I can confirm that the said sweetcorn was delicious 😋 I’ve prepared some apples for the freezer for your return home. Enjoy the holiday, time to relax and restore 🥰
Lovely vlog Dora. Looked like a great harvest. Your sunflowers look amazing. The light certainly is slowly changing to that autumbn glow. We will soon be raking up leaves for leaf mould !
Thank you so much Robin, I’m pleased you enjoyed watching the allotment pursuits this week. I was super happy with the harvest and you’re so right about the autumn glow. I’m sad that the season is changing already, after the ‘summer’ we’ve had - but looking forward at the same time 🌞🌻🍂
Cheeky squirrels! I didn’t spot many growing but I’ve heard that plums have good years every 3 years? Have you seen this? Hope you’ve managed to have some juicy plums 😃
So much to harvest! You have made such a lovely space there. I hope our allotment can be just as nice. We aren’t allowed a shed though so that’s a bummer
Lovely video. I recently took on a small allotment plot and am following with interest. Also I am loving your little ankle boots. What a great colour ❤
Yay, what is your plot like at the moment? Will you have a lot of work to do over winter to get it ready for spring or is it pretty ready to go? Thank you for following along, I'm pleased you find the videos interesting! Aren't they sweet - I managed to get a bargain in the le chameau sale too so I couldn't resist! They also had a yellow which I think would be cheery for winter.
@@doras.allotment It is only a half plot to be going on with and there is a lot of digging and clearing to be done. I am also going to do no dig for most of my beds but am keeping a bit of the plot for market garden style beds. I have plonked some potatoes in for Christmas and am going to put in some broad beans to over winter, but that will be it until next year!
@@Kristy-c1c this all sounds fantastic! I also think this time is the perfect time to take on a new plot. The excitement and planning of it carries you through the drearier months! Please do keep sharing how you are getting on ☺️
Another Great video Dora love the way you have a little helper to compact your compost ! 🤣 I have a couple of questions if you don't mind ? any reason you use cardboard as a base layer rather than a weed suppressant ? and how do you get your globe artichokes to grow I've had a few attempts at home then put some plugs in at the allotment and they all died😥 but i guess thats gardening off to sunny Devon to our friends farm Devon cream teas cant wait take care and keep posting👍
Thank you Aaron! Bruno is a lovely companion at the allotment and now seems to want to help too 😃 of course! I have made a note of these to answer in one of my next videos, so I can give a better response than via here. Devon sounds delighted, especially with your friends farm and cream teas. Enjoy!!
Last time I was in Greece i got some large white beans at a fruit and vegetable market for about ten cents Planted them the following spring and they grew extremely well . Great tasting too and over ten feet tall .
What a beautiful, relaxing spot it looks to be. Such lovely fruits and veg too and fun to watch the new bed being created by you and your dog 🐕!
Thank you Joanne, it certainly is a place of escapism ☺️ hehe Bruno certainly helped with the new bed making 😃
