I love it how Lee's awake and realises the whole system is a scam and speaks out about it as well. I've done martial arts in the past and wanted to get back into it but 2020 put me off as I didn't want to mix with people who were asleep and not able to see outside the box. Wish I could find an instructor like Lee near me. Thanks for the online tuition Lee it has helped me gain confidence and knowledge.
Agree avoidance os best ,but if not goe like fuck I worked the door for 17 years in the second city and seen people batterd, kicked to bits over the most trivial shit! Most people dont understand how QUICK and sudden anti social/criminal violence is and how little time and space u hav to operate, in my humble opinion we should all strive to train for this and maintain a good level of skill for ourselves and the important people in our lives!
An important point is that each jurisdiction has its own rules on this. In my state in the USA, we have a differentiation of assault versus battery. Assault is someone creating a reasonable belief that they are imminently going to harm you. It does not require physical contact, only the threat of it. Battery is them actually taking some action to harm you. You can defend yourself against assault even if battery has not been committed. You have no duty to retreat (called "Stand Your Ground"). Your response has to be proportional to the threat, but that includes "disparity of force." Disparity of force might include if I am a 72 year old man and the attacker is a young thug, one punch could be fatal. So it could be reasonable for me to use deadly force to defend against assault. The same is true for a female defending against a male rapist. Disparity of force is assumed and she can use deadly force to defend.
@@antejamio4517 to You said that! To start a bottom of $350 an hour! To get one that’s experienced and good, better than prosecutor it’ll probably cost more!
@@antejamio4517 You just said it. A rookie would be $300 an hour surely. Finding someone not in the melt and just as skilled as P.A. Or D.A., it’ll cost money! Where as Americans we shouldn’t be pushed into such a corner!
There was a kid in Ireland jailed for stabbing a man who invaded his home specifically to do him harm and assaulted his mother in the process. Because the judge "wasn't happy with the Providence of the knife" even if it had been under his pillow it's still in his own home. Even if the teenager was a little shit who had damaged the guys car ,(that was the story) it shows you how bad things have gotten with the law.

Regarding to premptive self defence in Scandinavia from a Swedish perspective is that in principle acts of "Preventive self-defense" is not alowed. However if an attack is *_imminent_* then a pre-emptive action can, if the circumstances is right, be deemed as justified. The exact wording regarding self-defense (nödvärn) in Swedish law (found in Chapter 24, Section 1 of the Swedish Penal Code [Brottsbalken]), is as follows: "An act committed in self-defense constitutes a crime only if, considering the nature of the attack, the importance of the protected interest, and the circumstances in general, it is obviously unjustifiable. The right to self-defense applies against: 1. An initiated or *_imminent_* criminal attack on a person or property. 2. Anyone who, by violence or threat of violence or by other means, prevents the immediate recovery of property. 3. Anyone who unlawfully enters or attempts to enter a room, house, yard, or vessel. 4. Anyone who refuses to leave a dwelling after being asked to do so." So the law is not very clear on what is considred "imminent" or not. Exactly what "obviously unjustified" means is also not very clear but the general principle is a symetric response (so no gun in a fist fight, and no kicking when they are down, but a gun in a gun fight or even a knife fight can be considered ok) - or "no more force then the situation demands to neutralize the threat". But it can extremely hard to no that exactly on fore hand. However there is another clause about excessive self-defense where the wording for self-defense excess (nödvärnsexcess, found in Chapter 24, Section 6 of the Swedish Penal Code [Brottsbalken]) as follows: "If someone, in a situation covered by Sections 1-5 of this chapter, Section 10 of the Police Act (1984:387), or Chapter 2, Section 4 or Chapter 6, Section 2 of the Coast Guard Act (2019:32), *has acted beyond what is permissible, they shall still be free from liability if the circumstances were such that they had great difficulty controlling themselves* ." This provision allows for leniency if a person uses excessive force in self-defense due to the intense pressure or stress of the situation, and it recognizes that individuals may not always act proportionately in moments of extreme distress. There is also something called *_putative self-defense_* (also known as imaginary self-defense). This occurs when a person genuinely but mistakenly believes they are under an imminent threat of attack, leading them to act in self-defense, even though there is no actual threat or the threat cannot be proven. If the defending person can convince the court that they were convinced that they were under an imminent attack then their acts shall be judged in the light of that. Another thing is that for example illegal carry of weapons is tried seperatly from the self-defense. So you can carry a gun and kill an attacker with it in self defense and be deemed to act in justfiable self defense but be convicted of illegally carry a fire arm. One do not interfere with the other. So the Swedish law permit far going acts in self-defense but the path is very narrow and if you step outside it then you will be convicted. Whith the current social climate the politicians is looking to make the applications of these laws more lenient and alowing then they have been in the past. We'll see what will happen. But in general the criteras presented in this video would hold up in court, if you convince the court that the circumstances were, or that you were convinced they were, as you present them.
Situational awareness. Stau away from known hot zones. Be confident, workout, be a LION not a sheep. Be wise. Seems their is less and less places people can safely exist thus don't expect problems to go away or somone else to solve them for you. If possible walk with a group of like minded trained folk who will stand their ground when fights start. If they beake the safety distance and come at you its self defense time to act. Never let someone inside your space. Already lost if you are not trained.
As just an average bloke in the street, I'm not sure, at what point, I'd be able to give myself permission to pre-emptively hit someone, even if all the ques were there, I imagine it's easy to talk yourself out of acting.
You can generally tell/gut feeling when to strike first... based on their body and verbal language, aggression level, eye contact, their demeanor and the situation as a whole. It helps if you can read a situation correctly. Personal space plus gut feeling would be the time to pull the trigger on a pre-emtive strike, if someone’s aggressive and moving towards your personal space then it's a no-brainer, as their intentions won't be anything other than bad. That said the best defence is prevention and awareness, don't put yourself in places where such things are likely to happen. Stay out of dodgy areas, especially at night and avoid places where people are high on drink and drugs, like city centers at night.

I’d rather need a lawyer than an undertaker.
If you can afford one and not one that’s on the take with the system!
When you see the bill you might change your mind. Just sayin'...

Slip the , ' Jab ' .
Just because you hit someone first doesnt mean your going to bang them out, life doesnt work that way im afraid,im 62 and learned that long ago
Lee isn’t saying that, but it’s better to attack first than wait for someone to swarm you
