The characters were traveling across the Greenland ice cap in a Citroen snow crawler. I always envisioned one of these...
I grew up with VWs, the tank is unique and holds my interest. But having your son be a part of your journey is more important to me to see. A positive experience and memories for him to see later. I'm sure your friends & family likes watching your journeys too.

It kind of reminds me of an old Citroen or Peugeot postal service truck with a half- track chassis under it. I like it. I hope to see it running on new tires and with the rest of the parts of the roof(if you can find it) installed .(you should have gotten the old roof rack that was on its bonnet in the first video.

Is it made by VW, or does it just have a VW engine and perhaps transmission? I once owned a '66 Beetle in a color called Bahama Blue which looked a lot like this color. Does it have the rest of the enclosure?
did you clean the engine compartment , oil, lube it? seems like you were more interested in getting it started, than checking fluids and lube? and air cleaner? I'm sure you did I see so many video's of people just rushing to make it run, with out cleaning it first.

On the other hand, air-cooled engines do not produce much heat for the occupants. My older brother had a VW Beatle without the gas heater, and we were freezing in his car.

All Snow-Tracs before 1968 have 6 volts and the serial number runs from the year 1960 #130-2315, year 1980 and the first models number 57001-59129. made 1957-1959.

While you could order one with a cloth top which had wooden slats that ran in a track, I don't see the track in this one. the top is typical of the hard top version.

I didn't know this existed until your videos. I love this Snow track. It blows my mind how rust free it is. That can't be common.
The aluminum body doesn't rust. but the steel frame members where they are covered by the skin frequently are. It's not visible until the body is off.
I had a Matchbox version of the Snow Trac when I was a kid in the 1960s. Had no idea the real ones were powered by a VW engine. :)

It was made by a Swedish Farm equipment company, it uses vw parts engine and a modified transmission by the looks 🤙🏼😃

Have to give the original designer credit, using an air cooled engine in a vehicle designed to operate in sub-freezing temperatures is smart.

should have used COMET or Ajax and scrubbed off that first layer of dirt. would come out better.
