Been watching your videos Brad and getting very excited to moving back to the area and start fishing again! Grew up fishing on the St.Clair, the old Sombra / Marine City ferry docks was my fav place. Moving to Lexington and enjoyed your video on Salmon fishing there, thanks for all the info and know how!
I actually released this pike back into the water. I filet them with a 5 boneless filet method. You can see this method if you scroll through my videos list. It’s called how to filet a pike boneless. Cooking it you can watch my video of catch clean cook pike that will also show both how to cook and filet. They taste great when you do this method!
Cristopher Green thanks! And I put about a foot and a half for the sinker leader line going towards the three way, I do about a 3 to 4 foot leader for the lure going to the three way
@@thefisherbrad Great! Thanks a lot. St. clair river fishing from shore is a specialized way of fishing in my opinion and it nice to finally see somebody putting tips out there about it. Keep them coming man!
If I remember correctly they were both shorter rods. I feel shorter rods in a heavier action are best personally for whipping. A 4 to 5 foot rod would work good
Do you cast up or downriver when you’re doing this? I was casting straight out in the D river and whipping it back as it went downriver. felt like my retrieves were coming in to fast
When he caught the pike, where were you fishing? It looks like Brandenburg park to me. I was just there last week fishing. I ended up having to fish my phone out of the lake too.
@@thefisherbrad were you whipping there? I really liked this video. I've been fishing for as long as I can remember but it's been almost exclusively from a boat since my dad doesn't shore fish much. I don't have a boat so I'm trying to learn how to fish even when he can't take me out.
Anyone interested try a 1/4 oz jig with an ez shiner or ring worm, let it drift in the current while jigging and reeling from time to time to keep the bait just off the bottom and you will get hit
Is is true that walleye dont go on the canadian side on the foot of blue water bridge? We went there and locals are telling us that no walleyes go there..but i could see that you catch a lot its just on your side.
At 2:50 did anyone see the RAT just above his head on the branch. Ha
Never noticed that myself😂😂 thanks for letting me know haha
Not familiar with where you are on the 2nd spot boardwalk but I have heard about it

Good video
Good Afternoon, in both of your Day & Night Whip Fishing Videos was that an 6ft Heavy Action Rods? I was told 3-4ft Rods were used(on Boats)?
If I remember correctly they were both shorter rods. I feel shorter rods in a heavier action are best personally for whipping. A 4 to 5 foot rod would work good
Well this answers my question! 😂 nice video! Subbed!
Lol glad you found my other video to answer your question!
I endoyed the whipping segment, wouldn’tmind seeing another one a little longer, and give us a run down on what rod and reel to get to try this
David Devine I will do one that is longer later on from a boat showing how the boat and shore work different!
Do you cast up or downriver when you’re doing this?
I was casting straight out in the D river and whipping it back as it went downriver.
