The expulsion of Palestinians to Gaza created the conditions whereby Israel could plausibly claim that the armed resistance were forced to use the dense civilian population as 'human shields'. Not as if Israeli doesn't use Palestinians the same way! Only Israel's guilty amnesia about it's own role in this enables it get away with blaming the victims.
I don’t see the point of taking 3 questions at a time. The questions often tend to be long and Pappe’s answers tend to be long also. Please, one question a time.
Sorry, I thought this was about the Arab invasion of the Holy Lands in the 7th Century AD when they killed much of the original population of Christians and jews and when many of the survivors fled to Europe. The remaining Christians and jews had to pay a tax muslims did not have to pay to keep their religion, such that poor Christians and jews had to convert to survive.
To maintain an Army you need money. The non Muslims are citizens and enjoy all the benefits of a citizen. He does not contribute anything for the free benefits of the citizen. So a very small tax is levied on him for his protection from outside enemies and for the free benefits of a citizen. I hope you understood.😊
@@WerewolfAsh - The invaded always understands the invaders will kill, exile, torture and oppress them. The point is the taxes were not levied equally for the survivors of the Arab invasion - i.e. none for muslims - and was a forced way of converting the poor people. It was after all, the land of the jews and Christians, yet they were being taxed to stay on it.
@@johnwoods7650 you are wrong. Muslims didn't kill any of the Arabs living in the Roman and Persian occupied Arab world in the 7th century. They entered peacefully. They allowed the Jews long exiled from Palestine and Jerusalem by the Romans to return and live in there again. As for tax, the muslims paid their own tax which is called Zakat, and in many cases this was more than the tax paid by the Jews and Christians which was called Jizya. Moreover, priests, women, children, the poor and not working of the Jews, Christians, Zoraostrians who lived under Muslim rule were exempt from Jizya. Read history before you write again.
@TAlkaseer - It wasn't Arab land and they weren't Arabs. You Arabs were the invaders. As for Arab 'benevolence', I seem to remember you were taxing Christians and Jews to live in their own lands. The ones you didn't kill or enslave that is. In some places in Syria and Iraq some Arabs haven't changed.
@@johnwoods7650The inhabitants of the Arab world under Roman and Persian rule were Arabs, who were Christian mostly. They fought with those empires against the Muslim Arabs who were invading from Arabia. They continued to inhabit those lands under Muslim Arab rule and remained Christian and occupied high ranks in the Caliphates that followed. Go look up the Nabateans, The Ghassanids, The Lakhmids, etc. The problem with western foreigners for whom race is a big thing, which isn't in the East, is they project their racial hierarchist/essentialist worldviews onto the East and naively confuse race and religion. For them/you the Arabs are Muslims, and the Christians of the East were not Arabs because they weren't Muslims. As a result, you really shaft our Christians, denying either their Arab or Christian identity, when in fact, they are the original Christians and adhere to a much truer version of Christianity than whatever abomination Europeans made Christianity into - a religion of racial supremacy and eternal war.

I was wondering if this "historian" would touch on Arab colonization that started in 7-8 century. He did not😮
This man is a disgrace. He speaks plain lies.
Explain please....
One of the typical assertions of an Islamophobe. He cannot answer why he thinks so. That proves it is an assertion only of a frustrated person.
A Palestinian State would be like Afghanistan under the Taliban.
You obviously don't know the Palestinians
