Jodhpur boots are timeless! I own a pair too, in dark brown and they're my absolute favorite to wear classic style with unmatched comfort. They're my go-to for many occasions! I didn't know so much about them until this video thanks Antonio for this video.
The British Empire isn’t credited enough credit for its innovations in menswear. The British Empire not Italy nor France is the true timeless style. The Italians originally learned modern suit game from the British Empire. Then the American Empire was good at streetwear. The American Empire’s top student Japan came along and took over the casual wear segment of the market. 🇬🇧🤝🇺🇸🤝🇯🇵
I know I'm biased growing up wearing western / cowboy boots. But western boots in my opinion, polished up are better looking, more comfortable, dressier than any pair of Chelsea's. If you are worried about the heel on a western boot just get a "walking heel" which is lower than a typical riding heel. 🤷 Oh and wear a proper pant leg.
I agree with everything he said in this video, I recently bought a pair of Thursday rogues in dark olive suede, at first I thought they looked a little feminine but after wearing them I realized they just made me look more masculine, and they are so dang comfortable, and the tall ankle is amazing for support. Also I want to wear them with everything just because I can. also when he said it's hard not to get more than one pair off of Thursday boots he is so right, I own 4 pairs.
I got some dark brown/chocolate jodhpurs from Taft and the Taupe jodhpurs from Thursday boots. Comfortable, stylish and stand definitely pair well dressed down or dressed up.
Greetings from Jodhpur I suggest u can pair it with well stitch Jodhpuri suit and bridges(white). (Sp. Royal blue colour). Do cover next time jodhpuri hand stitched joti. Its next level. There is entire market dedicated to jodhpuri joti.
I have been considering this boot style. I have a lot of lace-up boots and I want one without laces that will allow me to remove and put on quickly (airport). The reasons you mentioned about the Chelsea are the reasons why I haven't ordered one. I just don't know how to style Jodhpur boots. Thanks for this video.
Jodhpur, i own two pairs, Grenson in tan, and Sanders in brown, as we say in England, like marmite, some love them, some hate them. I live in the Northamptonshire borders, all the top English shoe makers are less than 20 minutes away, Grenson, Cheaney , Crockett and Jones, Sanders still offer them, although I've not seen Trickers and Loake offering them for some time.
Hey Captain, before the end of WWII the Jodphur was an optional footwear for Army Officers just like the Monk Strap, remember the picture of Ike I sent you wearing Monk Strap shoes in the group picture? Semper Fi Marine.
Very cool, gonna look into these! Any recommendations where to get them for the best bang for the buck? (I looked on Thursday's and they don't have them)
Hi Antonio, thanks for sharing these impressive and informative videos. But can you recommend some brands or companies which can be considered for buying good quality shoes in India? Thanks, and looking forward for your reply
Thoughts on derek guy's opinion "jodhpurs go better with very slim pants, so if you’ve been riding on the wide-legged wave, you may get more use out of some chunky Blundstones"
Id like to dress better than I do, but im not sure exactly how to go about it. I work in a factory and am around machines and operating fork lifts etc. I always wear well fitting Jeans and a well fitting T shirt, and in winter, a hoodie or sweater over the Tee. What are some options that are still rugged enough for this environment, but also more dressy than Jeans and a Tee. (Obviously a 3 piece suit is not an option for me daily.) Thanks
Look into a pair of dark chinos maybe. They're a bit more stylish than jeans and the dark colors won't show dirt as much. Pair with a nice but rugged button shirt and that would be and improvement. Throw a cool jacket over in the winter months.
I own two pairs of Thursday Rogues the Mocha and the Taupe , they are sexy as f*ck and so comfortable right out of the box. Anyone after a pair of Saint Laurent Wyatt’s save your money and get these, instead. You can buy four pairs of Rogues , for one pair of YSL Wyatt’s .
From the title, I knew which kind of boots you were going with, and I knew you were going to mispronounce it (the proper pronunciation has only TWO syllables).
@Nick.Brough the Brits are authoritarian adherence to convention. The Americans shapeless free spirits resulting in real social disasters. No brown in town nor tweed in the city. Happy medium is optimal. Dark chocolate brown shoes with midnight blue or deep charcoal suit is okay. I do not want to be OSTENTATIOUS
He does it for engagement, so people will comment and correct him, thus driving up viewership. He does this a lot. Nobody could possibly mispronounce as many words as he does unless it's deliberate.

I'm waiting to see men wearing boots like my knee high Dressage boots around town (like the actual boots in the historical photos here). Companies that make equestrian clothing, often label these (and Chelsea boots) as Paddock boots. Cover them in dirt and horse sweat for a more authentic look 😂
I wait for Thursday boots to release their airforces and all these menswear fashion influencers would make a video telling all they’ve previously promoted is not “on the edge” anymore and airforces rocking and are going with everything. Pathetic.

Agreed! And versatile too.
I thought these boots were just for women but I guess you learn something new everyday

I think they're pronounced as 'jod-purs'.
@@barrymurphy1337 Yep and came to comments to say same. I also think they are “fugly” unless they look like Chelsea or Dealer boots.
I have a pair of black Jodhpurs for 10 years now. They fit so many different clothing styles and look amazing with a bit of care.
The 'h' is silent... JOD-puh
Just wore my Thursday Rogues yesterday with a blazer/jean combo! One of my favorite boots that Thursday makes. Big fan.
I know I'm biased growing up wearing western / cowboy boots. But western boots in my opinion, polished up are better looking, more comfortable, dressier than any pair of Chelsea's.

