When I was young this use to come on right before 12'0clock to sign off broadcasting every night in Columbus, Georgia. I miss how simple life was back then. Don't believe this is the original broadcast, but close enough.
I'm from Georgia and I was born in 2004 so I was to young to see this. But I do remember waching gptv in the morning for the kids cartoons. Probably after this happened but it dont matter! But what dose matter is the fact that this is the best TV sign off ever! Best way to go off. Love my state love this song! God bless yall.
Finally, we have the analog sign-off with Ray Charles in all his glory singing "Georgia On My Mind." And I have it on my mind; I passed through Atlanta on my way to Orlando in January of 1991.
I would stay up as a kid just to watch this signoff growing up.
Jesus now this is nostalgia @ it’s greatest!!
Me too, I'm just telling somebody that.
me too
Right? :)
And I thought I was the only one who would stay up as a kid just to watch this too.

It may have been updated later in life. It was simpler, but it's a good reminder to keep it simple these days!
It is from 1994. I have an old video I recorded american cinema off of PBS and watched it this week and it had this very closing on it at that time.
Always saw this on Tv as a kid. I love it
I was over seas in the military( the Navy) heard this song an got home sick lol, I think I cried that night, had to be because I drank to much 😂
I'm glad it was a nice throwback for you :)

Thank you so much for posting this.
Thank you so much for posting. Reminds me of being a kid and staying up past my bedtime. :)
Right? So many memories!
How many nights I fell asleep to this....
Wow the memories
I use to always wonder who the old man was walking thru the field at 2:27 seconds. Love it!!
It's Ray Charles! 🤣
@@VladGorenshteynnot walking up Stone Mountain couldnt see
I liked the "remember all the lonely people" song for PBS closing.
Me too. I hope they post the original version though
This is. It seems to be either an older or newer version than what you saw :)
@@VladGorenshteyn Indeed. I preferred the original.
Thank you.
what time was that ? 1am 2am ?
it was mid night.
This is not the original.
It is. It may be older or newer than the version you're used to.
@@VladGorenshteyn Newer. The original was not cut up - it was slightly longer.
Leaving me to conclude Atlanta does not exist. Stone Mountain does, though. 😃
Brahhh
