GSP was already 40+ when Khabib was in his prime so I'm pretty sure Khabib would have won. But if we talk about when GSP was in his prime, Khabib still young so GSP wins. If they were both in the same prime area then I give it a 50/50 chance cuz Khabib would have to fight in a higher weight class where his strengths would balance out.
I think GSP would have won as well. Another aspect that’s not being discussed here is that GSP is naturally BIGGER than Khabib. No one ever mentions this. That’s a huge advantage. Khabib wouldn’t be able to use his biggest gift and that is his tremendous strength. GSP is old but the fight wouldn’t have been determined by speed or athleticism. Khabib never really used that game.
Reach, height and leverage are also advatage. You forgetting he beat a biiger champion in Bisbing quite easily. You never saw Khabib move up in weight for a reason.
Use to be jujitsu determined who won. Khabib never met anyone as diverse, fluid and BIGGER than himself. Khabib is a great wrestler but thats it. He isnt particularly well rounded.

*Its really no contest GSP would have decimated Khabib in his prime. St-Pierre fought the best of the best throughout his storied career, Khabib fought the rest in his.*
GSP vs Khabib in their prime is THE dream fight! GSP has the raw athletic ability, explosive precision take downs and imo a better standup game. Khabib with super human tenacity and strength with pristine ground technique. It's a tough one to predict, but i give it to GSP early if he got the take down and a dominant position to do real damage and Khabib if the fight goes longer. It's just hard to bet against Khabib as the fight deeper after seeing him break opponents in the octagon like he did McGregor.
Khabib was a weight bully and only fought strikers. Whenever he was up against decent wrestlers, with the exception of dos anjos, who was small for the division, he looked very beatable. Lets not forget iaquinta took him 5 rounds on a weeks notice and by rd 3 or 4 khabib couldn't take him down anymore. Let's not forget, he should've lost to Tibau. Let's not forget how he avoided ferguson like the plague. Let's not forget how often he missed weight or how he was afraid to go up in weight to fight people his own size. Let's not forget how many of the nurmagomedovs have been caught on the juice. Prime GSP wins 8/10 times for mine, hell Iaquinta with a full camp prob wins.
The one thing I always found curious about Khabib: The flying knee that he would throw in almost every fight... I don't remember him ever actually really hurting someone with his flying knee, but he always threw it when guys were against the fence and he wanted to close distance between them... Always thought it seemed like a weirdly predictable and potentially vulnerable thing for him to do, and I'm surprised no one ever caught him coming in. Even in his last fight, Gaethje saw it coming and got away from the cage, but I always wondered if it would have been feasible to drop him with a straight punch as he came running in.
Mc Gregor was out for two years before his fight with Khabib and even drinking the week of the fight and went 4 rounds. If Mc Gregor was dedicated and in his prime - I think he may of got to Khabib with striking.
Thats the one thing ive always thought about with khabib. He prob wouldnt respond well to someone trying to take him down cus literally nobody tries lol. Im training of course, but it’s different in a fight
Khabib didn't stay long enough to prove he is the greatest of all time. And that's the truth of the matter in this situation. You can't just dominate for a couple years and leave, that's not how it works. If you retire on top and reign supreme for a decade at the highest level like very few did, I will reconsider him to be the greatest. Unfortunately for him, other fighters did exactly that. I guess you could say he was the best in that division during his time.
@@MCJOHNSON95yeah but that does not matter. Khabib gets hit with justin punch who has one of the best power punches in the game. The game would all be who takes the person down first and stay on top.
