Seems this tool would also work really well in very cold situations (outdoor in frigid winter conditions which makes cold steel under great torque more likely to break the stud ) A great alternative.

I'm trying one of these on a rounded nut on a mower blade. One tip is to take it apart and liberally grease the threads before you use it. Apparently this helps to turn it easier with less deformation. They are very hard to turn, as you know.

Thanks. I tried to turn it by hand but it quickly got too hard to safely turn without worrying about it slipping off and me busting my butt. It has to be done standing up in my case. I'm going to buy an impact wrench today. Hope that works. My grass is embarrassingly high. I know they don't recommend impact wrenches but I've noticed many end up using them.

@@pay9011 a ratcheting ratchet also work great

Yeah. I used a ratchet wrench. I got a lower force impact wrench and will try it later today. I've got new bolts so if it gets trashed no biggie. Breaker bar would be cheaper but I wasn't sure it'd be enough.

Hey, it worked! The impact wrench was too long to fit on it so I tried to muscle it off with my standard socket wrench. It was a bear to turn but it very gradually ticked around. I think by turning it as far as I could a couple days ago and leaving it in there might have made the difference. I could actually hear and feel the nut split. There's a clean slice cut all the way through it. The tool looked in pretty good shape. I think going slow made the difference because it kept the cutting blade from jumping around.
I think I'll return the IW and buy a breaker bar.

I have the exact same problem and I am going to install the fuel pump right now. I will comment on the results. Fingers crossed. I need to finish the job in three hours so I can go see my grandsons football game at 3:00 today..

The diagnosis was correct and it fired right up and runs great. However, I was not able to get the fuel pump in the position to accept the two lock downs arms inside the half circles on each side of the fuel pump. I got it locked down with both arms just not in that exact position. I was thinking maybe the bottom of the fuel pump sat over some type of one way air vent or something. But, I don't know for sure and it seems to be fine so far, anyway... Now, I have an intermittent problem that comes and goes with what ever actuates the coils since there is no distributor?? I need to get that fixed, too, before I can sell the car. Other than that, it's a great car but I have thirty cars and I need to liquidate them because the cancer has come back with a vengeance I am going to list it for $9,900 obo 2007 S550 Base with 178,000 miles. The kids won the game 36-0 and the opposing team only past midfield on two occasions during the whole game.. Ouch! Go Titans! 11-13 yr. olds

This is useless if nut is recessed into the wheel hole.

Hey Kevin the mechanic. I got to tell you you're not a good mechanic and here's why.
First of all you trying to get the nut off and the whole tire is spinning on you. Make your life easy put the lug nuts back on and drop the car a little bit so the tire stopped spinning.
Number two. You have the ratchet rubbing against the other already good lug nut thread. Again protect other pieces that you're working on. Why not put the lug nut on the thread so it stops you from rubbing your ratchet back and forth on the threads? It's just easy common sense You're either lazy or you're not thinking about not making more problems for yourself
