I needed to change my headlight and I was told I had to do it through the hood. I don’t have anyone that can help so I just looked it up and your video came up. I followed the instructions and was able to do it myself! I felt so proud that I could do it. Thanks for posting this!!
My kinda video. Straight to the point and get at it. Thank you sir. Kept me from breaking my arm trying to reach down from the top. The hardest part for me was finding my 8mm socket.
Thank you for making this video and allowing me to be able to take care of myself! It was amazing to learn something new in a subject I’ve always been intimidated by. I was able to change my lightbulbs today and it felt pretty awesome!
Sir, I just want to say Thank You from the bottom of my heart. I went to a Jeep dealership that told me they wanted $200.00 to change the headlight. Said they had to take off the bumper, and it would take an hour. I saw your video, and it took me 8 minutes to change it myself. Thank you
Great job with the video. I watched a different video that showed having to take the battery out in order to get to the bulb but after watching your video I was able to change my bulb in under 10 minutes and didn't have to deal with all of the issues related to unhooking the battery.
Thank you for taking the time post this video. content like this is so useful. This saved a young college girl $150 (daughters friend) who was about to pay a shop that much to do this simple but mysterious job. I helped her find this video and sent her to NAPA to get the bulb.
Thanks for making this! Glad to see that this is something that's pretty doable after hearing rumors about having to take the bumper off to replace these.
I freaking love UA-cam university can you believe the mechanic shop I went to quoted me $100 for this. Absolutely not. Thank you so much for making this video. 😂
Thanks for the view from the wheel well! I watched a few other videos and this is the first that got that angle! :) I just changed the bulb in a Grand Cherokee and it helps to see what I was doing even after the fact. 😆
Thanks, told byValvoline Where I USED to get my oil changed, that they couldn't do it, because it was an ordeal and they had to essentially take off the bumper and remove windshield reservoir.Appear didn't know what they were talking about.
Thanks, was a bit more difficult on the passenger side , kinda have to just feel around, can’t see anything because of an intake, but was easy enough….
Good stuff bud, Some of Jeep/Dodge cars the dang on bumper has to come off to get to the bulb. Love the channel and the catalog of various product you doing. Like and subbed
I went ahead and changed both driver's and passenger's side bulbs / lamps. I know now why these videos only show the driver's side... the passenger's side with the air filter box right in the way makes it a challenge...
Don’t touch the bulb, as he mentions. Recommend wearing latex gloves. Also, bulb grease is well worth the investment. My old Silverado kept burning out lights until I used it.
Thanks for the video Ralph. I had HID globes originally and changed them over to LED. When doing that can you only do it one way? I.e. the right way? Or, can you put the globe in the wrong way (180 degrees)? Reason for asking is after the swap right and left headlights don't match exactly. I have about 5 metres extra light on the left side than the right. I how that makes sense, I'm no mechanic so probably getting nomenclature wrong.
Is there a way u can make a video how to change the wiring of the headlight when it's doing a shortage closer to the light bulb I have a 2015 jeep checking latitude and I hold the cable an the light turn on I let go and it turns off 😭
Ok what about the passenger side? For some reason I can't seem to find any videos doing it from the other side. It's not the same access area on the other side
Hi, friend. How can you adjust the height where the center headlights look at the light? when I drive at night they look up high. sorry for me english. thx.
Need a long Philips screwdriver there is a small opening from top down. Measure from ground to center of the bulb find a white wall on somewhat level ground, stay 25 - 30 feet away, measure from ground to the middle of the light beam that should give you a real nice adjustment.
@@debbieventimiglia2216 So the assm. I assume it is a D3S HID is $130 at OReilly so it could be sourced online at a much lower price. As in Rock Auto Philips Bulb for $60.00 the way you put them in is very similar as is shown in the Video. So that being said it is a matter of finding someone that is willing to do that job. I hope that helps.
@@ralfsautomotive thankyou so much for taking the time to help. Very nice of you. Does it have to be the hib bulb of will a led work? I don't want to short any wiring out
"Real Quick" only applies to the driver side. On the passenger side is the air intake and air cleaner assembly, In my '15 Trailhawk I was not able to get in from the bottom. Had to partially remove the air cleaner and do it from the top. I don't know if all Cherokees are like this, but a video should be complete, show both sides.