A lot of people seem to forget that Khabib was a weight bully and GSP fought bigger guys. No doubt GSP had the fight IQ and experience to decisively defeat khabib. All respect to him, but years at 155 vs years of 170 and up. No way. GSP all day. 😁
Unless MMA has regressed from GSP era to Khabib, you have to expect the next gen fighter to be better. BUT... maybe it HAS regressed in a way. Maybe there's this dip in the quality of fighter between the time guys did it cuz they loved it and/or lived it, and the time guys did it for money and fame. For example, guys like BJ Penn and Anderson Silva would still truck through their divisions today. But, Khabib HAS done it for love AND lived it... maybe that's why he was so dominant...and George. I think that's what makes this fight so fascinating... its a clash of men who dominated their divisions with true devotion to their art. But here is where i think Khabib has the edge and ultimately why he would win. George was obsessed, he trained harder and smarter than anyone else... but Khabib BELIEVED. Khabib lived in the mountains, wrestled bears as a child, and fought a thousand fights in what has turned out to be the mma mecca of the world, Kazakhstan, before he ever stepped foot in the UFC. Some, probably real life or death situations. He had a loving supportive, devoutly faithful family. His mind is steel and aligned with his soul. Which if you've ever seen someone perform an impossible physical feat with the power of their will, you understand how meaningful this can be, both in the ring and with the discipline of training. George even talks almost entirely about the mental and psychological side of the those who fought Khabib well. Technically speaking, GSP has incredible takedown and top control, more variety of striking, but his guard has looked sus. Khabib can "chain wrestle" and take the grappling anywhere he wants with a lifetime of experience and picture perfect technique, and his striking is good enough not be exposed, and dangerous enough to let him wrestle.
This is a weird assessment….Khabib grew up in a tiny village in the mountains…..how does that help you? He probably knows more about goats …. And there is no MMA Mecca of the world over there….. there has been very few MMA champs from that area …..especially when compared to North and South America….. USA or Brazil have each had 10 times as many UFC Champs as all of Russia. The MMA Meccas are these countries .
Anyone can analyze Khabib's fighting style, but if he catches you, you will feel paralyzed I once saw him fight someone whose weight was maybe three times Khabib's weight
Its hard to look past Khabib when it goes to the ground. Stand up GSP has the advantage but Khabib i think was just another level above GSP in on the ground. Definitely a winnable fight for GSP if he could hurt Khabib first before any takedowns. But if Khabib gets his hands on him and hasnt been hurt then its a hard fight for GSP to win at that point.
GSP did not like to hurt people. We never got to witness his true power because he would just dominate guys for 5 rounds without really trying to finish them. GSP fights were like watching a 10 year old trying to wrestle their dad.
What I like about GSP, is that he would have gone for it against Khabib, just like Gaethje did, and like Khabib always did. Go out on your shield and give yourself a chance. I think it would have been fascinating to see GSP try and take Khabib down because we never really saw that happen.
Come on man. Dustin Poirier is no slouch and at times it was a hairline to Dustin side. If he had a little more experience and will it could have gone the other way. Conor being unpredictable, Gaethje incredibly hard hitter. Khabib admitted many of his fights were tough because he knew his opponents could land a big hit anytime on him.
@@yourservice67 LOL GSP always talks like that. Ofc if GSP fought prime Khabib, there's more chance that he'd lose cuz he was already 40+ at that time. Old GSP vs prime Khabib not fair. If both in prime then both of them won't be scared of each other.
This is the only time I like Cejudo. For me. Gsp beats Khabib. Come at me bro 😂 What a fight it would be. A true MMA fans delight. It would be a chess match.
Mind you take it or leave it but i tell you what in khabib fighting career he went easy with all his opponents in all his fight except in mcgregor fight, he some times advise them to tap just because he doesn’t want to cause them brutal damage, now imagine if he doesn’t care for your life😂 nobody beat khabib even if King Kong make 155.
I like the way he said, when he's putting pressure on me? I'll take him down. Sounds like I am taking Larry Bird to schooling in the Shooting Contest. Or I am going to walk MJ like a Chihuahua on 1on 1 winner take all. Dont get me wrong GSP is top 5 of all time, but rolling with Khabib is at another dimension.
GSP just doesn't get it. Even if you are in the middle of the cage like McGregor was when he shot, Khabib will move you all the way to the cage from the center. Khabib's calibur of wrestling is far greater. Khabib had so many top tier wrestlers to work with that were better than GSP but GSP has no one that could remotely match Khabib.
