I clicked on the video just to hear if Fico is still "Fajkou" 😀. Glad to hear this has finally been corrected and also other names pronunciation was actually pretty good 👍
The EU sent their top investigators to do a full scale investigation of corruption in Hungary and they found nothing. So the fact that you still call Hungary a corrupt nation proves you're a racist Hungarianophobe.
"Funny" part is that Fico and his party are also VERY anti-Hungarian, and at around 2010 they were the architects of the language laws specifically designed to restrict the language use of the Hungarian minority there. But since Fico is also a bootlicker of Putin, Orbán, a supposedly Hungarian nationalist loves him. Absolutely disgusting.
I dont know why people keep acting like democracy is some holy word that all good comes from when used, this is exact deffinition of democracy that is. everyone gets a vote and you will be mad because majority forces you into state that you dissagree with. And If you want to make a change it is not through your work but through manipulation of mass. democracy is just a tool that lets us fix issues that occured, when things get very bad, and does it by electing some other party that promises us solutions. And all that without need of revolution, overthrowing dictator. Now for this model to work, every citizen needs to keep keen eyes on his elected representetives and guess what, thats not something people find pleasure in doing. They would rather hear solutions and solved puzzle of world, than constantly doubting themselves and their saviours.

Hungary is more corrupt, but it's the people of Slovakia who are the more brainrotten idiots. As for corruption, Hungary's is not only systemic but is the foundation of the system itself. Compared to that, corruption in Slovakia is more maffia-like and rough, though effective. Brainrot-wise though, Orban cemented himself in and brainwashed the country with their media empire. Slovakia can be divided into 4 major parts. 1. Bratislava with purchasing power and HDI comparable to Western Europe. Here, pro-EU parties dominate. Roughly 15% of population. 2. Urban areas in the Western and Northern Slovakia + Košice /Prešov - slighly poorer purchasing power than in middle-eastern Europe. Region was strongly developped by communists, so its usually slightly in favour of current government (although some areas are full hardcore Fico voters, especially surroundings of Prievidza). Roughly 35-40 percent of population 3. Central-South and East (w/o Košice/Prešov), also a lot of rural areas - basically everything severely underdeveloped (infrastructure, industry, education...), wages often 50-60 percent of those in Bratislava with mostly similar prices of goods, significant (and extremely poor) Roma minority creating tensions. Here, populists and fascists thrive and dominate. Roughly 30-35 percent of population. 4. Hungarian minority regions in the south - politically speaking, they are becoming just Orbans puppets... Roughly 10-15% of population. Obviously, its not like everyone from the east is a Fico voter and viceversa, esp. young people are leaving poorer regions en masse to Bratislava (16% population increase of aglomeration in 10 years with the trend not slowing at all) or other countries, especially Czech Republic (Roughly 16 percent of all Slovak Uni students are in Czech Republic). So its really not a surprise that pro-EU parties are struggling, especially after the fact that last pro-EU government was both incredibly chaotic and faced COVID and beginning of Ukraine war. First of all. You do not understand countries that were under the boot. And Slovakia was always one. Either under Austro-Hungarian empire or the Soviet Union. And we definitely do not want to be under the Western regime. But we will probably go the route of Hungary, Greece. Since we do not have resources like RF does. Or options are limited. And as for the corruption yeah as a Slovak I can confirm that the corruption was and still is and probably will be. Since this goes way back. Those who had power still have it. It was just passed on. If not to offspring than to their servants. And do not let be fooled. There was to gentle revolution like it is thought in the fucking naive West. It was a deal. Not a revolution. Because ordinary people did not have power or money. And those who had power and did not want to lose it or their well being they cut a deal. Wealth remained in the hands of the corrupt. The only thing that changed was label. Instead of communism you get democracy which is run by people who are corrupt and do not know what democracy means. It's the EU that ruined Hungary because of the Sanctions it imposed on Russia which backfired on the EU. Now the EU economy including the German economy is in tatters.
Well most of the population thought that this step would improve our life standard. And it did to some degree. But if we can not govern ourselves and we can not live our own lives. Than that means the EU is a bust for us in a long run. It is not different than a Soviet Union. We just switched from communism to imperial globalism dictatorship led by EU. But in difference the EU is worse because they want to control us and say to us what is best for us and what identity we should accept and not. I see that Fico is doing some things that are not in accordance with EU’s politics. However I really don’t think that there’s anything wrong or "pro Russia" in not wanting to get involved in the war in Ukraine. That’s a mistake on Macron’s part, because NATO is a defensive alliance and has nothing to do with war in Ukraine. Of course it is in our interest that Ukraine can withstand Russian invasion, but in no way should NATO’s troops get ever involved.
War in Ukraine has little to do with Fico. He is "against" just because it fuels him votes and popularity coz his voters are simple minded. NATO is a defensive Alliance, but defense doesn't start at your territory, but beyond it -- and when there is a real danger, a real war near your borders, you gotta respond to it. And don't get me even started on the moral of the war coz thats just another reason why any decent human should support Ukraine against Putin.
In less than one year Fico took hold of all aspects of government, the judiciary, started his rebuild of the media and cracked down on the opposition, say what you want the guy works quick.
And he needs to. If Ukraine falls. We will have new neighbor the RF. And we know how the West sacrificed us in the past. Before the WW2. And yes we are talking about the fucking UK. So the West can not be trusted.

