👍🏻 That was exactly my thought when I saw this addon for the first time. I could have saved a LOT of hours there. But then I guess it makes me appreciate it more. Depending what you're using this for next Monday I've got a video I think you'll also appreciate.
Like clockwork, you've managed to introduce another add-on more or less when my team and I have needed it! very powerful and exciting new tool to play with 😁 His beveled extrude is also such a great value-add to be honest. Fantastic for paneling work!
As soon as I subscribed to this channel, I started to see videos on amazing tools like this. I came for copper, found gold! If I start making money more often, I'll be sure to buy these addons, especially this one and Perspective Plotter... Thank you for these very well made videos, they are extremely clear when you watch them, I don't feel like I'm losing on anything!
This addon is great for adding details on curved surface while editing object in planar way. I think behind the scene, this addon is using combo of mesh deform, shrinkwrap, data transfer, subdiv and vertex weight. I will also suggest that the addon developer should use another option for fall off by applying solidify modifier on grid surface so the rivets get perfect bending.
Wow, this is very helpful for specific uses, and more generalized. Without the shader, it was a decent shrink wrap and the little distortion probably would not matter on small printed models, but being able to change the distortion is very helpful.
Just a thought that came to my mind; couldn't you just create both elements, the plate and the plug with the thread, then use a wrap modifier only on the plate, applying it and now join both parts of the model? I will have a look for myself on this. Interesting add-on btw.
Oh in this instance totally. It was just a good example because the threads made it easy to see any distortion. Also components like this are a bit easier to store as asset or it might be an STL file online.
@@ArtisansofVaul thanks for the reply. I think I know where you coming from. You even mentioned it in your video, this add-on is made to handle more complex meshes.
For sure. I think you might need to tweak the grid a little to get the icon to look perfect but there is a setting allowing you to do that, which is awesome.
HI, I'm trying to do it the same way you do but fail to make the thread. I have machin3tools installed but the context menu does not show up. I know it's not the point of that video. But hopefully you can help anyway. Thanks!
No problem. You need to go to the addon preferences in the edit menu and then enable the thread part of the addon. I have it in more detail on this video: ua-cam.com/video/HWL_cpNEKn8/v-deo.html
So they functions in a really different way in that it takes an object and then deforming it. The meshmachine plug tool requires prebuilt plugs and/or some specific geometry requirements for it to work.
That should work alright but do you mean rounded as in close to a cylinder? You might be better off with Flowify by the same add on creator. ua-cam.com/video/pR_orYag9sk/v-deo.html
@jamesvandiver7193 hmm... Ok, I think this could work pretty well then. Depending on the mesh (which makes it difficult for me to know for sure) flowify or mesh materializer (blendermarket.com/products/mesh-materializer) could be better. They will all work it just depends which is the easiest for the mesh
@ArtisansofVaul Another quick question for you, how much ram do you recommend running with blender? It seems to be a resource hog at times. Current setup is ryzen 5 5600x, 16gb ram and a radeon rt 6600 xt.
@jamesvandiver7193 So my old laptop had 32Gig I believe and that worked fine unless I was really pushing it but some tasks would be an issue. It does really depend what you're doing though
i'm not buying any more of these addons until i get Flowify working and after intensive searching and several days, i cant get it to work with blender version 3.3 to 4.2
After hours messing with Shrinkwrap and the Lattice tool, you solved my issue. Thank you

Perfect timing. I LITERALLY just purchased this addon and was looking up tutorials for it.
Awesome 😁 Glad to have the timing on point

Awesome to hear 😁😁😁 I'll have to check that one out. I was wondering if it was possible with Geometry nodes but I don't think it is 🤔
I have purchased two addons from him in the past. Very clever solutions provider.
Totally agree. I've been really impressed

Another great find! Thanks for sharing! This will definitively come in handy for sure!
😁 Cheers Norm 👍🏻
EXACTLY What I was looking for !!!
Thank You once again my Absolute Friend 😭🙏
My pleasure man😁 Thanks again for taking the time to watch and comment on so many videos 👌🏼
Wow, another tool I’ll be using that’ll greatly speed up my workflow ❤
Do check out my videos on Flowify. Same designer but depending on your use you might find one more helpful than the other. 👍🏻

Seems like a likely combination. I also wonder if there is anything lattice related for some of the settings.
Great application of a new add on!
Cheers Richard 😁👍🏻

Yeah I was very impressed with it and the distortion just brings in such a level of control. I love it.

@@ArtisansofVaul Thank you for explaining, will give it a try
I really love this addon bt it's really difficult to make it work in some surfeces
Would you be able to give some examples? I haven't found any real issues so far so would love to explore a bit further.
I thought wow this addon is amazing I must purchase it - and I already had. Can't remember when I got it but I have it, so there's that 😀
Lmao. That's always so funny when that happens 😅
Can you use this to engrave text objects on to rounded surfaces? I'm trying to engrave text on rounded power armour.

I haven't tried as far back as 3.3 but I have it working on 4.0 perfectly (haven't had a chance to try on 4.1 yet)
so how do i trouble shoot it on 4.0?@@ArtisansofVaul
ok then i 'll just ask for my money back

@Augustein Glad you got it all sorted. Not sure about the chicken though 🤔
