I totally agree arjuna is a great warrior but is he an undefeated warrior no. He is also a human just like other great warriors, no great warrior achieve greatness without tasting defeat, it's just un documented or removed. Now coming to point for defeats. Every battle fought by karna until the last Arjuna karna battle he always used normal bows to defeat his enemies even though he has a divine bow ( vijaya ) received by his teacher parashurama. Lord Shiva wouldn't give the Pashupatastra to just anyone; he tested Arjuna's perseverance and courage to ensure he was worthy. He was beaten to death almost, but guess what he didn't flee like others did. Shiva's, Hanuman's, and Krishna's support underscores Arjuna's greatness as a person, not just as an archer. Doubting Arjuna would be doubting the wisdom of these divine beings.
Arjuna's greatness as a warrior isn't due to his weapon, the Gandiva bow, but his intrinsic valor and skill. It contrasts Arjuna's achievements with Karna, who is often considered vulnerable without his divine armaments. Below are some of his achievements with normal bow:
• Gurudakshina Battle: Gita Press, KMG and southern recitations gives vivid details of how Arjuna won the Gurudakshina battle and imprisoned details while Kauravas were routed. While BORI has the details stripped out it doesn’t fail to mention Arjuna won the battle for them. During this period, Arjuna had no Gandiva.
• Swayamvara Battle: When Arjuna won the swyamver and other warriors failed, they decided to kill Drupad and throw Draupadi back to fire. Arjuna came forward to protect the distressed family from all those wicked kings. There Arjuna faced a famed warrior. He had no Gandiva. Yet he uprooted the opponent so badly that he retreated scared comparing Arjuna with Parshurama, Vishnu, Indra and personification of art of war!
• Dwarka Robbers: Many years later when Krishna left for his divine abode Arjuna took the custody of distress women of Dwarka and started for Hastinapur. He was attacked by robbers. His Gandiva and other divine weapons failed him. But he continued to fight and pushed back the robbers who fled taking few women along with him. While some critics rejoice the incident as Arjuna’s failure, this arguably is one of the greatest feat of valor and contradiction to the question. A warrior isn’t brave because of the weapon but in spite of it.
These examples demonstrate Arjuna's prowess and courage independent of his weaponry, underscoring the essence of true warrior spirit.
And moreover as u guys argue Arjuna used gandiva bow in virata war wheras karna used normal bow. Well, there's a reason why Arjun uses gandiva always, and he makes it very clear in kandava dhaha parva, normal bows couldn't resist the strength and speed of arjuna's arms. Such was the speed at which Arjuna used to shoot arrows.
Weapons don’t win battles; warriors do. A powerful bow enables a warrior to shoot quickly and over long distances without breaking, but if the warrior is fleeing, the bow is useless. Whether my bat or Virat Kohli’s bat is better doesn’t matter-Virat would always score runs and win the matches for india regardless of the bat used.
The real question is who the better warrior is. The answer is clear: who won every time they faced each other? You might argue that Vijaya bow was superior to Gandiva, but you must concede that Arjuna, with or without Gandiva, was always superior to Karna, no matter what weapons Karna had.
In the Swayamvara battle, Arjuna fought with a bow he acquired there, not Gandiva, and still forced a frightened Karna to retreat. Karna had his armor and bow but still lost. Did his armor or bow help him against the Gandharvas? Could his divine weapons or army prevent him from fleeing the Matsya battle, leaving his brother to face Arjuna? Did his bow aid him against Abhimanyu or Bhimasena? No-it's the warrior who wins battles, not the bow.

Arjuna's greatness as a warrior isn't due to his weapon, the Gandiva bow, but his intrinsic valor and skill. It contrasts Arjuna's achievements with Karna, who is often considered vulnerable without his divine armaments. Below are some of his achievements with normal bow:
• Gurudakshina Battle: Gita Press, KMG and southern recitations gives vivid details of how Arjuna won the Gurudakshina battle and imprisoned details while Kauravas were routed. While BORI has the details stripped out it doesn’t fail to mention Arjuna won the battle for them. During this period, Arjuna had no Gandiva.
• Swayamvara Battle: When Arjuna won the swyamver and other warriors failed, they decided to kill Drupad and throw Draupadi back to fire. Arjuna came forward to protect the distressed family from all those wicked kings. There Arjuna faced a famed warrior. He had no Gandiva. Yet he uprooted the opponent so badly that he retreated scared comparing Arjuna with Parshurama, Vishnu, Indra and personification of art of war!
• Dwarka Robbers: Many years later when Krishna left for his divine abode Arjuna took the custody of distress women of Dwarka and started for Hastinapur. He was attacked by robbers. His Gandiva and other divine weapons failed him. But he continued to fight and pushed back the robbers who fled taking few women along with him. While some critics rejoice the incident as Arjuna’s failure, this arguably is one of the greatest feat of valor. A warrior isn’t brave because of the weapon but in spite of it.
These examples demonstrate Arjuna's prowess and courage independent of his weaponry, underscoring the essence of true warrior spirit.
And moreover as you said Arjuna used gandiva bow in virata war. Well, there's a reason why Arjun uses it, and he makes it very clear in kandava dhaha parva, normal bows couldn't resist the strength and speed of arjuna's arms. Such was the speed at which Arjuna used to shoot arrows.
Weapons don’t win battles; warriors do. A powerful bow enables a warrior to shoot quickly and over long distances without breaking, but if the warrior is fleeing, the bow is useless. Whether my bat or Virat Kohli’s bat is better doesn’t matter-Virat would always score runs and win the matches for india regardless of the bat used.
The real question is who the better warrior is. The answer is clear: who won every time they faced each other? You might argue that Vijaya bow was superior to Gandiva, but you must concede that Arjuna, with or without Gandiva, was always superior to Karna, no matter what weapons Karna had.
In the Swayamvara battle, Arjuna fought with a bow he acquired there, not Gandiva, and still forced a frightened Karna to retreat. Karna had his armor and bow but still lost. Did his armor or bow help him against the Gandharvas? Could his divine weapons or army prevent him from fleeing the Matsya battle, leaving his brother to face Arjuna? Did his bow aid him against Abhimanyu or Bhimasena? No-it's the warrior who wins battles, not the bow.

Every battle fought by karna until the last Arjuna karna battle he always used normal bows to defeat his enemies even though he has a divine bow ( vijaya ) received by his teacher parashurama. Undoubtedly Arjun is supreme warrior but Veda Vyasa does not take any side. Its an epic with divine consciousness. Mausala parva & swargarohana parva is a pay-off. In the end, even Lord krishna & balarama has to give up Dwaraka where people riot each other. Arjuna who is supreme warrior had to lose to babruwahana, his son. Arjuna also could not save dwaraka which got assigned to save them by yudhistir. Karna had his own limited time on earth. He is meant to live only till 17th day of war. Everything is destined. Even after winning war, where was the happiness for pandavas? Draupadi lost her sons, Uttara was attacked by brahmastra.. So what does this prove?? War gaurantees victory over enemies but it cannot give victory over enmity. This is true even todays times. Which war has solved any problem wether it is israel-palestine or World war 2 or Rus-Ukr? War does not solve problem but war becomes duty if aggressor decides to perform war.
