Another great episode of Two Fat Ladies! Perhaps my favorite line is when the Benedictine nun tending the cows at the abbey farm (at 2:07): "Well, I have a man once a week."
😂 Yep, and shortly after, it was plain as day that her excitement largely (if not solely) revolved around Jennifer's Thunderbird. She was so thirsty for that bike, she didn't even bother throwing hints or cloaking it in a "joking" manner. She couldn't have sounded more serious when she straight up said: "Well, must you remove those lovely bonnets...(JP's noncommittal reply here)...I think the sisters would be very happy to have one each, IF you could leave us that machine."
While I wouldn't have cooked most of the food they made I watched this show for its location shots, the gorgeous architecture and of course the sublime connection these two wonderful ladies had as a team. Their humor, intelligence and wisdom was the draw for me. I wish they would have made more shows. They are both sorely missed.
you know, over many years of watching this as a comfort show, i think their cooking is not as bad as it seems - at least jennifer's. clarissa tends to be good at old fashioned british/european food, like her terrines and that quercyan apple cake she made, but when she gets too far afield it comes out very wrong, like her southern corn griddle cakes (as a southerner myself those are insane) or her sad huevos rancheros. but i think most of what jennifer cooks looks like it would be good - lots of mediterranean flavors, probably from all the time she spent in italy and morocco.
@@Zelda_Thorn Oh I hear you just saying it wasn't the food that drew me to them. I'm a scratch cook and baker so I didn't learn anything I just enjoyed them.
Watching the nuns offering a prayer before eating was heavenly...cannot imagine anyone could be more appreciative of the meal they were about to eat...
All that gorgeous Irish scenery at the opening of the show. What a paradise! The kid working on the boat and the bartender were gorgeous. Another kind of beautiful scenery in Ireland.
Really enjoy this show. Two extremely intelligent & interesting ladies making food together while documenting neat places and other interesting people that they meet. Can’t beat it!

How wonderful that your double great grandfather was the architect! It is a beautiful structure. I never made it to Connemara, but visited Donegal in '09 & would never have left if circumstances had allowed.
Earlier today, I was watching a video where you were talking a lot about Annie Oakley. the lady in the green broke out in sing. She has a lovely voice! Please let her sing more often. It was my favorite part of the video.
Jennifer: "Much like those people in the pub. They were divine, but I couldn't understand a word they said!" Clarissa: "I sometimes think it's an absence of teeth that doesn't help"
The color of the butter and the Broad beans were much to be seen and easily had in the local Farmers Markets, abundant in our area; 50 and 60 years ago.
