Hi ! Your videos came up in my feed . I am 60 and love this look . Thanks so much ! I am in Brooklyn too and love when easy makeup looks are really easy and achievable looks . Many time simple or natural looks I click on will still have 20 steps and tons of products . Have a great day .
Hello fellow Brooklynite! We’re actually moving back to the PNW next week which is bittersweet. I’ve been here for almost twenty years. I’m glad that you liked the video and hope you have a great day as well ☺️
Just found your channel. Thank you SO much for explaining how and why we should apply products. Makeup advice on social media is hyper-focused on trends that look good on young skin (only on camera)…so it’s refreshing to receive advice that translates to the real world! 🎉
Hi Kylie! Thanks for the kind words. I’m glad you like the makeup and appreciate the explanations! I agree with your assessment of a lot of the makeup we see on social media. Even on younger skin, many of the techniques aren’t flattering in person and look cakey. To each their own I suppose! I’m happy to share an alternative approach though and am glad it resonates :)
Just found your channel and subscribed. I’m in my late 50s and rarely wear makeup but I’ve gotten to the point that I look washed out most of the time. Your tips were great! I’m going to catch up on your other videos. Unlike most makeup videos (of every age) on UA-cam, it looks like you don’t load up yours eyes with outrageous lashes and multi colored sparkles for every look. I breath of fresh air- or just more in keeping with my own aesthetic.
Thank you! I’m glad it resonated and appreciate the subscription ❤️ I hope the tips come in handy and that you find value in the other tutorials as well. Eventually, I’ll probably try to push myself out of my comfort zone, for variety’s sake, and do some more dramatic looks incorporating lashes and sparkle, but my focus will always be understated and pretty makeup.
I've never agreed more on a mature skin makeup recommendations ever ! Yes for cream and light products. I press my hands on my face after warming my foudation on my fingers. I just use a makeup sponge to make it more uniform. I also use it after blush to be sure i have no lines I struggle to find a good concealer with no cakyness. I used to love the mac prep n prime stylo in bright forecast (corrects beautifully, blends like a dream) but now it gives me eczema like all the other products i've tried so i hydrate/nourish a lot and skip this step. I don't wear any powder either, i prefer a satin finish over enhanced smiling lines. A rosy brow bmush in the crease, and subtle shimmer stick on the eyelids, nice separated eylashes, a nude or a bright mipstick and we're done ! I have compliments on my skin and i couldn't ask for more So happy i discovered you today
Hi! Thanks for sharing! It sounds like you’ve got good skincare and makeup routines! I’m also a fan of blush in the crease of the eyes and something shimmery on the eyelids - it’s so pretty makes good use of blush! 💕
Thank You-this was do helpful! I love glow screen but really learned alot from your tutorial. I want to look natural, soft & pretty and this is a great example of how to get there. 💜❤💜
You’re so welcome! It makes it worth it knowing that these are helpful! Sometimes I feel repetitive in my videos, but the basics are the most important in my opinion 💜❤️💜
This video came up in my feeds and i clicked on it as i saw my age group and the words “easy everyday” 😅 did not regret watching, loved all the tips. Liked and subscribed!
I loved this. I only wear mascara (Thrive Causemetics) and lip gloss. I would love to get a liner & lip pencil but I don't know what color I would be wiith NYX. I'll have to go to Ulta. I never heard of Danessa Myricks. I don't think I will be able to get this because I want to be able to test out products in the store. I wish you could go with me and pick out what I need for this beautiful, natural look
Is there a place to find the list of product names? Or can someone reply with the name of the blush- I'm hard of hearing and didn't catch it when she said it.
Hi! They’re all in the video caption. The blush was Danessa Myricks’ “Yummy Skin Blurring Balm for Cheeks & Lips” in the shade “Jubilee.” I hope you enjoy it. Just remember that a little goes a long way!
Appreciate this video. Lots of nice tips. Unfortunately this won’t work for me. Way too much blush n the eyes seem to have been forgotten. The lips is the only part I will use.
Thank you! I’d try Elf Putty blush in Tahiti or Bora Bora. (Their Putty Blush Brush is amazing btw - I’d recommend that for for whichever cream blush you get.) Another ush option is Maybelline Cheek Heat in Nude Burn.
Currently I am using sigma duo corrector in the shade light/med under my mature eyes with a touch of CT flawless powder. Can you recommend a concealer close to that shade? I really need something more emollient
Hi! I replied to your other comment - not sure if you saw it. Essentially, to get the best match with color and texture, I’d go to a makeup store with different brands to try a few out. It’s always best to get matched in person and I haven’t used Sigma before so it’s hard to make recommendations for similar products. That being said, in my other comment I listed a couple of potential products and colors you could try. Hope this helps!
