I've been bingewatching your first videos all weekend while cleaning the house. You're such a great youtuber already!!! Great garlic selection. Posh bag too 😂🤔 I'll look into the garlic feed. Not sure if mines ran out.. great reminder. Thanks Dora!.
There is definitely a sweet spot for harvesting the tree spinach seed heads. Ah no, now I'm tempted by harlequin squash too!! 😂 Well done on the garlic 👍
Lovely video, as usual Dora. That harlequin squash was blooming gorgeous! So pretty. I might need to add it to the list. Have you tried it yet? Lovely garlic haul. I’m growing Provence Wight too (and caulk wight) from last year’s saved seed. Lovely garlic. Didn’t know there was specific garlic feed. Thanks for that. The butternut squash was insanely huge! Well done ❤❤
Thank you Clare! 🥰 Oh isn't it pretty... I think you should 😋 I only had the two squashes from the whole plant but they're gorgeous. Not yet, they're a 'display' at the moment in the kitchen. Ooh look forward to seeing your garlic too! The butternut squash is now a soup (thanks to Mother!) and I'm wondering whether I should plant more next year... hmm decisions!
Looking Very Autumnal Dora I didn't realise there were different types of garlic I'm so looking forward to my crop. I have Harvested some of my late potatoes there were quite abundant also had to harvest my last tomatoes (although still green ) but i had nearly 5Kg ! Kohl rabi is coming along well and enjoying shaping the plot to how i want it! keep posting another very enjoyable video 😃
Great update Dora , I love Garlic from The Garlic Farm, I've only ever grown theirs and over the last 2 or 3 years I've replanted what I've grown , I would definitely recommend the fertilizer I think it's great and definitely notice a difference , will be interesting to see how you go with yours xx
Oh brilliant stuff! Looking forward to seeing how it grows this year and hoping I can save lots of seed for the following year also. Brill that the fertiliser makes a difference too. Happy gardening Jim!
Verbascum thapsus - mullein - the flower growing on the edge of your bed, I think. They are super cool, I've collected some seeds. They grow in the wild here (in Oslo) as well, in dry and sunny areas. Great work, and thanks for the reminder on fertilizing garlic. It seems like such a plant and forget sort of crop.
Lovely, thank you for confirming the flower! I think I'll need to take the one out and leave just the one on the edge because of the size. It is indeed, I'm really hoping to have a good harvest next year 🤞🏻 hope you have lots of garlic too! 🧄
Definitely looking autumnal now Dora, we are cloudy and the rains have finally let up for now. I still haven’t decided on garlic 🧄, but I better hurry up or they won’t be any. Hey one butternut is better than none, there are green recipes online too. Garlic looks fab. Hope your feeling better, Ali ☔️☔️🇨🇦
Fab update Dora, super video ❤ What a lovely garlic package, never mind the garlic that bag is so nice 👍 I would use it for my shopping too, far too nice to get dirty at the allotment 😂 Lovely garlic selection, bit like an early Xmas pressie to yourself. 😊 Mullein looks fab, I think I'll order some seeds to plant in my flower beds to attract the pollinators of course.🤭😂 Nice sunflowers 🌻 🌻 🌻 did you take any photos? I've been putting some on my website and can include in my video too if you want with a link to your channel? Have a great week 🌻 ❤️
Thank you Linda! Hahah I totally agree, it's a great bag and has already had a few outings. It was certainly a birthday present to myself 🧄🧄 I'm really hoping I have lots of garlic next year 🤞🏻 I have a feeling that once you've grown the Mullein once you won't need to sow it again, it must be quite promiscious 🤣 I do have some photos of the sunflowers, I'll have to send you some, thank you that's very sweet ☺️ Have a lovely week too!
@doras.allotment That's fab Dora, thank you, I look forward to seeing your photos. I'm sure you'll have lots of garlic 😋 😊. I ordered Mullein seeds this morning after watching your video so it's all your fault if they self seed everywhere 😂 .... I'l share them with Danny and Co 👍😊😂 Danny was over for a cuppa earlier and I was saying to him, what a lovely sweet lady you are and your channel is so nice ❤️ x
Hehe I’ll take the blame for the seedlings! Thankfully they’re easy enough to identify and pull up if you don’t want them in a spot. Aw bless you, you two are very sweet! 🥰
Lovely vlog as always Dora, the harlequin squash look yummy. I will have to try growing them next year. My garlic going in tomorrow fingers crossed, never growing them before❤
Thank you Joanne, so pleased you enjoyed this weeks video. They are so pretty! Hope your garlic grows well 🧄 I’m looking forward to getting my remainder in this week - im also going to put some in pots at home as a back up!
@@doras.allotment I just love that! I do that for my potatoes in March! I always aim for about 200, that's cooking, canning and for seed. I love garlic so much!
Another fab video. I got mine in but am worried they are gonna rot with all the rain we are having... I'm tempted to pull up and put in the tunnel instead... your doggo is so well behaved mines a right menace 😂 I haven't taken him to plot yet as worried he's gonna terrorise everyone.
Thank you Lisa, pleased you're still enjoying the videos! Does your plot flood? I'd be tempted to leave them be as they are pretty resilient - saying that I have planted some in tubs today at home as a back up! Hahah looks can be deceiving he can also be a big menace! However, he's getting used to the plot and his boundaries now and spends most of the time following me around... and stealing my tools 🤣 Have a lovely week!

The more the merrier I'd say Kerry!! 😋

What variety of garlic have you planted? Ooh well done, sounds like you've had some great harvests!
@doras.allotment Hi Dora the garlic I planted is called Kingsland wight 😁
Congrats on 1 year, planted my garlic a bit ago and I'm so excited for next year. Already have far too many seeds bought lol
Thank you!! Eek very exciting and I don’t think it’s possible to have bought too many seeds 😋

Mullein is great. it flowers fromthe bottom upward if memory serves. We had one in our border this year. the buzzies liked it and so do moths.
Looking forward to seeing how it gets on next year, very pleased it will welcome the insects too ☺️

Hi Dora New sub here great job with the garlic
Thank you for subscribing, welcome to the allotment! ☺️
Mmmm...... ginger coffee.
😂 I love ginger hot chocolate but I wasn’t so sure about the coffee in this instance
I think I’ll plant some garlic after watching your interesting video, though I’m not sure I’ll succeed.😅
Thank you 😊 happy planting!! It’s always worth a go
from where did you buy the seeds for Tree Spinach originally ?
Hi, I bought this one as a young plant from a local nursery. However, I've seen that 'Sarah Raven' sells the seeds online ☺️
My original comment disappeared so I'm not commenting again .
This year I've planted Merseley Wight from last year's harvest.
Oh dear! Thanks for commenting again. That also looks like a good variety, and you must have found it successful last year 🧄🧄