No doubt GSP would win. GSP has the whole package and Kabib doesn’t, if you can’t understand that GSP fought killers and Kabib fought mostly journeymen you can’t be helped.
@@abdullahnadeem1823 Even Khabib says that was nonsense from the judges, as do the commentators at the time - 'He needs a knockout this round to win' etc. The stats and the fight speak for themselves.
Prime GSP would have lost to Khbaib if the fight was at 155. What makes Khbaib so good is he never stops. Takes down jabs kicks. He would never allow GSP to get into a rhythm. At 170 the fight would be closer but think Khbaib would win that too. How Khbaib fought was different form any oneless. He used your strength against you and broke the fighter's will
@@HPloveCraftsCat1352 I watch the fight. It was close but Khbaib did enough to get the win. Also this was Khbaib second fight in the UFC and he was very young. GSP lost to Mat Hughs and then to Matt Sarra in his first title defence
@@orinorio1 I mean there is no shame in losing to Matt Hughes, GSP was still very new to the sport at the time while Matt Hughes was the P4P #1 at the time, it makes it all the more impressive than GSP completely outclassed him twice afterword's though. The first Matt Serra fight GSP got clipped, it happens to the best of fighters, still does not mean Matt Serra is a better fighter than GSP as proven in the second fight when it was complete domination from start to finish by GSP. What I'm saying is when it came to someone who compete and even negate Khabib's grappling it caused him major problems, if Gleason Tibau could counter Khabib's grappling offensives I think GSP who's bigger and much stronger than Tibau has a good shot in negating his grappling too, coupled with the fact GSP still holds the all time record for most takedowns of all time landed, most top position time and more control time in UFC history I think it leans in GSP's favor due to his strength, athleticism and Gas tank (this is assuming the fight takes place at Welterweight).
GSP wins. Ths long left jab is gonna do what it did to Koscheck. Then comes the takedowns in the middle if the octagon. Khabib was the best 155er ever....but he's not beating the best 170 guy ever...maybe the GOAT GSP.

Props to Khabib and I see your point but that does not mean GSP didn't work hard no? He was champion and Khabib dad's favourite fighter.
GSP was already 40+ when Khabib was in his prime so I'm pretty sure Khabib would have won.
But if we talk about when GSP was in his prime, Khabib still young so GSP wins.
If they were both in the same prime area then I give it a 50/50 chance cuz Khabib would have to fight in a higher weight class where his strengths would balance out.
prime gsp vs prime khabib? prime gsp all day.
He wasn’t a big welterweight, he even admitted it on the podcast. His frame is long but he’s not thick. Khabib would drag him into the deep ocean
Reach, height and leverage are also advatage. You forgetting he beat a biiger champion in Bisbing quite easily. You never saw Khabib move up in weight for a reason.
The better wrestler wins 9 times out of 10. Gsp is not even close to the level of khabibs grappling
Use to be jujitsu determined who won. Khabib never met anyone as diverse, fluid and BIGGER than himself. Khabib is a great wrestler but thats it. He isnt particularly well rounded.
@@66lozanoIslam vs Olivera put the whole jiu jit su / wrestling argument in the garbage. Plus khabib weighs around 200+ atm while gsp doesn’t look like he’s 185 anymore. Khabib was a big lightweight. If Islam moves up to welterweight and handles Leon with ease than the argument would really be dead. Plus the fight game evolves extremely quickly, fighters that were champions 20 years ago wouldn’t even be ranked in todays ufc
*Its really no contest GSP would have decimated Khabib in his prime. St-Pierre fought the best of the best throughout his storied career, Khabib fought the rest in his.*
"He's there"
GSP vs Khabib in their prime is THE dream fight!
Both far to competent in grappling to stay on floor so comes down to striking which favour Gsp.
Same
Gsp is just being humble here.
He's being realistic
@@Aoeror98 Khabib is just a lw version of Jon Fitch
Mc Gregor was out for two years before his fight with Khabib and even drinking the week of the fight and went 4 rounds. If Mc Gregor was dedicated and in his prime - I think he may of got to Khabib with striking.
