Beautiful Lucerne! that luge looks like fun
I visited Luzern in winter around 4 years ago. I think it's one of the prettiest city in Switzerland with beautiful lake and surrounded by magnificent mountains. Hope to visit Luzern again after Covid gone.
If you like lucerne you should also check out lausanne & lugano. also 2 citys near a lake (french side and italian side) its worth it. With lucerne they are my 3 favs
I loved my visit here thanks to you two
Lucerne looks like a very beautiful town! Also, 3:45 - 4:00 looks like a lot of fun :) Thanks for recording and sharing the video.
We, we are going to be in Lucerne this October. The trip up to Pilatus and the toboggan and all of that is that at one day trip? We're spending three nights in Lucerne, and if we could do that portion in one day, it would be great. Love your videos, keep up the great work and thank you for all of the information.
Hi. Thank you for being in my city and for liking Lucerne so much. Your video about this city is super nice.
By. Alien Ware

Loving all your Switzerland videos! Thanks a lot
Thanks for video
Very Nice video, Thanks for sharing..
With lots of love to both of you..Take Care..
Visited lucerne in 2019, had a hard time deciding between Pilatus and Rigi, went Rigi in the end, was inside the clouds at the top but took the train a stop down and the views were amazing.
After everything that has happened the last couple of years, as soon as travel is a bit more normal the idea of going up a Swiss mountain and just enjoying the view seems what I need to do. Hopefully 2022.
thank you!
Thank you enjoyed the video! Will be using your itineary for my first visit to switzerland!
What a gorgeous town. Love those old buildings. Definitely worth a visit

As a swiss, (living around lucerne) I approve! :)
What a great adventure this was!! Reminded us of our day in Whistler in British Columbia in Canada. Gondola rides all around!!
this one has great tips! Wish we were planning a trip there ourselves!!
The tobogganing was awesome albeit the 1hr queue, just don't go too fast and fall off as I did.
Omg. What a beautiful upload.. I visited these places almost 12 years back.. So amazing to see almost everything remain same. The feeling of being at this place.. Spectacular and breathtaking views.. Greetings from Oman
Glad you liked it!
Good timing the Pilatusbahn gets new trains this and next year.
We must have just missed you! We were in Luzern until Aug 13th - and now in Interlaken, waiting out the rain.
Great video!!! ❤ thank you
Hi we were in Lucerne in September and took the boat to Alpnachstad and that was truly the most stunningly beautiful scenery I’ve ever seen, I was speechless. There are just no words to describe it. The weather was just perfect. However, when we got to the top of Mt Pilatus, it was shrouded in fog just like this video. We ate lunch at the little restaurant, and by that time the clouds had moved away and we had the perfect view! I also loved the paintings on Chapel Bridge and the other bridge, Chaff Bridge is it?
Spreuerbrücke in german, but I don't know the english name
hello.... discovered your channel and stay connected ! I'm watching now....
Wow! This was such a beautiful video! I have never been to Switzerland but I most definitely have to add it to my bucket list!! Such a lovely video! Most definitely made a new friend!
wow, interesting place to visit, thanks for great video!
My beloved city is wonderful
Absolutely gorgeous city, and the mountain was great to see! I've passed by Lucerne and spent the night, but it seems like I missed a whole lot of things there... Very cool information as well, like the lion of Lucerne (which I actually hadn't heard about).
Wow Beautiful places I want to go there someday!
thanks for the great guide, loved all your videos, also, Alexis you are soo beautiful
Hello, I was there in 2019. Very pretty town.
Thank you so much for this video. I am planning my first ever trip to Switzerland and I will be staying in Lucerne, I was already excited to go but watching your video made me jump up and down in my chair! Oh I want to do this, I want to do that!!
So thank you again, I cant wait to go, next june.
Very intersting and useful video, thanks for the effort 👍
I am going to Interlaken on Dec 10 and included Lucerne and Pilatus in my plan , cant wait to experience 🙂.
Check out the Lucerne Christmas market! :)
@@TheTravelingSwiss thank you for being so generous for putting your suggestions! I will be based in Interlaken during my trip from 10th Dec - 13th Dec. I know it's a very short time to explore everything.yet after hearing about Lucerne, I have included it in my plans ( possibly on 12th Dec : Interlaken - Lucerne ).
I wish you both the very best for doing such a great job, It's not as easy as it seems !
Lucerne's Swiss Museum of Transport is also excellent..
Nice video
Damn I love that place. Lived there in 95 with a wonderful woman. Never seen her or the city again, sadly.
Very nice 👍
Wondering what time of the day did you guys film this that the buildings have a reflection on the water.. beautiful luzern
Nice video!
Awesome videos Alexis and Louis! We are coming for our first swiss trip in July this year and your videos are helping a lot to plan my itenary. Just wondering if kids below 12 years are allowed on the toboggan ride if they are with an adult.
Love this! Thank you for showing the luge and Mt. Pilatus. I am definitely going to Lucerne. ❤❤❤
I have a Q. How much is the bus ticket going to Kriens? Thank you very much.
The bus ticket from Lucerne to Kriens is about CHF 6.- (one way)
In which month this video was recorded? I want to vist there in March but i think the Weather is not that good
I have just recently found your channel. I am catching up on your videos. Thank you for all the great content. Apologies if you have answered this question before. But how do you handle the altitude? I am wondering if you have tips for those who don’t handle altitude well. TY.