I got nothing on that one LOL
A+ sir, did both mine. Be careful with the clip out there in cold weather! (It’s fragile)

I just bought this exact same car and this video was SO USEFUL
Thank you for making this video! I was able to change my bulb in a matter of minutes. Not hard at all!
Thanks! Thanks again, Sir. The service that you provide on this channel is much appreciated!

Yeah I was told I had to change the whole housing so I'm very glad you proved that wrong

These guys are not Mechanics please keep that in mind.
Thanks for this, mine burned out and I couldn't figure out how to get to the darn thing.
Helped me out a lot, i was able to change it, thank you
thanks for the tutorial. i'll try this when my wife come home

I’m so happy I came to you tube for my problem thanks ☺️
Thank you for posting this! I had no idea how to do this.
Thank you!!! Super helpful. Much appreciated.
Very good video, I followed the instructions and saved $$$$ it's simple and easy
Thanks so much for this quick video!!! Glad I don’t need a lift!!!

Personally I have not had a Cherokee with a pass. Bulb out so that is not the reason here!!
Thank you for this video! I just fixed mine, easy peasy!
Thank you for the video!!! It took about 10 minutes on the ground!!!
Glad it helped.

do you turn the lightbulb clockwise to put it back in?
So curious about the accent... Sounded like German, Australian and southern all at once😂
LOL I do that on purpose! It is German
Hi! I know you mentioned an 8mm socket for removing the panel. Can you please give more specifics on the tool needed to remove those screws?
You can use a nut driver or a ratchet they will both work
Thank for this! I was just coming to ask the same!
brooooo!!!!! THANK YOU! for this video saved me alot of time
Thanks for the video!!!
Thanks buddy! Appreciate you!
Thank you for the information.

Some LED's have up and down but the output will be different from HID to LED
Thank you, very useful
Thanks for the help. This is ridiculous though. I'm never buying another Jeep
For real. They sure charge a lot for a car made up of cheap parts that falls apart quickly
Is it 9005?
What are the white things in the headlights to stabalize the headlight called? Can you get replacements?
Thanks for the video Ralf, what is the number of the lamp was it that you installed ?
9008 H13 I believe.
Thanks for the upload
My favorite harbor freight light
is it the low beam or high beam bolb?
perfect..thank you for sharing
Thank you this was very helpful
i took my car to pep boys and they told me it would be close to 450 to have the work done...and now im watching this video
Thanks just what I needed 2 know!
The cap covering the light, it’s hard to turn. Any way to safely loosen it up?
No. it is the o-ring holding it. Lube it before you put it back on.
Didn't really answer the question and I really needed the answer too lol
Is there a way u can make a video how to change the wiring of the headlight when it's doing a shortage closer to the light bulb I have a 2015 jeep checking latitude and I hold the cable an the light turn on I let go and it turns off 😭
Check the connector where it plugs into the bulb that is the most likely place and a good starting point.
What a legend
Ok what about the passenger side? For some reason I can't seem to find any videos doing it from the other side. It's not the same access area on the other side
Correct it is distinctively different
Would you happen to know if this can be done the same way on a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
Sorry I do not
keep getting a pop up on my car saying low beam head light is out even though it’s not actually going out? thoughts?
That may be a bulb going out or an intermittent bad connection

Hondas are so much easier to work on. Lol. Nice video though. Thank you.
Is this the same procedure for a 2016 jeep Cherokee limited?
Yes
Iam a widow and two mechanic places are telling me it's. Jour and half labor and the hib bulbs are 176 , that's not counting labor.
@@debbieventimiglia2216 I normally don't do this but hang on for me. I will reply back shortly with some info.

Dammit I broke the tabs
Hope it doesn't pop off
Is the passenger side the same?
Similar not quite like that
Thank you so much.
Thank you!
What size bulb is it?
Don't know of top of my head
What part number is the main bulb?
If it is a Incandescent Bulb it is 9012 if it has the HID option it is a D3S
@@ralfsautomotive low and high light come from the same bulb? it is right?
@@fhermalpica3238 the 9012 is a single filament bulb but in the case of this vehicle I do believe that is the case
@@ralfsautomotive ok.... tks sr...
Is there a tool that can help remove the twist cap when it is so tight it cannot be removed?
Not that I am aware. That being said put grease on the lid before replacing it.
So let's say theoretically someone lost that little white bag?
Simple, get another! It is used to keep moisture out. Desiccant packs can be ordered cheap.