Everyone loves GSP!
Khabib would have NEVER moved up to 170 to fight GSP.
Thats the one thing ive always thought about with khabib. He prob wouldnt respond well to someone trying to take him down cus literally nobody tries lol. Im training of course, but it’s different in a fight
GSP flawless victories Khabib
Might have could, not just could. Big difference.
"Brahlalarlalarla"
- GSP
khabib is Most dominate fighter of all time, i truly believe we even did not see his full ability & tools. he was incredible 💔🤷🏽♂️
He's not an MMA fighter, he's a one trick pony
@@rexluscus nah, he has two tricks. Overhand right and wrestlemania
Only people that think that are either Muslims or casuals
No he was a weight bully my friend
GSP would make Khabib look like an Amateur. Good thing he retired
Zip it up when you're done Kamaru
1:01 they called him Kebab in the subtitles 😂
Imagine a world where khabib fights gsp and loses at 29-1. That would be fucking insane. I believe khabib would have won that one as well
Gsp's speed, jab and boxing would be too much.
@MCJOHNSON95 could be but unfortunately we'll never know. That would have been the perfect final fight for khabib.
@@MCJOHNSON95yeah but that does not matter. Khabib gets hit with justin punch who has one of the best power punches in the game. The game would all be who takes the person down first and stay on top.
@@vynongaming553 He barley got hit by Justin
@@stevenbishop1782 he got clipped a couple times
It would have looked like the Koschek fight. George would have closed Khabib's eye with the jab.
A lot of people seem to forget that Khabib was a weight bully and GSP fought bigger guys. No doubt GSP had the fight IQ and experience to decisively defeat khabib. All respect to him, but years at 155 vs years of 170 and up. No way. GSP all day. 😁
Yes I think he could
A lot of people don’t know but khabib has been taken down by Abel Trujillo
Anyone can analyze Khabib's fighting style, but if he catches you, you will feel paralyzed
I once saw him fight someone whose weight was maybe three times Khabib's weight
And Usman has got that perfect for me.
No one with expect him to think anything else. He is a champion. If a fighter does not belive he ca win, not reason to get into the ring
Gsp vs Khabib, play it now on UFC4 😅
Where did usman come from😂😂😂😂
GSP prime would've been the one to beat Khabib. Best fighters of their class, they earned their 🐐 status
I never saw khabib ti-red !
I think it would have been fascinating to see GSP try and take Khabib down because we never really saw that happen.
gleison tibau took him down numerous times and was ultimately robbed by the judges in that fight
Khabib was great. But most of his opponents were not. That's the only real knock on him. And it's a big one.
Gsp is scared of khabib. He wouldn't have a problem with gsp
Watch old interviews of gsp. He knew he couldn't beat khabib.
???? He wanted to fight him, also i think you should have watched the video you're commenting on
I've seen plenty of videos gsp commenting on khabib .you can tell in his voice khabib scares him
@@yourservice67 LOL GSP always talks like that.
Ofc if GSP fought prime Khabib, there's more chance that he'd lose cuz he was already 40+ at that time. Old GSP vs prime Khabib not fair.
If both in prime then both of them won't be scared of each other.
2 words for GSP. Matt Serra.
The difference is GSP would have taken Khabib seriously.
At 170 I’m taking GSP.
Compare their resumes and longevity.
Prime GSP smokes Khabib.
Dana White wanting to shove Mcgregor down our throats killed this fight.
This is the only time I like Cejudo.
For me. Gsp beats Khabib. Come at me bro 😂
What a fight it would be. A true MMA fans delight. It would be a chess match.
That would be the UFC’s biggest ppv draw to date.
GSP should keep his mouth shut lol. Khabib is a different beast.
You lost me at “you know what made your wrestling…. It’s karate”
Mind you take it or leave it but i tell you what in khabib fighting career he went easy with all his opponents in all his fight except in mcgregor fight, he some times advise them to tap just because he doesn’t want to cause them brutal damage, now imagine if he doesn’t care for your life😂 nobody beat khabib even if King Kong make 155.
did bro just call khabib a freestyle fighter that dont have a certain base 💀
You can’t be a legend with 13 wins period. Stop with the khabib stuff.
