Thanks Bill. It took me 13months to renovate the 2mx2m ensuite. In the end I got someone to finish off the installation as it was cheaper than a divorce. Then the seat comes loose and boss lady on my back to get a plumber to repair. Thanks Bill. Saved me money and face. I did it myself .
Brilliant as always. No handheld camera, shoot the job not the guy.Sooo much better! I’ve been a tradesman for 40 years and I still learn something whenever I watch Bill. Legend.
Exemplary. I fitted a toilet just like this i.e. with a closed back, a few years ago and the seat had worked loose. I'd been putting off isolating the water supply and moving the whole unit out to get to the screws. Just as well I did cop out because chancing across this little nugget enabled me to fix it good and proper with a screwdriver in a matter of minutes without having to disrupt the bowl fixing. Thank you for saving me a lot of time and aggro.
Thanks for the brilliant video, no BS, straight to the point and clear concise instructions to help ordinary people on how to fix a very common problem. I am going to fix mine now, great service to humanity 😂👍
This is brilliant. I’ve not known how to fix my stupidly modern toilet seat for years. Was looking at replacing it. So thanks again. Much appreciated. 👏
Yay, TYSM for this video - finally I've fixed the two problems that have been bugging me for months - wobbly seat positioned so far back I was sitting on porcelain! For those who find the seat is too far back, try swivelling the mounts so the poles are in front of the screws. If after adjusting position you have difficulty removing the seat without moving the mounts, try eyeballing where one side needs to be, take off seat and try to replicate that position, completely tightening just that side. Then put the seat back and adjust the looser side, seat off, tighten. Took me a few goes, but it works! Feeling very proud of myself, especially as I'm not handy & my husband said it wasn't possible to fix 😊💪
All I can say is “God bless you”. You don’t know how much headache and pain you just saved me. I just got mine fixed in less than 10 minutes following your instructions. Thank you for sharing this. My toilet seat has been driving me nuts for months now, I should have searched this up earlier.
I vote this excellent video the BEST since You Tube began! (I was born NZ pre-TV)! Wow, who knew the seat had an “ejector button”! (The Long Drop had an immovable seat). Had to rush to the Throne to verify this “screw the seating” wisdom. Thank you for sharing the lowdown so succinctly…made my day!
Lifesaver! A week or so before Xmas with 13 people coming round & the wife is moaning about a wobbling seat! Getting one of those metal caps off was a cow son though! It was only with your video & then getting the other one off to see it was doable that I persevered with it. Probably took me the best part of an hour, some WD40 & a *LOT* of perseverance that I've got there in the end.
You are a miracle worker Bill. Thanks. Finally figured out to get the lid off and there I was stuck looking at the two pins. Who knew how logical and easy the adjustment was.
Thanks so much! Our seat started to move back and I was thinking I was gonna end up in the toilet before long! Under two minutes later I've sorted it thanks to your vid. Outstanding fella 👏
Awesome. Simple and straightforward instructions. Screw wasn't visible and was wondering how to tighten. After watching this video, took me less than 5 minutes to tighten my toilet seat.
Chokran Bill. We've had this particular style of toilet seat since moving in 3 years ago. Same issue. BUt now I know how to fix it! Wife will be pleased! Good onya, mate!
Thank you my friend. I have had a slip-slide seat for ages now and was considering just buying a new seat. With your simple yet comprehensive vid I had all the information I needed to finally fix the problem. 👍😁
Thanks so much I have put up with a loose seat since I moved in April 23 it was literally on my last nerve and I came across your video today trying to fix it and I can say your video helped alot, my seat is now secure 🎉😂❤
You bloody LEGEND Mate. so many videos i went through trying to find solutions, most just rushed through, but you stopping for every possibility (in my instance the cap being on tight and not wanting to break it) you saying they can be tight and its good to use something to pry it up solved all my problems. I cannot stress enough how much i appreciate you and your efforts. Regards, someone who can now shit comfortably.
I bought a new seat and couldn't figure out how to get the old one's bolts off and google led me to this video. It was clear and enabled me to fix the original one quickly and simply. Thank you.
Why are toilet seats these days so rubbish. They constantly move after a while and need adjusting and tightening every so often. Some slide about so badly I’m sure a certain part of my anatomy will be amputated. This never happened over 50 years ago.