Well, the EU still needs them, but it has to find ways to help its member states to stay democratic. This isn't just a problem of Hungary and Slovakia. Germany, France and the Netherlands are having the political climate to head into the same direction. The Copenhagen Criteria should be enforceable for existing member states as well somehow.
The German automobile industry would be the primary objector here. V4 is just about one huge assembly line for the Volkswagen group where EU membership meets Shengen and relative proximity. If someone knows please enlighten me but I see where citizens blame Ukraine for the war, what do these people see? What type of information are they being fed? I'm in America and there is nothing we see here that would make you think that.
Here in Slovakia there are two types of people who opposes aid to Ukraine. First ones (smaller group) are pro-russians who admire Putin and Russia and considers them a brotherly nation and are in general hooked on pro-russian facebook pages and their propaganda. The second (larger) group are more moderates who considers Slovakia country too weak to risk itself getting involved in conflict like this. There is an old saying in Slovakia from the communist days: "If you don't steal, you steal from your family." This was felt throughout the society, officals taking bribes, doctors taking bribes, teachers taking bribes. The whole society was built (as was quite common in the Easter block) on dark economy and corruption. Even Fico once said that the greatest asset of a Slovak is to make ends meet on Slovak wage (HE REALLY SAID THAT). Now, thanks to the EU and economic progress he have been moving Westward not just economically but also moraly and this kind of corruption-based society was dying out. When people are not engaging in daily corruption they become more alergic to it. That is why Matovic won the last elections on an anti-corruption platform. The new increase in taxes across the board, especially the sales tax, as well as increased transaction fees are a clear signal to use more cash again. The age-of-cash is back and with it returns the corruption. We are not only about to loose a lot of money from our wallets, but regress in our morals as a society too. Truly dark days ahead
Well that is how downfall of EU will start. You sanction one or two. You can sanction everyone. That will start with fractioning of EU. Remember that EU states are also economically bound. China or Russia can still fill the void.Factories can be sold with the machines. West will lose its competition capacity. And can result in isolation of its economy. If there are wise people that can see a larger picture than they will not do it. But with western warmongering idiots you never know.
Sanctions for what? To be who we are, who stands for rights for the people, be strong and being us? Maybe should be other way around, that we have no voice, we need permission for everything, where we go or who we visite or invite to our house. Or what car I should drive, where we take a gas from, or if I want to fart who should I call and ask if it's ok with the EU.

"social-democracy" (Fico's party) - neither social nor democracy
"Funny" part is that Fico and his party are also VERY anti-Hungarian, and at around 2010 they were the architects of the language laws specifically designed to restrict the language use of the Hungarian minority there. But since Fico is also a bootlicker of Putin, Orbán, a supposedly Hungarian nationalist loves him. Absolutely disgusting.
Just as Fidesz is not christian-conservative anymore.
Sounds like another "Socialist" party I know from a few decades ago.

It is your Germany where it is dangerous to be Jew again, and you arm Nazis, and want Word War with Russia.
Roughly 35-40 percent of population

My country WE LOVE IT ❤
In less than one year Fico took hold of all aspects of government, the judiciary, started his rebuild of the media and cracked down on the opposition, say what you want the guy works quick.
And he needs to. If Ukraine falls. We will have new neighbor the RF. And we know how the West sacrificed us in the past. Before the WW2. And yes we are talking about the fucking UK. So the West can not be trusted.
Fico knows what he is doing and he doing well as the government.
You might not like us, we might not agree on everything, but I am not telling other people from other countries what they should do.

Please, EU must withold these funds for us. Only if he and his allies lose access to EU funds, only if their voters start to feel their incompetence, only then will he be finally defeated.
i think i had a climax when this channel correctly pronounced fico's name for the first time
I like how you highlighted Pellegrini and Fico with the same color on the timeline. They're indeed the same entity, although with different names and faces.

