Thank you thank you thank you, I was sooooo confused with stability and basic strength, been stuck on this for 2 days before this video, again god bless, subbed instantly.
I enjoy the explanations in a 7 hour video but the worksheet is definitely more useful when I don't have access to a computer and headphones. But overall, videos help more for me. Thanks for the video!!
Worth sharing vedio, very informative great help especially to those students struggling on their chemistry subjects, thanks for toturial vedio, thumbs up.
Can anyone please explain me this ? Since oxygen is the smaller one , so electron density (even though concentrated in a small volume) is also nearer to the nucleus. So , sharing electron with another entity will be more difficult for oxygen than for sulphur . But still why the compound with oxygen is a better base ? If I am wrong , please point it out . Thanks !!
Because oxygen is so small, the electron density in oxygen would be much higher than it would be in sulfur. Therefore, the electrons in oxygen repel each other more than it does in sulfur. That's what makes Oxygen with a negative charge less stable than Sulfur with a negative charge. In other words, sulfur has more room for the electrons to spread which will reduce the repulsion between electrons. Hope this will help
