So many ignorant comments about this guy having his own forklift. If you have acreage and stuff to move it’s not uncommon to own a piece of equipment. Buying a used forklift isn’t that hard to do. And the wheels? Of course your not going to move a loaded container! Those wheels are more than strong enough to handle a quarter of the weight of that container! This is a great invention and it does exactly what it is intended to do. It could do it all day every day. So many keyboard engineers talking about a world they don’t understand.
Good concept. Don't get discouraged by the shortsighted comments by people who can't see the big picture on where this could be used, such as limited space areas.
That's really cool. All I need now is a storage container that needs to be moved and a large diesel tractor with a forklift attachment. Then I'd be set.
Aaron Gardner you can get away with it on a pallet jack of needs be.....when you get a weight moving it don’t take much to keep it moving. I’ve moved em on timbers with a small 50’s era tractor that only has 7hp....but it does weigh 1100#

Actually, they make dual wheel swivel casters for the front end. A pair of them and a rigid tow bar (simple triangular design), you can tow it with a pickup truck.
This is the coolest, smartest, no DER! thing in forever!! I want one! This will take my random furniture moving wild hairs to a WHOLE new level. On a serious note...seriously...I need one as mine had to be dropped close to the road.
Clever. When I got mine, we moved it in with a crane, and what a pain that was.. If we could have just wheeled it in like that, it would have made life a million times easier. There may be a next time, and I'll be remembering this for then. Edit: I suppose you're wondering why the crane was such a pain.. In short - overhead power lines.
What an awesome idea. I have three 40' containers to move. I looked on their website but they were not available there that I saw. I will be building a set of those tomorrow.
Decent for ground handling where a delivery rollback cannot go because they could be towed or winched in place, for example where I winched a High Cube behind my house on rollers. They're small enough to carry on the Landoll or rollback truck for specialty use. I suggest making one pair steerable by using a towbar with quick disconnect drag link and simple spindles borrowed from a commercial truck or similar so users do not necessarily require the heavy duty forklift. That way an operator could use the delivery rollback (and a chain hooked to the deck) to lift and lower the container as needed but could use anything including a truck to place the container in awkward spots after which its a simple matter to jack the box and pull the wheels.
For those who don't see the point, I guess you have never tried to move one of these things. For those who say to just use the fork-lift, I guess you have never tried to move one of these things.... or even driven a fork-lift.... which is VERY unstable while turning with a wide load. Hint: try driving your car with something 20 ft wide blocking your view while trying to tip you over at the same time. (I thought so!)
@Rupe53 -- Here here! And god forbid there should be a temporary drop off on one side, or a low spot (or even high spot!). It doesn't take much at all to get a 10 or 15 or 20 [degree] tilt away from plumb. I think this is brilliant, the simplest solution to a problem I've been thinking about for a couple years.... I have two (2) 40 [ft] HC containers coming as soon as the frost laws are lifted, and must move both ~1000[ft] total... down a rickety, eroded drive, across a creek bed, back up a smoother drive, around a corner, along a wavy future drive, up a bumpity grassy hill, and around a final turn. I think a pair of these wheel/hub/bracket assemblies would be just the ticket.
Watch you local industrial auctions where equipment and containers may be sold. I bought 4-40' HC containers with side doors for an avg. of $6500.00usd each. They retail locally for $15000.00usd each
@@rhill2663 there are lots of companies that customize their containers with regular doors and side doors and doors on each end . The problem is you have to get either new doors or scavenge them from another container. Another somewhat less expensive option is roll up doors like some storefronts etc have. It depends on how much security and vermin/weather proofing you want. Sometimes cheaper to buy 2 containers and convert the door on one to a walk in door and use original door for other container. Then sell the walk in door container unless you have a use for it.

Great idea, it's a shame no one had thought of it before, like when containers were invented or at least when containers were for other purposes (Garages, Homes, Shops, etc...). ;-) Just think of how much ground didn't need to be cleaned up (ruts from tractors trying for grip, pulling a "dead" load) and re-landscaped due to dragging a container pass a house, through a yard, that months later needs to be moved again because it was placed in a poor location (flooding?).
This kind of rig is pretty useless without a proper drag bar. You can´t make any sharp turns. The container will lock up against the forklift.. And yes, i do know what i am talking about
@@J1I9M7M4Y If you don't make any sharp turns, then this rig is VERY useful. Certainly more useful than just dragging across the ground (grass, rock, pavement, mud...).
