was annoying. We had 3 Kohler toilet seats that lasted 6 years before each of them started showing cracks, one in exactly the same place you noticed, the others along the side. Happened with or without the installed soft padding wedges, since we had two with and one without, all of which eventually cracked.

    Mine cracked in the same spot on the back and directly across in the front. Seems like a manufacturing/molding issue with so many people having the same problem. Smells like a class action lawsuit. I'm down for getting a $5.74 check in 8-10 years! 😂

    Had the same problem with identical crack on the front. Since the cracks appear to be in the exact center of the front and rear, it appears to be a problem associated with the molding process.

    Ben, this was very helpful and thank you for posting! My old seat was cracked in the exact same place as what you showed, and I wonder if it's a design flaw or weak spot?

    My Kohler cracked after two years. It had a feature that let me slide the seat off to clean it. I got the new one but I’ll have to remove the screws to clean it. Why did they take away a great feature?

    "No crack to pinch your butt..."
    Gotta' love it!!
    Best unspoken advice... line up the sides before the final tightening of the screws.

    I've had 2 Kohler seats crack around the rear seat "legs" that don't touch the toilet themselves so the seat was bending. Not sure how to fix that. Also, after unlocking you should be able to lift the seat off the black inner parts that have the bolt through them but its very hard and it seems like its going to break to collar. But be sure to unlock the collar first.

      I will take another look, but the bolt head seems too large for the seat hole to lift up and around it. Thanks.

    I had the same crack in the back, but only noticed it after a while, bought a new one as a backup for the day I would need to replace it, when the time came, I started unboxing the new one, and noticed the new one, which was still wrapped up also had the crack at the same spot. Kohler would not take it back since too much time passed since I bought it. must be a manufacturing error of some sort.

      @Me-Ani-1 3 місяці тому +1

      Update: The issue with the crack was back in 2022, the new ones now in 2024, like your new one, don't seem to have the crack issue any more.

      These are not “quick release” toilet seats! You have to get a different model!

      I had a hard time, but it does come off, you need to “snap “it up quickly and firmly… it does come off…

    • @FlashOhJoy
      @FlashOhJoy Місяць тому

      You grab it and pull firmly with a “snap”, it releases… I found a video that demonstrates the removal.😊