I use YSL youth code foundation and my skin looks so young in the pictures especially. I swear that online people think I am my son's age and he is my bf. That's so creepy. 😂 I also put just a tiny bit not even a full drop. I mix it with the same amount of CC cream and a liquid SPF tinted moisturiser from Maybelline. All of the pruducts are so light and I don't feel them at all on my skin. My skin looks flawless and I never use any brushes to apply this and eye shadows it just let me blend all the products beautifully into my skin. I often use the eye shadows as a blush or use lipstick as a blush again just a tiny bit. Your cheeks looks too bright for me personally. But I love it on you. I am sort of Scandinavian type, so I love all neutral colours. Thanks so much for your channel and tips. I have just discovered you, but your routine speaks to me and your make up looks certainly way more professional than other makeup artists with millions subscribers. I love yours way more.
Right now I am stuck using Sigma Duo corrector in shade light under my eyes with a little CT flawless powder. Can’t seem to find any concealers even close to that shade that just matches my skin. I don’t like light bright under eye as I mature Any shade and concealer suggestions are welcomed
Whether or not you’ll find just one shade that works, largely depends on how much natural discoloration you have under your eyes (as in blue, purple, or brown) and your proximity to makeup stores that allow you try products on to find the best color. If the under eye discoloration is significant, you might need a color correcting shade to neutralize it and then a tone closer to the rest of your face to make it blend more seamlessly (you can layer them in that order or just mix them together if you’re in a pinch). If there’s not a lot of discoloration, then you can probably find a single shade that’s close enough to your skin tone and not too bright. I would recommend going to Sephora or another makeup store, to get shade matched and see what color/consistency you like. If possible, look at the colors in daylight, to see what you think. NARS has a really extensive shade range in their Radiant Creamy Concealers and would definitely have something to match you. MAC’s Studio Finish concealers look like a similar consistency to Sigma (just going based off of the swatches I see online). If you like that consistency, they also have a broad shade range. If your skin tone is close to mine in this video, I’d wear Custard from NARS and NC20 from MAC in those products. I hope this helps and isn’t too overwhelming! If you have other questions, feel free to ask.
New subscriber 😊 I love the look of tinted moisturizers on others, but they always turn my skin in a shiny mess (not dewy, but oily) pretty quickly..are there any tinted moisturizers that have less of a chance of doing this? Thank you!!
Hi Claire! Laura Mercier has an oil free semi-matte tinted moisturizer that you can get in a travel size to try out! Their original has always been too matte for my skin, so that might even work for you depending on your preferences. Another thing to consider is if you’re wearing moisturizer underneath tinted moisturizers. For normal to dry skin, I’d recommend it, but for oily skin it may not be necessary and might just add to shine. I hope this helps and appreciate the subscription! ☺️
I’m 54 and fortunate to not have any wrinkles (yet) except under my eyes. I love natural or no makeup makeup looks but the under eye concealer always gives it away! My go to is concealer, blush, brows, lipgloss. Sometimes bronzer and mascara but lately loving curled lashes with no mascara.
It’s always the under eye wrinkles! It sounds like you’ve figured out a flattering and easy routine though 🤍 You might like a “lash lift and tint.” I rarely wear mascara myself, but enjoy getting them permed every once in awhile. It’s nice not having to curl your lashes everyday! I’d find a professional with good reviews to do it if you decide to (they sell over the counter kits, but it’s easy to mess your lashes up).
Smear anything you'd like on. As you age you will lose the sparkle in your eye to life's bitter trials. And no cream will give you that back. Guard that spark.
Speak for yourself. I have seen with my own eyes that wrinkles cannot hide beauty and joy in those whose spark has not gone out. And well applied natural looking makeup does not hide it either!
I used an eyeshadow stick. I do have more eyeshadow-focused tutorials and will be posting another one next week! Generally though, I think complexion and brows make the biggest impact, so for a quick everyday routine (which is what was requested for this video), I focus more on those than on eye shadow.
Hi! Thanks for the feedback. I agree that my right cheek could’ve been blended more. I actually noticed it when editing, considered re-filming, and decided it was good enough to get the point across. Regarding placement, I have to disagree. Age alone doesn’t determine whether a blush placement is flattering on someone or not, and I’ve seen this placement look beautiful on many different mature faces ❤️
