Cool test. I wonder out of curiousity if the original spectralert advances from before 2017 may have the 3khz smoke alarm setting as an Easter egg/hidden setting. Seeing as though the other settings are the same on the L series, I have a feeling it might be possible although not sure how
I have a question for you. Have you ever heard of an exit sign, and emergency light company called Dynaray? I remember back in summer of 2004, I was looking at a High School in Huber Heights, OH, and I think I remember it had metal Emergi- Lite, battery back up signs, and combos with the small light heads, but I noticed some of these signs said "Dynaray" instead of Emergi-Lite on them, but they all looked the same, and I think I also remember seeing this brand name "Dynaray" on an Emergency lighting unit in a building when I was away in Arizona that same summer! I would really like to know more about this company!
Yes! Dynaray was a manufacturer of exit signs and emergency lights. They were bought by Thomas & Betts, who owns Emergi-Lite and LightAlarms. The three companies commonly shared products. That’s why occasionally you’d see Emergi-Lite and/or LightAlarms units branded as Dynaray. And there were some Dynaray products branded as Emergi-Lite and LightAlarms also. I can’t remember when, but Thomas & Betts decided to dissolve the Dynaray company, so it no longer exists.
@@ExitSign250 oh so Dynaray was a part of Thomas and Betts, and that was the reason why I saw those Emergi Lite signs at that school branded as Dynaray! They were still Emergi-Lite signs, but at the time when they were installed, Emergi Lite's parent compamy Thomas and Betts owned Dynaray so Thomas and Betts rebranded some of their products Emergi Lightalarms! As Dynaray during that time, even though those products were originally Emergi Lite! Also I would like to know was Dynaray also part of Hubbell?
Did you ever see why zone 4 is shorted? I’ve had a problem where on zone was shorted on my security system finding out there was a strand of wire that fell on the terminals.
I looked into it when I first got the panel, but I couldn’t figure it out. There was nothing visible that look to be the cause of the short, but maybe I can look into it again.
@@ExitSign250 I could be a bad transistor. I could have been heat or frost. I also a power surge could have happened. The first thing I would check though would be the transistor.
@@TheJakeman789 What do you mean brush hand, the ones I mean had to be pulled and release dye on fingers for false pulls? Dry humor I guess as in dry no dye.
Fire alarm ink is against code. No fire alarm pull station manufacturer (in the U.S. at least) offers a pull station that releases ink when pulled. There are some liquid manufacturers that offer a gel to be placed on pull station handles, but again as previously stated it is against code.
Since no one requested a particular coding, I left them on their default coding. Plus, the pre-TrueAlert/QuickAlert cannot code itself, it must be coded by a panel.
As most incorrectly believe an IR or photoelectric smoke detector is NOT activated by smoke disrupting the IR path. Hmm..hint, almost the exact opposite.
@Aslin Fire Safety Yes, in commercial apps I guess. With the scatter principal the sensitivity is very high, the IR light can be biased to just below trigger point in dark chamber so any smoke will trigger. I use a pair of IR beams for burglar side outside which is most reliable against falsing with coded beam and ms delay setting for a bird or such. Never had a false, whereas dual techs falsed when a bird would land on fan blades spinning blade triggering uwave and bird triggering IR, not good.
In my experience, Simplex devices have little to no effect on FWR. They just sound a little bit worse. I’ve used Simplex on many FWR panels for a long time and I have never damaged a device.
A lot of people blame FWR for most NAC problems. I’ve been told if I use Simplex devices on FWR I will ether fry them, fry my NAC, or fry my panel. None of which have happened for the 6 years I’ve owned panels with FWR NACs. In theory, the worst that could happen is the device would fry, not the panel or NAC. But I’m going to continue to use Simplex on FWR as I’ve had no issues or problems.
Amazing! Thanks for taking my request!! Can’t wait for the next test.
I’ve got to say, that’s the most unique combination of devices I’ve seen in a while. Also, thanks for doing my request!

When are your gonna do the next beyond the code.

Let the craziness begin
Are you able to do a walk test on your Firelite MS 5-UD and your Firelite MS 9200UDLS fire alarm panels.
Both panels are able to do walk tests. I may demonstrate them sometime in a future video.

Hello cool devices!! I would like to request a system test using a Bg-8!! Stay safe and have fun!! ...
I actully had a fire drill today at my school
It is very annoying when you can't find the right key because they are so many keys
I hear an integrity in the background
Are they still using a dye ink fire pull?
Nope I go around all the time in places and just brush my hand across fire alarm pulls. No dye or powder or anything similar on my hand.
