- In this video I make 3 small, quick and simple woodworking projects that would make great gifts (except for the door stop wedges ofcourse, no one wants to be given one of them for Christmas!).
The first project is a photo or paper display stand made from some salvaged cherry (it might not be cherry!).
The second is some oak door wedges.
The third is a sapele and oak desk tidy smart phone holder stand that holds a mobile phone and some pens.

Aug 2016 you said " I am already looking at this pile of offcuts and thinking that they would make pretty good door stops" YOU WEREN'T EVEN JOKING! haha
Haha!!! Yes that’s right. How time flies!
@@RagnBoneBrownhow did you make the makers mark stamp plz sir
Great video sir thanks
what a good tip with the hot glue thank you
Kieth, I love watching your videos and seeing how you make use of a small shop with limited budget. Glueing the stop block for those repeatable rip cuts was brilliant!
Thanks Keith! Another video simply explained, top notch results from offcuts.😀
Lovely ideas! Love the sapele and oak phone & pen holder
With slightly wider slots on the photo display design, you could easily make "now playing" stands for people who collect vinyl records and want somewhere visible to store the empty jacket of the currently playing album.
That’s a great idea!!
I love the phone stand. I have some Kentucky Coffee Tree wood and black walnut that would make for some nice accents for a desk.
Awesome ideas Keith, I'm learning so much!
si ya tenemos que empezar a preparar los regalos para fin de año,, muy bueno.. saludos
Great work! Thanks for sharing.
If I had all those tools there is no telling what I could make! :) Great projects and craftsmanship!
Great info, ideas and tips...💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
smashing lad
Your videos are kind of calming and therapeutic ❤️
Excelentes trabalhos! Parabéns 👏👏.
Definitely going to make some of the photo holders, so simple but look great!
Great ideas. Thanks.
Loaded just fine for me earlier on Keith. Nice work as always 👏
Nice video, I’ve made similar phone stands from pallet blocks. Cheers Keith.
I really like the cell phone holder Keith. That was a great idea!
Great phone holder, I think ill make some as well. Thanks for sharing.
Some good ideas for offcuts 👍
Some more great little projects there Keith, Good stuff 👍
Nice and simple Santa...
Some excellent, easy gift ideas. To cut the phone holders on the mitre saw in one go try using a sacrificial fence at the back👍👍
Nice gift ideas, mate 👍
Love the look of the wood for those picture holders, oodles of character 👌
I have just bought one of the pen/phone holders. Can’t wait to use it.
Thanks Chris!
Hi Keith, i've started watching u because you have the same table saw i have. thought i could learn something more about it. i was always verry fond of your videos but the last 15 videos or so you really improved your self they become better and better! keep up the good work! regards Kevin from holland
Great projects! I have the same problem with my small pillar drill. I have the base plate swung out of the way and I have 6 squares of offcut mdf that I stack up to give me various heights instead.
Great video I just found this channel the other day and now I'm binge watching it
I made a phone holder similar to yours and found putting some self-adhesive felt (got mine from hobbycraft) to the base and also where the phone sits means it doesn't slide on my desk and also looks classy as hell :D
Guys I found the best website about woodworking that is
t.co/z6o0f8z2H4 this site contains thousands of woodworking projects and plans
Excellent
Simple but great ideas. And a little bit of space gained in your workshop ;D
I wonder if you ever throw some scrap wood away :-)
Great use of the scraps. Very original ideas. Thanks for sharing.
Nice video! I'm sure pocket appreciates the love :)
Really great ideas 👍
Really nice gift ideas and well made
A nice little video Keith, and using scrap wood to make little useful gifts is a good idea, well worthy of a 5 ☆ rating
I like the phone holders, very nice work 👌
The phone stand is a very cool idea , you can also use it for cards . I like it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This video was so good I enjoyed it twice ❤️🐈
Well done Keith, a great use of wood from the off cut bin!
Also enjoyed your Christmas gift list, some useful suggestions there.
Keep up the good work 😀
Thank you!
Smart woodworking Rag'n' Bone Brown u inspiret me in m'y workshop
Always a pleasure watching your videos and what great ideas you come up with...To bad I’m in Australia just the postage would cost me more then the item!! 😆
Nice one keith I've made some pen holders for Christmas present s out oak only problem had is do not have a pillar drill so took while drill out with bit
Nice wood work
Nice
great job. the stamp makes every thing look really profesional
*TopFineWoodworking. Com* is a fantastic website about wood working. I took various classes as well as finished a one year diploma in carpentry at a local tech college; this is much better than any book I worked out of during those lessons. It explains everything regarding woodworking as well as complements it with helpful photos.?
The phone holders are cool. Would be great if you could somehow hide a wireless charger just behind the face that the phone leans against with the cable coming out of the back. They could be plugged in and also charge ur phone while it’s resting on it.
