  • I decided to make this video because I have Too Many Anemones in the 150G a Total of 8! Im going to show you what to look for if youre in the Market for a Great Anemone. Theyre Really Easy to Take Care of If you follow some Simple Steps.
    1. Your Tank should be at Least 6 Months Old. Bare Minimum
    2. Make Sure Your New Anemone Foot is not Damaged, look for tears,
    Rips, Make Sure is doesnt look like its Melting. WALK AWAY IF IT IS
    3. Look at the Tips, Make sure they are in tact and not damaged. Its
    ok if its shrunk and small. It will open up
    4. Inspect the Mouth, make sure its nice and tight. Closed Mouth
    means it is Healthy.
    WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
    1. ANEMONES are a live, they will DO WHAT THEY WANT
    2. You can place them on a Rock, they will Move and HIDE until they
    have got used to your Reef. Lighting and Flow. They will move to
    their Sweet Spot. Just Pay Attention move corals if Possible.
    FEEDING ANEMONES
    I Recommend Feeding Krill/Shrimp. You dont have to feed Often. But do not feed Silversides. They will use to much Energy spitting it right back out. I use tongs to

    I just brought one of these guys home and I'm nervous/afraid its gonna move into my power head. I did cut up some sponge filters and glued them around the power head just in case it decided to live life on the edge. As far as it getting into the over flow chamber im still working on that. So far its staying where I put it. Been bout 3 hrs now and it hasn't moved

    These things are super easy for me. I kept them for over a year using tap water to mix my salt and they didn’t miss a beat. Way easier than stony corals, I think it’s a complete myth that they need “pristine” water but it makes sense to me to only put them in an established tank that has fully cycled.
    That said, the biggest concern with them is how mobile they are. My tank relies on the return only for flow which minimises the risk of them getting stuck anywhere they’re not supposed to, but I have an anemone guard on my overflow which should stop them from ever blocking it. I’ve noticed some varieties are much more restless than others - I had a green one that would move around DAILY, but my red ones stay put unless I interfere with the rockscape.

    I see that you are a man of conscious and it troubled you that you may have hurt the anemone division. I'm guessing that is a trait that many keeper's of these beautiful, delicate creatures.share? Thanks for the information, and experience, shown in the video.

    I have a new rainbow bubble tip anemone. And my nitrite and nitrate are kinda high. You think this will kill them, I done research but no one really have said if they will live… I’m adding microalgea to lower it

    Masage the foot or change the current has worked for myself. Also I heard of cold water with serange. I also feel bad and get worried when thinking of cutting them.

    I have an anemone RBT that lost its tentacles, became just a blob (a foot and mouth) and moves around the tank. Is this normal? Is it dying or something else? Will the tentacles grow back? It isn’t that the tentacles are retracted, it just seems to have none. It self split on its own nearly two months ago. Never fragged.

    • @915Mang
      @915Mang  5 років тому +3

      Id have to see it. Doesnt sound normal, And I would have to see your tank flow and lighting. Every tank is different

    I got my anemone 1 week after setting my tank up. It’s now been 4 weeks since and it’s grown and getting color. Why do we need to to wait? I used live rock actual live rock from an aquarium and used live sand . I got ammonia spike the first few days to a week then it started to settle. After 2 weeks my ammonia went to 0 and it’s been there since. Now I’ve added 4 more fish and they are doing fine.

    • @foonooo9460
      @foonooo9460 3 роки тому

      @@alexafa316 it’s quite possible, but it requires loads of maintenance. Parameters have to be stable as heck and if your tank hasn’t been fully cycled, you’ll probably have to do weekly checks, water changes, and dosing beneficial bacteria. I don’t really recommend doing it as it can be a huge pain in the butt and it isn’t fun. Experienced reefers have a higher chance of success than novice.

    Ok so, my pretty new bubble tip, has been upside down alot. It sticks to the glass, substrate and liverock fine, but everywhere it goes it hangs upside down. Also it seems some of its sticky, slimy substance seems to be hanging off. Any clues?

    • @915Mang
      @915Mang  4 роки тому +1

      G LaP Hey what’s sup! Yeah it seems that it’s picking it’s spot. Did you mess with the flow or lighting? Well you did say you just got it, so let it find it’s new spot.
      Just look after the corals that it might be touching they will start to die if it keeps stinging them.
      Keep an eye on the new Nem. Is your tank older than 6 months? I recommend Nems be introduced in a 6+ month tank to support Nems. Don’t let them die in your tank they make a mess and smell terrible

    • @glap8694
      @glap8694 4 роки тому

      @@915Mang gotcha, the tank is probably about 4 or 5 months now, but i took extra steps to make sure the tank was clean and well tested as well as having established micro life, and i have the correct food and lighting for him, i have many LPS and soft corals surviving in the same tank, and the coral is moving and changing form as well as opening and closing its mouth seemingly fine, im just wondering why it prefers to be upside down? As for the flow i actually lowered it as the anenome was trying to stuff itself under tje liverock seeming to try to escape it, ill see how it goes for now and continue feeding reefroids and frozen foods when itll accept em, any clue what the weird slime coming off its foot is?
