I bought this pattern online, but following it was a complete nightmare (front panel). As I came to look for an alternative for the front panel, I stumbled on the video tutorial. Thanks a million for the video. It's a lifesaver!

FINISHED!!!! First project I made following a UA-cam video. THANK YOU!! My husband loves his (Bernat Baby sport yarn - grey) and my son now wants one too.

      was it very easy?

@@damienwilson8689 It was once you got past the first row of starting the cable pattern. You really need to pay attention to stitches and counts for the first row after the band. Once you have the first row set, you are good to go and the rest is easy peasy. I have made this in several different yarns and they all work up nicely. Give it a go, keep re-doing the first cable stitch row until you get the count right, and you won't be disappointed!

I recently started crocheting and I decided to make my boyfriend a sweater and he picked your pattern. I purchased it and the pattern + video were so helpful that even a beginner like me was able to make this beautiful cabled sweater! I just packed it away for him just in time for Christmas. I used 2 skeins of Lion Brand Pound of Love in Claret/Burgundy and it turned out beautifully. Thank you so much for your wonderful pattern and video!

I made this recently and had so many beautiful comments and people asking where to get the pattern! Of course I sent them here and told them of your wonderful tutorials and beautiful designs! I wish I could share my pic. It fit him perfectly and he absolutely loves it! Thank you MJ😊

Let's be careful on how we comment. There are new crocheters, and like myself I challenge myself. Being on the Spectrum and having ADHD, sometimes the comments are offensive, misleading, and discouraging. Keys humility, just because you have crocheted for years doesn't make you an expert, it makes you an advanced (what you do). Some people can't read the patterns, some can. Some can't follow the video, some can. Some can use both. Their is a community, meaning you are not alone. One thing I won't do is clout chase, but I will show respect. MJ gets that. Period. Don't throw shade, we know how to keep things lit.

My name is Donna, and I have crocheted over 40 years. Until I found your tutorials had never attempted cables but you made them so easy! I didn't have much luck with sweaters either. And this is the 2nd Christmas that I have made sweaters with cables for my family and friends! Thank you so much for putting these tutorials out here! Now to master socks!!

I'm currently working on this. My husband has sensitive skin so I opted to use bernat velvet and used a 3.25 mm and 3.75mm hook to obtain the correct gage since the yarn is a 5 bulky. We live in Texas so it's not so the acrylic yarn will be fine for warmth. Its working up beautifully! Thank you so much for the video!

So excited, finally another men's sweater tutorial! For so long I searched for an easy pattern to make a sweater for my husband, but couldn't find a video. I read some patterns but am better following visually. This was so easy to follow and gorgeously done. THANK YOU SO MUCH can't wait to make him a sweater for his birthday, and Christmas, and everyday wear lol.

I was looking for the perfect sweater style for my husband for YEARS and he easily APPROVED your design, he is a creative and well dressed man, all by himself, so I needed his approval.....he even decided on Caron Soft TWEED and we are both stoked to get started.
I appreciate your measurement chest chart in pdf, TONS !!!
I am a large hook girl, crocheting since 4th grade, have enjoyed the J hook as my smallest hook but LoVE K and L and M....soooo for your creation, I will give the G and H a gooooo, using Caron TWEED, if I do not get the correct gage due to my crochet tension, do you think your creation will work up if a J hook gives me the correct gage?
    Thank you for your assist.

Hi MJ, I am following along with your pattern and need to use a 4mm hook on 8ply (what I think is worsted weight, I am from Australia and don't have yarn labelled as worsted, just in plys) on the band for the front and back of the jumper. I'd just like to know if the band needs to have an even number of stitches or a certain measurement length ways, as my band is looking rather short at the half way point for the small size jumper. Thank you 🙂

Okay, so I tore it out and redid it, making sure I had 76 stitches. HDC 5 stitches and followed along with the video with better cables but for some reason I am still short on stitches! I dont understand, I am following along and making sure to put the right stitch where it shows in the video and as in the website but it comes short! Somebody! Help!