Hi Theresa, Thanks for your comment! I actually have a hard time with altitude myself as someone who lived the first 95% of my live at sea level :D. Whenever we visit the mountains I notice that I can often feel quite light-headed. In those cases I drink as much water as I can, and have snacks with me (carbs) which help. I also take it easy - if we're hiking I make sure to go slowly and not push myself too hard. Most Swiss cities are at lower altitudes, so you won't have a problem - but if you take the trains up to mountain peaks, you can get in the 2,000-3,000+ Meter range. Just listen to your body, stay hydrated, and have some carb-y snacks and you should be ok :)
Thanks for the video! Quick question - did you rent a car, or were you able to get around by public transport without any issues? Or would you recommend renting a car?
Excellent video. We are visiting Lucerne in November 2022 and this video was helpful. How much time it takes to Mt. Pilatus and return back from Lucerne
Hi, if I have Swiss travel pass, would all the train ride, toboggan ride, cogwheel etc up and down is free?
Great video!
thank you for watching! :)
@@TheTravelingSwiss thank you for creating such a great video
Hi there. I'm impressed by your travel in Lucerne. but may I ask what camera are you using during the filming? thanks
Do they allow children and toddlers on the toboggan if they are riding with their parents?
nice, were you guests of the tourist office? This trip is listed at sF72, sf36 with a half fare card and free with a Swiss pass. this was my favorite trip until i discovered the aglie to Leysin rack rail line, free with swiss pass.
Do check out my Lucerne walking tour video as well!!
ua-cam.com/video/---x_fFBF34/v-deo.html
please share the price for Gondolas, train and wherever applicable
Thank you for this awesome video. Just a small query. Can you please let me know whether the ticket fare of Gondola and Cogwheel Railway are be included in the Day pass or not.
Thanks in advance. Best wishes.
If I travel from Zurich to Lucern buying Point to Point ticket tehn get Visitor Card for Lucern, I do noeed to buy Swiss travel pass for that day correct?
One day l would like to live their in the Italian part of Switzerland 😊
Great videos, added three days in Basel after watching your video. I have two days to fill on my itinerary and I was thinking Zürich but after watching this video I’m wondering if Lucerne would be a better option… would you recommend one over the other? Could I stay in Zürich and do a day trip to Lucerne or skip Zürich and just do Lucerne? FYI I’ll be there early May.
Thanks!
Hi! May i ask what when was this video filmed? Which month
Hi there! I'm super excited to be here watching this awesome video. New Friend here to your channel. Would love to stay connected
Thank you for the video! how many days would you recommend to stay here? thanks!
We are planning to visit Luzern in June 2022 & would like to cover the places covered in your video. Does the luzern transport card cover the bus ride to Krienz and the Gondola ride to Frakmuntegg station & Pilatus Kulm followed by the funicular ride down to luzern.
Hi Swiss Couple,
I am to visit Lucerne on December 31 this year, whether the Tobbogan will be open and the return down train that you boarded from Palatus (Panorama). ?
Please guide
how long it take full visit all places in this video? can we take the afternoon to the end of the day? noon to 6PM
Hi there! Yes I think that’s doable - I would recommmend leaving early and doing the Pilatus first. You can likely see all of the sites in the actually city of Lucerne in 2-3 hours. (Old city walls, lion of Lucerne, chapel bridge, old town)
Of course if you stop for lunch / dinner it’ll take longer but you can likely do all of this in a day
We already did in May 30
If I buy a day pass, will it cover the Pilatus funicular? Thank you!😊
Hi - Is the Toboggan open in March?
How much does the train from Lucerne cost and also how much are the mountain rides?
Once you came down what is best way back to Lucerne?
Did you buy every train and gondola ticket individual or did u had a package and is the boat ride included in it?
Any suggestions on where to stay while there?
Is the Lake flowing below Chapel bridge called "Lake Lucerne" ? Or is it different ? Can you please confirm
Lake Lucerne in english, in the native german it's Vierwaldstättersee
Next time you do a Lucerne video, maybe include the Festung built in the mountain next to the lake that served to defend Sxitzerland from any possible attack from Nazi Germany.
Hey Guys where did you stay?which Hotel?
We stayed in The Hotel Lucerne, Autograph Collection www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/emlak-the-hotel-lucerne-autograph-collection/overview/
Did you buy any special kind of pass for the different activities?
DId you get the tickets for Kriens to Pilatus-Kulm and Pilatus-Kulm to Alpnachstad in advance?
Can you walk from Lucerne to the gondola?
I'm going to Switzerland for the first time in october and i'm planing a daytrip from Zurich to Lucerne. Do you think it's possible to see and experience Lucerne and have time to visit Pilatus in one day?
I really like to visit the swiss mountains and Pilatus seems more price friendly than the other mountains?
Thank you for informative videos.
Hi! Yes definitely possible starting g from Zurich to do Lucerne and Pilatus in one day - Lucerne is quite small so you can really see it all in just a couple of hours!
Hi, do you buy the tickets for the gondola on the spot or made reservation in advanced? Can you get down the gondola at any stops unlimited times? Thank you