Those are some stylish boots... and what better place to show them off than NYC during Christmas.
I’m a HUGE fan of Thursdays!!! I have the suede Chelsea and the Chairman. Can’t wait to get more. I also recommend them highly!
Got two pairs and planning on getting a third pair. I love this style of boot
7:30 Grand Seiko spotted👀
Nice watch
My 3rd purchase from Thursday were these. Wished they had a better sole for winter, however. Don't recommend for inclement weather or snow.
Monkstrap and double monk strap boots fill a similar niche.
i wear the jodhpurs in anejo from thursdays, but i dyed them black. looks good

Never actually thought about these, but after seeing the video I'm definitely getting some.
As always, great video Antonio! I think these will be added to my lineup. I like the style of them and how secure they will stay on your foot. 👍🏼
Thanks, I think you'll love them!
I got some dark brown/chocolate jodhpurs from Taft and the Taupe jodhpurs from Thursday boots. Comfortable, stylish and stand definitely pair well dressed down or dressed up.
Love the video… but green suede is the most versatile since one can wear it with brown and black and dress it up and down. ;-)

Not bad. Showed my man and he had similar boots in the past.
Nice!
I hate Chelseas and can't find much to like about my Chukkas but I've been using Jodhpurs for years now. Great boot!
Reminds me of a engineer or harness boot
"Jord-purh" H is silent. 👍

They’re definitely more versatile than you might think!
Wow, these completely missed my radar. Definitely want a pair, might check your link.
Strap placement and position is key. The fashion forward jodhpurs have wild strap positions lol
I have always liked this style but I thought the were monk strap boots. Thanks for the lesson Antonio.
I’ve got a pair but from different company and omg most beautiful boots. What I’m thinking now is to get another pair of Harness

Hi Antonio, thanks for sharing these impressive and informative videos. But can you recommend some brands or companies which can be considered for buying good quality shoes in India? Thanks, and looking forward for your reply
I got one which I bought 3 years ago but never wear it because I never see anyone pull it. This video have now give me a nudge.
Thoughts on derek guy's opinion "jodhpurs go better with very slim pants, so if you’ve been riding on the wide-legged wave, you may get more use out of some chunky Blundstones"
Anthonio, do these work well in hot tropical weather? Are they durable enough for a lot of rains? It mostly rains here
@@ryandaverayla4910 well they did originate in India, so I'd think so, yes
My first thought was Wellingtons before watching the video
I definitely will prefer this to the Chelseas. The elastic band on the side has always been a turn-off for me. Same with the side zipper.
Nice boots...thanks for sharing. I am just not a fan of the chelsea boots.
Chelsea top

@ Appreciate the recommendation.
Two syllables only...jod-purr. I'd argue that a well-made Chelsea boot like R.M. Williams is a more versatile option to dress up or down.
I don’t know what the name of that Chelsea boots that Bob Dylan wore.❤❤❤ do you think you could find out?
Didn't he wear cuban heeled boots?
@ you know what they do look like him hey but thank you anyways I love your channel. Stay up buddy and thank you for all the updates. Stay blessed.
I think they are thanks for the updates. All the colognes how to present yourself you’re a chap champion. God bless him and have a great day.
Nice looking boot toe box looks too narrow for my taste though.
I am not a huge fan of metals at shoes. However, really interesting background story. Thank you, Antonio.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.
This seems like a really niche shoe that someone wears 5x a year.
nice looking boots
Thank you sir
@@RealMenRealStyle You're welcome Gent.
Its pronounced Jodper
Chelseas good old man shoes. No laces nor straps to deal with. Just slip on and off
I've always thought Jodhpurs look feminine, but I may consider now that I've watched this.
Thursday boots 🥾?
Yes, go there. They are a little pricey, but they are worth it. Save up for them.
Being an Englishman, I have a pair.
Awesome!

Just not a fan of chukkas. Never worn a pair that felt like they gave me a secure fit.
0:01 in. Its a Jodphur boot
Meanwhile 99% indians using slipers even ministers... 🤣🤣🤣
" Modern boots " is more like european creation...
From the title, I knew which kind of boots you were going with, and I knew you were going to mispronounce it (the proper pronunciation has only TWO syllables).
JOD-PUR. As a Brit I think I'd be laughed out of town wearing a pair of boots like this, much like the western/cowboy style boots.

Oh no... Please redo the audio for this ASAP. It's pronounced jod-purr, like odd fur
Every time he says 'joe-di-pur' I picture him wearing them while riding a hobby horse. Jodipur jodipur jodipur!
For the love of god 😢
It's pronounced "JOD POOR"

@greyhound6375 Not gonna lie You're pretty accurate 👏🏻
His pronunciation of Jodhpur is so awful it must be deliberate. Can't understand why.

To be honest they look good on the shelf but not very good on foot. Too busy at the ankle. Cannot compare with the chelsea or chukka.
Depends on the person and their style
These boots are okay and they look good. Chelsea boots on the other hand look feminine.
This dude here needs to get rid of ALL of his shit color leather boots and need to buy a whole bunch of BLACK leather boots...
No, those are hideous.
