Nairobi Bus park terminus which is currently is in disuse is perfect for an electric car, bus, motor bike charging station. The place is perfect to be converted into an electric car and bus charging station. One of the major issues of electric cars and buses is luck of charging stations. This place would be ideal for that. Its located central in the middle of Nairobi and thus can be reached easily from all locations.Electric motor bikes , cars and buses would utilize this as their charging station this would encourage more people to start using electric cars for cleaner air in nairobi. the place would be open 24 hrs.
Great thinking, these buses spend alot of time idling outside and solar panels could add some juice into their batteries, solar panel are not heavy so they will not compromise performance.
@@Bogitahericsome information if it helps. The average BasiGo Length is 9 meters an average 545w panel in width is 1.1 meters. You can fit 8 panels on the buss meaning you will generate 3,270wph or 3.7kwh with psh and efficiency factor taken into consideration. I am not to sure what motor the BasiGo uses but most EV,s use DC voltages that are above 350VDC. Meaning you will need a specialized controller to boost the voltage of the panel to charge the battery or a whole inverter AC setup to charge the internal battery. However there is another option that they could use the panels in a separate system to power other components in the vehicle like Air conditioning. So your idea has merit but not for charging the buss.
As an entrepreneur, I have to ask: what happens to the Kenyan-trained scientists and engineers-the likes of Otieno, Marwa, and Mungai-when the founders are people from other countries? If we’re calling something “Kenyan made,” why aren't we highlighting our own local talent? We have skilled professionals right here, so why not complete the entire product life cycle in Kenya, using our resources and expertise? Let’s truly make it Kenyan from start to finish!
Nobody is preventing anyone from doing that. If a Kenyan entrepreneur doesn't have capacity to create the whole product then you can partner even with foreigners who believe in it. It is just common sense really.