@@judebrown2672funny but he's right. Capitalism produces garbage, shit and crap. It's all it's capable of doing, because that's how you enrich the pigs controlling the lambs.
Agreed. I’m in the U.S. and recently replaced a seat that was only about 4 years old. It was a “Slow Close” whose dampers had worn out. The plastic used in the attachments seems harder and slides on smooth porcelain regardless of tightening. I’m looking for some rubber washers to add grip.
Because it's now a throw away society, they don't make things to last like they used to, we used to take kettles toasters to the corner repair shop for mending now we have a full landfill due to throwaway commercialism with many items innards made from plastic, sad times
Given that it's an easy fix, I'm not sure what the issue is. Screws and nuts are bound to come loose from people sitting on the seat and shuffling around multiple times a day.
Tried fixing it by tightening underneath in cramped conditions.was gonna rip the seat off and throw it out the F*cking window.Calmed down.watched this video and followed your fantastic instructions.Job fixed in about 1 min after F*cking around for an hour earlier.Life saver. You utter Legend. The Mrs will be well chuffed.
One of the best diy videos I have ever seen, this is a top man who talks nicely as well as showing you exactly what to do. Thank you for your knowledge of this problem.
This video walked me through every step. I did need the replacement plug but found on Amazon due to his thorough explanation.Thank you for the excellent tutorial.
You are a life saver! Thanks so much (None DiYer elderly widow here - and yes, I hate that description too, but that's the situation! - ) My toilet seat has been annoying me for years. And now, thanks to you, I have fixed it. Bless you!
Coincidentally my toilet seat, like this one, started slipping quite badly today. I was going to contact my son, who is a bathroom fitter, for advice on how to fix it. Don’t need to do that now. Thank you. ❤
Thank you so much for this; will be a great help. The management has been insisting that we need to fit a new toilet just because the seat moves about; with any luck it will be a simple fix instead! Many thanks :-)
Thank you so much. I have a toilet and seat almost the same as this and have wondered how to tighten the seat, should it come loose. I hope I can save this post for future reference. As an 80 year old woman who has always done those little repair jobs I will be able to continue should the need arise. 👍🤗
Our toilet seat had me confused for years. My only solution was to fit a melamine spacer to eliminate the movement until I stumbled on your video, then it took me less than 3 mins to fix .Thank you so much. It's dead easy if you know how. ha-ha
Great video, simple and clear. I went to fix my wobbly toilet seat. It was the 2nd scenario, where I need to replace the insert. But i can’t seem to take it out. Any other suggestion than “screwing the screw back in a little and pull”?
Thanks,Bill. That was a good tip on securing the seat. How about the damper ? when lowering the seat and the cover, it just slams down. Can the damper of this particular seat model be adjusted? Thanks.
Thank you so much Bill. I mine keeps getting lose after tightening it. I was worried that the nut below had fallen off, I didn’t realise it was those plugs. Just ordered some.
Thank you so much for this video. After months of frustration that the wing nuts werent tightening the seat, your video gsve me just what i needed to understand how the seat works and how to fix it. Im proudly taking a pee on my non sliding seat as i type this.
After many requests for how to fix a loose toilet seat when the screw won’t hold. Hopes this helps👍👍👍
thanks for the video but both my silver caps won't come off to allow me tighten the screws. Do you have a remedy for this? Thanks, Claire
Mthey must be on pretty tight. Slide the blade of a knife under each side of the cap and try to lever the cap upwards.
It did indeed. Many thanks indeed my chum. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
No matter how I tighten the screws the seat still moves
Thanks heaps. Can’t find this nut n bolt from bunnings , can I find from somewhere else
You’re very welcome, glad I could help👍
Some times it's the toilet that bad or the installer threw the wrong parts away

You made my day. For years it was a nuisance for me since I couldn’t reach the back side of the toilet. Sooo easy… if you know how to do it

Thanks for the video. I have a similar toilet, which has a plug thing on the side. I've always been curious what this would be for?
Thanks,Bill. That was a good tip on securing the seat. How about the damper ? when
lowering the seat and the cover, it just slams down. Can the damper of this particular seat model be adjusted? Thanks.
Thanks a lot for the tips save me from getting expensive repair man. Did it myself 😊
Thankyou, we didn’t know this, it looks easy and we can fix it ourselves.
