What a treat to finally hear this played live. Possibly the best Madness gig ever. They pretty much played One Step Beyond and Absolutely in full minus the hits. Shoddy camera work tho Scott and was that Mark saying "I don't know the words"? Haha. Ps yes Lee, Barso was on fire that night as always. Was a real pleasure hearing some of his old solos like this in the flesh. It was my first HOF. Just wish they'd turned his piano up a bit more or maybe it was cos I was near the front so didn't get the full effect of the PA system. Hearing Cardiac Aarest the following night was incredible too! So many old classics I'd never heard live before.

This is the Madness I wish I could see, performing these wonderful old songs, which in some cases have wrongfully (in my opinion) been left out of their live set since `81 or `82 (as is the case with this one). I dearly wish I could have been there, but I hope you have a fantastic time. P.S. How do Barzo`s piano & organ sound in the flesh?
MrNuttylee7 hi Lee. So wish you couldve been here. It was amazing. There are plenty of videos on facebook, lots of people stream the gig live. The intro was fantastic.. curtain dropped and theyre all posing like the Absolutely cover in front of the tube station. More to come
Thanks Scott, Oh wow that intro must have been brilliant to see. I`m not on Facebook but I can still see some posts on the offical Madness page, up until recently that is as the page hasn`t been working for a few days. I look forward to more vids from you :o)
My favourite Madness record, off their best album. Lee back in the day showed how he good he was on this record alone. Time alas wears us all out and he still gave a good go at his age which could not have been easy.
Love the sax solo so much on the recording, i just wish Lee could have replicated it on this live performance, but i understand that time puts pressure on ability, especially on playing the sax. Love the lads to death xx
philocn plus he had 2 broken ribs.. they've ve just spent ages making the album, promoting the album (still ongoing), rehearsed a shed load, he did 3 gigs at hofw and now hes on tour.. gotta hand it to them that they are still walking! Haha
