With age, time becoming more and more desensitized to me, and loved ones passing... this song hits harder than it ever did in my high school years when I first fell in love with the song
I was already 30 when this came out, and yes, it still hits at 40. As a soundtrack for a potential midlife ... malaise, if not crisis ... it also hits differently.
I cant believe it's been 11 years. Greatest mosh pit ever in the mud at Bonnaroo in 2014, My son and I I got knocked right out of our shoes more than once in that scrum. We never found his and he went the whole first day of the festival barefoot.
Can I see What's going wrong with me I use to have it all now I'm alone I'd never say I'm better off this way I need something to do somewhere to go I need time to stop moving I need time to stay useless I need time to stop moving I need time to stay useless I need time to stop moving I need time to stay useless I need time Can I feel So utterly unreal Like nothing I could do would make things change I'm stuck in here And I'm tired of everywhere I'm never gonna learn to be alone I need time to stop moving I need time to stay useless I need time to stop moving I need time to stay useless I need time to stop moving I need time to stay useless I need time oh oh oh oh [x4] I need time to stop moving I need time to stay useless I need time to stop moving I need time to stay useless I need time to stop moving I need time to stay useless I need time
I don't hear the sdre influence here, but I like any reference to them.. maybe stuff I never heard yet but def reminds me of the strokes and that genre.. but to that I'd say..strokes didn't invent that style..it's a fundamental punk algorithm, strokes just colored it in some with a bit of sophisticated emo continuity and drove it closer to home with subtle do wop melodies..these seem to start from there and go about stripping it all back down a bit.downgrading the professionalist art sound the strokes seemed fond of, and getting back into the juvenile grade irreverent honesty closer to punk roots..at least that's what I take from this cut..by comparison.
anyway whatever I just typed..I just really dig and relate to these lyrics.. staying useless to everyone's elses agendas really does take a good deal of time and resolve.
To everyone hating on Dylan baldis voice it's supposed to sound washed up and grungy they're a lo fi band what do you expect that's like saying smashing pumpkins need a new vocalist it's just the way they are
I listen this music everyday and post it on facebook everyday,my friends are angry with me because I'm posting this everyday, but this music is so sick!
For this to work, it's more like you'd have to wake up at like 4:30 am, drop acid, then by the time you're getting on the bus you'll be peaking. Source: I did that.
Lyrics cuz I scrolled down a bit and didn't see em; Can I see what's going wrong with me I used to have it all, now I'm alone I never said, I'm better off this way I need something to do, somewhere to go I need time to stop moving I need time to stay useless I need time to stop moving I need time to stay useless I need time to stop moving I need time to stay useless I need time Can I feel so utterly unreal But nothing I could do would make things changes I'm stuck in here and I'm tired of everywhere I'm never going to learn to be alone I need time to stop moving I need time to stay useless I need time to stop moving I need time to stay useless I need time to stop moving I need time to stay useless I need time Oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh I need time to stop moving I need time to stay useless I need time to stop moving I need time to stay useless I need time to stop moving I need time to stay useless I need time Songwriters: Dylan Baldi / Jayson Gerycz
ATTENTION ANYONE WHO CAN HELP: i heard this song in a movie, or tv show, or commercial, or something.. and i cannot remember what it was. THIS IS KILLING ME. if you have any information leading to the discovery of said movie/tv show/commercial/whatever, you will be rewarded with kisses. That is all
Humanity needs time to understand existence. All your thoughts are created bit by useless bit in the present, yet you can only piece them together from the infinite series of useless bits that came before. This is a good song! I found these guys in Spin and can't stop listening to 'em. They remind me of Nirvana, without the buzz effects. Nirvana and Interpol. Something like that.
haha I love the discussion and the comments, for example, I just heard a 'The Strokes' heavy influence mainly because I didn't dive further into it so it's great to learn a lot more about the other styles coming off of this song :)
I made a profile just to say yes!!! I thought immediately that this sounds like The Pillows in english and you had already pointed out that it sounds like a Fooly Cooly song. Wherever you are, whatever you're doing, i love you, man!
With age, time becoming more and more desensitized to me, and loved ones passing... this song hits harder than it ever did in my high school years when I first fell in love with the song
man i was in my 20s.. now in my thirties.. and its amplified x 10 lol
I was already 30 when this came out, and yes, it still hits at 40. As a soundtrack for a potential midlife ... malaise, if not crisis ... it also hits differently.
Glad I'm not the only one coming back to this after turning 30 lol