Khabib had so many top tier wrestlers to work with that were better than GSP but GSP has no one that could remotely match Khabib.
gleison tibau out wrestled khabib and took him down many times but the corrupt judges robbed him.
No doubt GSP would win. GSP has the whole package and Kabib doesn’t, if you can’t understand that GSP fought killers and Kabib fought mostly journeymen you can’t be helped.
Usman got it well
Matt serra 😊
Tibau..
Matt huges
@@krislo4788 khabib won 30-27 :/
@@abdullahnadeem1823 Even Khabib says that was nonsense from the judges, as do the commentators at the time - 'He needs a knockout this round to win' etc. The stats and the fight speak for themselves.
Prime GSP would have lost to Khbaib if the fight was at 155. What makes Khbaib so good is he never stops. Takes down jabs kicks. He would never allow GSP to get into a rhythm. At 170 the fight would be closer but think Khbaib would win that too. How Khbaib fought was different form any oneless. He used your strength against you and broke the fighter's will
Khabib should have lost to gleison tibau but the judges robbed Tiabu of his rightful victory.
@@HPloveCraftsCat1352 I watch the fight. It was close but Khbaib did enough to get the win. Also this was Khbaib second fight in the UFC and he was very young. GSP lost to Mat Hughs and then to Matt Sarra in his first title defence
@@orinorio1
I mean there is no shame in losing to Matt Hughes, GSP was still very new to the sport at the time while Matt Hughes was the P4P #1 at the time, it makes it all the more impressive than GSP completely outclassed him twice afterword's though.
GSP beats Khabib now. Khabib living on burgers and about two weight classes above GSP 😅, but GSP has still been training.
Dana was the one who didn't let this fight happen!!
Kept forcing the drunk Conor on Khabib over and over again!
Supply and demand
GSP would school khabib and I love khabib
i like GSP, but no one could beat khabib at155. Khabib was a beast🦅
GSP wins. Ths long left jab is gonna do what it did to Koscheck. Then comes the takedowns in the middle if the octagon. Khabib was the best 155er ever....but he's not beating the best 170 guy ever...maybe the GOAT GSP.
The only way to beat khabib is to have been fortute enough to grow with judo and jj and then became a wrestler after that joined a boxing gymn and then Master kickboxing..... If you have a good base in judo,jj, wrestling and then striking, you beat him , he wasn't so good at striking , so if you neutralize his grappling ,u win the fight ..... I really think his too one sided like jon jones said. ...
SLADE GET OVER IT GEORGE DAYS ARE OVER HE WAS GOOD LET IT BE . SLADE STOP DIGGING UP OLD NEWS IT'S HISTORY . SLADE SAY NO MORE .
TALK IS CHEAP
GSP would beat in his sleep. Not close at all
Imagine a 6'3" (192 cm) Khabib in LHV, you don't think that guy beats Jon Johns? that's how the comparison should be, that's what pound for pound means!
This is such a stupid comment I've seen on UA-cam by far, if khabib is 6' 3" then Jon Jones has attributes of king kong and will smash khabib and throw him away like a banana peel, you become pfp if you keep defending your title or your winning streak, not because you become taller and beat the real pfp 😂.
Blahlahlahlalah
GSP khabib and khabib GSP 😑
Go to the gym with me George. I’ve watched you on Axis. You don’t need to listen to people who were clearly not as talented as you tell you how good you were. We all know you can win any fight because you decide on how the fight is done
GSP would handle Khabib easily
Khabin would mop the floor with gsp . He can talk all he want but he chickened out the fight . And he fought fir the middle weight title only because bisping had it the most accident champion there is .
Prime GSP would of ended the career of khabib
Subtitles say "my strategy against kebab". 😂 St Pierre didn't take Serra down in their first fight when he was knocked out. He has a selective memory.
First fight being the key word he won the second and isn’t a one trick pony like khabob
