Ya can use thinner slices to mimic squid or octopus legs, and salt em heavily and they get real tough , I'm in the us on the east coast and it works for cod, sea bass stripers sharks and sometimes fluke, although I'll run shrimp for fluke usually

your videos are simple but really helpful, thanks for the tip! just a quick question, when you tie a half hitch on the chicken or pilchard, does that leave a knot in the line when the bait falls off??.. or am I doing something wrong?
+John In John great question no if you tie a half hitch right it should pull straight out, maybe a clip on how to tie a Half hitch may come, Thanks mate. Regards Scotty & Paul
Yes works well in salt water give it a try and good luck. Thanks for tuning in and Please subscribe to our channel and remember new clips every Friday on The Hook and The Cook. Regards Scotty & Paul
Just curious, would this style of bait work as well as a prawn bait for big ocean bream off the rocks? - know a spot where the bream move in up over the ledge into the shallows (waist deep water) on the flood and scavenge for anything drifting past them. Figure a garlic infused strip of chicken fished with a tiny ball sinker running down to the hook would be wolfed down by a hungry ocean bream. Please let me know your thoughts. Cheers.
yes that will suit but the Garlic in a jar works well, Thanks Please subscribe to our channel and share our clips ua-cam.com/users/TheHookandTheCook Thanks. Regards Scotty & Paul

Hello everybody. When in one on the coments you say you have caught Flathead, Trevally, Snapper, Flounder and Tailor among others, are you talking about plain chicken or about the in garlic marinated one? Just to know if any of those species doesn't bite on garlic marinated bait.
Plain Chicken works fine but the garlic adds a little extra sent, maybe try a fish sauce, come up with your own mix its half the fun and see what bites on it, good luck and thanks for tuning in. Regards Scotty & Paul

Because if you've ever tried fried bream, it's great to eat. Besides this is fishing so some people just like to catch and not eat bream. Better catchng something using edible bait than to catch nothing.
Thankyou so much, ive been able to catch so many fish after watching you put chicken onto a hook. Its honestly such a grace being able to watch all of your videos and i hope you stay happy & prosperous.

Will give it a try in westernport I have a mate who swears by chicken for Gummy sharks.
Guess it depends on $/kg for chicken vs bait.
Cheers for the tips mate!

+Alan hey mate,what is ur setting,any sinker?

Should you put it in the freezer? Or just the fridge

that is the smoothest half hitch i have ever seen. video please
Two many year in the game, glad you enjoyed more clips posted for your enjoyment.
how do you do that half hitch thing, I'm really confused on that
A simple twist to make the loop then slip it over the bait, it only works one way as the main line must come from under the loop for it to work.
thanks a lot for that!
Callum R