Damn the beginning of this video really does evoke the feeling of being that loner kid in middle school.
2:26 the seemingly dead parachutist is a reference to Lord of the Flies.
I don't care how much time I wasted on UA-cam, I always find an amazing band
Dylan is such a talented vocalist. He’s not just a guitar player that can sing, he’s a vocalist. He’s got some soul in his raspy tenor voice.
everyone is talking be about the singer but he's my favorite part of the song
I've listened to this song for several years but this is the first time I've seen the music video
I spent a whole month trying to find the name of this song :') i don't regret it.
Can I see
What's going wrong with me
I use to have it all now I'm alone
I'd never say
I'm better off this way
I need something to do somewhere to go
I need time to stop moving
I need time to stay useless
I need time to stop moving
I need time to stay useless
I need time to stop moving
I need time to stay useless
I need time
Can I feel
So utterly unreal
Like nothing I could do would make things change
I'm stuck in here
And I'm tired of everywhere
I'm never gonna learn to be alone
I need time to stop moving
I need time to stay useless
I need time to stop moving
I need time to stay useless
I need time to stop moving
I need time to stay useless
I need time
oh oh oh oh [x4]
I need time to stop moving
I need time to stay useless
I need time to stop moving
I need time to stay useless
I need time to stop moving
I need time to stay useless
I need time
This song makes me feel like im in 07 again, idk why, great song love this band
THE PAIN IS RAEL
I just saw them tonight in Paris for the first time, and was everything I hoped for and more.
Thank you for screaming through my teenage years.
I listened this song when I was 14 for the first time and then my life was changed.
this song and the video are sooo good. i cant stop listening to it
kinda has a Sunny day real estate feel to 'em, i liek.
word. i feel like the emo influence of cloud nothing's last two albums is somewhat understated by critics.

This song is so damn good. One of the best bands around. The NEW record is BRILLIANT from start to Finish!
To everyone hating on Dylan baldis voice it's supposed to sound washed up and grungy they're a lo fi band what do you expect that's like saying smashing pumpkins need a new vocalist it's just the way they are

marcos jacobs honestly his voice is my favorite part of their band (sorry for the late comment)
he wrote the song, this and every other, he's incredibly talented, and founded the band, actually the band was only him for most its existence

gets on school bus. drops acid. magical wonderful school bus adventure. wakes up in class.
For this to work, it's more like you'd have to wake up at like 4:30 am, drop acid, then by the time you're getting on the bus you'll be peaking.
Source: I did that.
On the intro I had a flashback to "The Magic School Bus" 😂
I NEED TIIIIIIMEEE!!

This is my life this my song!!
2024 anyone???
They totally sound like a non-Japanese The Pillows.
Well I'll be... i can't unhear it now. Explains the catchy rhythm as well.
Oh dude. Did you just invoke the name of the Pillows?!
Aughh
I think I hear it now
clap your hands say yeah X every other “indie” band from 2004-2009
Haha almost hard to explain by the strokes the riff.
THIS IS A SONG OF ME!??
Where these guys out if? The keys hum!!
Such a lush mix of punk and indie, fuckin' class mate.
That is all
8 years and nothing sad
They played this song on Jimmy Fallon so maybe there?
Useless is useless when you cant use that energy for something : D good music!
Este video esta loco
cloud nothings, why you no come to Massachusetts?
This music video is about daydreaming as a kid so vividly that you suddenly realize you're in class, and to top it all off you have a broken pencil.
Perfect for those apathetic, existential coffee and cigarette breakfasts.
Lunches and dinners too.
Try beer
Joder, que buena rola y el vídeo muy bueno. Gracias youtube, a veces me recomiendas pura basura, pero otras no. lml
You can stop moving when you're dead. For now, dance the pain away.
Summer
Last year
College
Fucking epic
Only thing that makes me smile lately is this song
kind of reminds me of insert band here
Visually - the gorillaz
Musicaly - early 2000's like sum 41, blink, and sorta the hives or the strokes.
It reminds me of Jet and Everclear.
But it sounds like Cloud Nothings!
Darude sandstorm
G
smashing pumpkins
My old manager was joe boyer, a class act. One of the most interesting and nice people I've met to date
fuckin love this group
I keep hearing 'I need time to stay Eustace', like the guy from 'Mountain Men', LoL
his voice sounds wretched like he feels wretched
This sounds different than it did the first time I heard it.....many moons ago....is this a cleaned up version?

Nice :D
Wigger.
How old r these dudes?! They fucking ROCK!
man i dont wanna grow up
Heavy Strokes Influence for sure :)
Maybe this song has a similarity but the rest of the record would beg to differ
they definitely do a good job of blending post-hardcore and early emo with more standard 00s/10s indie stuff. its like the strokes meet jawbreaker.
1
haha I love the discussion and the comments, for example, I just heard a 'The Strokes' heavy influence mainly because I didn't dive further into it so it's great to learn a lot more about the other styles coming off of this song :)
But yes I did listen to the rest of the record and I can see the variation of styles they put to play :)
WAS AN HONEST MAAAAAN
haha the frog at the end
Go puberty!
Fair Fucks Tune Dis.
"please let this be a normal field trip"
CLOUD NOTHINGS NEED TO COME TO MAINE.
that song for Sakura
0:47 "We were someplace around Cleveland when the drugs began to take hold."
The singer is very concerned about Tom.
hahasimp tom is a useless spaz: I NEED TOM TO STOP MOVING, I NEED TOM TO STAY USELESS
Lolz, is this is reference to something in the song or just part of a thread I missed?
cute video
FLCL
I made a profile just to say yes!!! I thought immediately that this sounds like The Pillows in english and you had already pointed out that it sounds like a Fooly Cooly song. Wherever you are, whatever you're doing, i love you, man!

Hard to Explain by The Strokes?
Ugh! I hate it when my gay action figure causes the death of all of my classmates and has me wash up on a TV beach!
Thought I recognized this animation style...
Don't know why, but they remind me of Saves The Day. Don't know why, just does.
Cool story bro, needs more dragons and shit ;)
I fucking love altnation
this was on siriusxm alt nation?
I LOVE this song, though the beginning is too similar to that of Tegan and Sara's Hell...