I am seeing it like this: the EU does not need Slovakia, or Hungary for that matter, for anything. The cost much more than they provide. So if they want to play hardball, they have much more to lose then the rest of the EU has.
@@JaegerDreadful Pretty much accurate. Also, they finally (hopefully) acknowledge the mistake they made when instead of punishing Hungary for sabotaging the EU, the tried to please it.
Yes but then Slovakia will fall under Russian political influence even more. That's not good
Well, the EU still needs them, but it has to find ways to help its member states to stay democratic. This isn't just a problem of Hungary and Slovakia. Germany, France and the Netherlands are having the political climate to head into the same direction. The Copenhagen Criteria should be enforceable for existing member states as well somehow.
@@NederlandsTransatlanticus the EU is funding the corrupt government. If anything its doing the opposite
The German automobile industry would be the primary objector here. V4 is just about one huge assembly line for the Volkswagen group where EU membership meets Shengen and relative proximity. Remove one or two of these countries, the price pressure on upping the local wages in the remainder will have become irresistable because you effectively limit the competition. Because where else will they be going: Ukraine? Serbia?
Slovakia can always say FY to EU!!!
There is also a law that forbids protests in front of government buildings, increased pay for ministers by additional 5000€ after tax and of course indefinite salary and protection for Robert Fico.... On the other hand they increased taxes on books, lowered monthly benefits for parents and lowered benefits retirees receive from their children via tax deductions from roughly 180€ to 18€... We are well and truly heading in a direction from which country will be strugling to recover for many years to come.
They need to find 2,7 billion eur, mostly from people through tax. Some taxes increased from 10 to 23% and basic tax increases from 20 to 23%. Also new tax from bank and ATM transactions, this tax have only two countries on the world (Venesuela and Hungary). Im scared for my family and my son`s future
Fico is not Orban, he stands by the democratic and constitutional process of Slovakia, in contrast Orban has successfully created a one party State with no realistic chance of any other political party winning a Hungarian election.
Fico is heading the same direction as Orban. He is criminalizing his opponents and even theur families, he is squizing the law to get his friends from jail or end their prosecution, he literaly made insults from words liberal or progress, he is demonizing western countries and USA (our allies) and he is pushing us step by step to be Russia colony again, where he could rule exactly as Orban in Hungary. He is also calling regular media as alternative when in the other side he is pushing conspiracy and hoax "media" as the main one (where he can spread anything he wants without oposition). He and his comrads even were regularly presenting themself in nacists web sites. There is not even one thing to what you can say is good.
Will see in 10 years
This is absolutely stupid.
Currently 9!!! party sits in the parliament in Hungary.
Winning an election is easy, you need a program that people vote for.
It was a one-party system before 1989.
You don't know the real situation and are just repeating the liberal narrative.
The 2023 world corruption list:
Hungary (1.2 percent)
Czech Republic (3.5 percent)
Belgium (4.3 percent)
Latvia (2 percent)
Denmark (3.4 percent)
Spain (3.5 percent)
Portugal (7.7 percent)
Croatia (6.8 percent)
Greece (5.5 percent)
Italy (11.8 percent)

In summary: The accusations of corruption leveled against Hungary are false allegations.
Liberal democracy means that if you don't do what we say, you are a corrupt-fascist-populist.
But the world is slowly turning, right-wing parties are emerging, people cannot be considered stupid forever.

Yes, it is very true. The quality of life is really low in Slovakia right now.....I can see how the middle class is dying.
Yeah there is no middle class. Downgrade to low class.
If someone knows please enlighten me but I see where citizens blame Ukraine for the war, what do these people see? What type of information are they being fed? I'm in America and there is nothing we see here that would make you think that.
You're living in the most propaganzied state ever to exist, of course you don't know.
This second group is essentially people who tipped over presidential election to Pellegrini. They dont exactly blame ukraine as much as they just blame both countries and NATO for the war (But polls usually dont make difference in that).
@@Lukas-lw4eg I'll be honest, I think the groups have switched already. That one grew while the other was reduced in numbers. Or I might just live in a wrong part of Slovakia where somehow everyone roots for Russia and don't care about Ukrainians and their suffering now and the one that would follow.
@@marukatsuro9731 Maybe, I dunno. in my surroundings it remained pretty consistent ever since start of the war
@@Lukas-lw4eg Lucky. I found out the hard way how everyone would rather kiss the Russians than help out a neighbour in need. Even after everything we had to endure from them, they would rather side with them.
Truly dark days ahead

may not like either hungary or slovakia’s government but the eu should not sanction them
Well that is how downfall of EU will start.

Finally I see someone that is not on one or another side just totally objective as it is...I agree with everything.... thank you for the video!
The EU is also highly corporate
As a Hungarian and slovak bilingual person with two identities living in Hungary and working in Slovakia, being married to a Greek guy, I don’t have where to go, I feel everywhere home, but all all “my” countries have big problems. No escape just hope for better.
Then choose Czechia :D similar to Slovakia, but so far not in such deep crap.
Just to be clear, there is nothing neutral or objective about the German public broadcasters or about the German media in general. The government has even started to crack down in the few remaining disconnecting media outlets.
So, Germany has no leg to stand on, criticising Hungary or Slovakia.
It often is a case of the "pot calling the kettle black". The accusations against FICO are no doubt true, he´s corrupt, he´s got authoritarian instincts, he´s a racist etc. However, so do many politicians, look at the PSOE and PP in Spain. He´s not being attacked for any principled reasons, he´s being attacked because the EU comission and Germany don´t want anyone who disagrees with them on Russia.
The woman narrating the video is also English which is a country that’s jails more citizens for speech than Russia. Democracy is an illusion in Western Europe. The United States should invade the UK and liberate it at this point.
i'm really ashamed... good thing that we Slovaks are very used to feeling profound shame about our country and people 🙃
