That mud truck setup is awesome. It has that over the top 80’s action hero look to it. One idea for the interior (if you decide to put one in) would be Ace Ventura leaning out the side window saying “Looooossseeer,” like he did in the monster truck scene in When Nature Calls. That would e awesome.
The bed on the CUCV looks great! Those tires look appropriate, but I do wish someone would make some 8 lug wheels for the 3/4 ton pick-ups. The Traxxas looks ridiculous with the monster tires! The narrow set will probably be perfect. I think the gloss clear will work to "fix" the windows, and an interior would definitely make this truck look complete. If there's room, a "seat depth" interior would look awesome. I've also wondered if an RC4WD hard body could work on the TRX4? (Probably not enough room)
I just googled the Jconcepts fling king Jr 2.2 's - those are definitely the wheels and tires you need to go with on the TRX4 K10 mud truck. Would keep that clodbuster look you are going for and would work way better as well.
LOVE THE NEW CLODBUSTER. That's awesome. I know it's not a Clod but it's great looking. I bought a Clod in 1989 and had it for 27 years....very weak plastic. The TRX4 is way more durable. Again, it looks awesome. Oh, don't they have JConcepts Fling Kings Jr 2.2" Monster Truck Tire Part#: JCO3083-01. That would've been easier to install.
They use to have an unlimited class for crawlers. Most used clod buster axles. I built a clod axle crawler back in 2004'ish. Thing was a beast. Could drive it from the floor up onto the couch like it wasn't anything. Hobbytown dallas stole it from me, along with many other models I had
I just like watching you work. It’s inspiring. Your delivery of “off comments” makes it entertaining. I enjoy the fun diversion projects like the mud truck or the semi-pc just as entertaining and interesting as your build-offs with Harley or your super scale projects. Please keep doing what your doing….Even my wife is now a part of watching your videos once work is over and we get to sit down with a glass of wine or whatever.
For the bumper for your CUCV, look at the GMade Military Buffalo. That's an M1009 CUCV (the Blazer) and they had the same bumpers/brush guards. Also remember the CUCVs had 2 square cutouts in the grill. One for a blackout driving light, the other for a 24V jumper.
@@scalebuildersguild No problem! If you need any images of the CUCV grill, bush guard or bumpers, let me know. My Blazer has them. They're really interesting. Like how the cuts were done at an angle. Something you generally don't notice by looking from the front.
The wheels on those tires look like they are for that Losi LMT, if that's the case the fling kings for that wheel design are probably much bigger than the regular 2.2 fling kings. I got a set and they definitely didn't look that big
Didn't finish watching the video before commenting, my bad. If you like the thicc boi style V-tread, I definitely recommend getting a set of the 2.2 fling kings.
The TRX looks awesome, like an updated Clodbuster. I've been looking at my lifted TRX-4 Blazer & my LMT tires pondering but i have to much sag for crawling
I must commend your "effort" (as you put it) on clearing those painted windows. Well done good sir. Patience, discipline, or just plain 'ol free time, either way you're an inspiration. Cheers.
Fantastic transformation of the K10 to a mudder bigfoot truck. Also the rounding of the box to cab transition really makes the transition pop and shows the era of the C10.
Great looking trucks. Yes, for the interior in the mud truck and toyo tires on the blue/grey scx3 jeep. I know it is a copy of the jeep you owned, but I think they will look great on the jeep.
Definitely should put an interior in the mud truck! That would really top it off. That thing reminds me of the radio shack super 4x4 off-roader I had when I was a kid. Those were more of a Ford but same sort of style
I've been trying to come up with a lift kit to run a set of 2.2 renegade monster truck tires on my trx4, but another leaf spring old school monster truck with fling kings looks pretty solid on there.
I had a 1987 lifted Cheyenne on 44" Super Swampers back in high school. Every farmer's son wanted to buy it, and every farmer's daughter pretended to like me, lol.
I'm loving everything you and Josh are doing, I have spent more of my time then I care to admit watching the both of you! Keep it up, I feel like I'm waiting for my next fix between videos! Lol
I think those Pro-Line Toyo's would look pretty good on the TRX Bronco behind you. May look more scale than the tires on it. Also, if the Mud Clod is going to get an interior, I think it should be a simple Tamiya style driver like from the Blackfoot. Thanks for the great content!
Nice looking high lift Chevy. Those wheels could go nicely on a Jeep or your land rover. Thanks for sharing your hard dedication Matt. And thanks for reading our comments.👍
I seriously like both of these projects! The mud truck looks like a early 80s period correct version of a mud truck. An old school warn bumper similar to the clod would look great. Adding the prerequisite "roll bar" to the bed with some KC Daylighters would be sweet! Overall great job!!
That looks really good. Reminds me of the early monster truck look of late 80s/early 90s with big tires on a lifted truck with not much suspension travel.
I look forward to watching what's on the bench every week! You have inspired me to build up my lexan bodies to look more scale! I would love to see an interior in the K10, GMP makes a great interior for the Traxxas Blazer that should fit perfectly in the new pickup!

I wish someone would put more scale looking tires on the k10! I’ve seen so many builds with those king fling tires, even some big agricultural style tires would look pretty cool … and I’m sure there’s some even better options
I think those 4.45” Toyos would look great on my RTR Axial SCX10iii JLU. I immediately switched the comically large 4.75s to 4.25s, but I’ve always felt they were just a pinch small for the stock ride height, which I do like for the trails I run.
To my knowledge all the cucv square body trucks and blazers had dual tanks and the round outside mounted caps. Also the cucv were 6 lugs.. also this thing is bad ass
If I'm not mistaken, jconcepts makes a set of 2.6 wheels for Clod sized tires with the same hex adapter as the dragons. I say, drop the steering servo down to the axle, go full double triangulated four link front suspension and double shocks on all four corners. 😉

Rc4wd bodies are too narrow for a trx4 chassis. At least the bodies like the Mojave pickup