"I remembered I had a Table saw" Too funny! Mine ends up being a work bench and have to clean off to use.
I know that feeling
Instead of hot glue to the table. clamp a piece to the fence then you don't have to move the fence each time you cut. You move the work.
With the phone holder you could have swung the table on your pillar drill out of the way and used the base if that would have fit
Great ideas there. By no means crateaking your work but maybe some felt on the phone holder for protection? Like the bottom of the chess pieces
That's no joke Keith, I was all set up with my coffee and dinner and then u just take the vid meo offline haha, well let's make some coffee first! Greetings mate!
Thanks! UA-cam sabotaged me this week so I had to re-upload... it was a frantic 40 minutes!
Merry Christmas to you and Ria..and a Happy New Year...;-p
After getting this stuff few days ago, I could hardly put it down afterwards [Link Here== *TopFineWoodworking. Com* ]. There are lots of colorful pictures, with detailed descriptions of every step in the project. You will never miss your way using this plan. It was more than I expected.?
The phone holder, I think, could be wider. Then when you watch videos on your phone, the sound is reflected back at you. Just a thought. Also, you could make iPad sized holders too...
If you need an extra inch or two, to make a project set under your drill press, you can always cut the drill bit down.
I am a subscriber!
8:35 next time swing the drill table out and place the wood on the drill base itself, add scrap below if you need it raised a bit.
Alright, instead of hot glue on your table saw, use a toggleable magnetic base - fairly sure the DW745 is a pressed steel top so it should stick well.
An argument against it being cherry is that it did not burn.... 😀
I’m sure I watched this video before my afternoon nap. Must be something in my tea.
Can I ask, did it appear in your subscription feed or did you find it in some other way? There was a problem with it not appearing hence the re-upload, and I can’t fathom what went wrong 😩
Rag 'n' Bone Brown yep, I got notifications of both videos.
Strange there’s a gremlin in the system somewhere
Incense burner, pencil box, wood dices, napkins holders, also seem to be easy woodworking projects. How about a video on these o.O?
Could you not have swung the drill press plate off to one side to drill? Nice ideas.
Why didn’t that occur to me 🙄
@@RagnBoneBrown I was just going to say the same, as I have to do that all the time. I would love a bigger drill. Those phone stands are my favourite.
@pocket83 : it's called an octahedron 9:16
"I remembered I had a table saw" implying you forgot. XD
Nice video , may i ask where you got your branding iron
Shame you did not make a wider phone stand , would have loved one for my tablet.
That’s a good idea, I’ll make some of those 👍
Hi Keith how did you make your makers mark stamp plz
Is that a 14" General International bandsaw? I have one of those and I hate that thing. The guide bearings it comes with are absolutely garbage. I ended up changing them all out with Timken bearings of the same size and it's a lot better now, but I still have nightmares about it lol
Hi Keith sir how do you make your maker's mark plz
Hi
How you making the home made wax oil?
Thanks
Were can i find some sapele for projects id like to make? Any suggestions
There’s some on eBay search for sapele timber or ask your local timber merchant
Please Send More Video Small Wood Items
Apologies if I’m missing something here, but why the need for the sacrificial fence for those 40mm cuts? Why not just set the fence to 40mm?
Chance of kickback on tablesaw when cutting narrow strips from a wide board because the bulk of the weight of the material is on the “waste” side of the blade
Keith, I just noticed that your riving knife is slightly lower than the blade (6.44) on my saw which is an Axminister the knife is about 12 mm higher and means I cant cut like this. This means I have to take off the knife to do this type of cut. Did you adjust your knife or is that the way it came from the factory Regards Kevin.
I adjusted mine with an angle grinder so I never have to remove it
@@RagnBoneBrown clever!
That's great, did you cut off the bottom and redrill the bolt holes or just cut the top ? If I cut the top I will lose the dust hood and the guard. But so be it.
Wait, was that oak for the doorstops from those hat and coat racks?
Haha yep!
Which angle is this simple
Where did you get your makers mark from?
eBay
Where is the best place to buy the wood from? Oak, cherry etc
ua-cam.com/video/1AK2kJHFELA/v-deo.html
Where did you get your "makers mark."?
eBay
Can i just ask if you do this as a hobby or is your job? 🤔Im trying to creat my brand kinda but i have very limited time and dont exactly what to do😱
This is an old video, and I had a full time job back then 👍
So it is possible good to know now i just have to do it😜
Who is the gorgeous fellow at 2:53? 👀
That’s my hunk of a cat Dylan. He features in my videos occasionally
Couldn't you have just swivelled your drill press table out the way?
Yes I don’t know why I didn’t think of that
really liked the holder with pen slots. but if i'm honest, this video felt a little forced? or is it just me?
In what way?
The wood looks like piranha pine, does it smell a bit funny ?
It didn’t have much of a smell, as far as I noticed.... but I was wearing a respirator!
